I've been talking with this guy, he's brought that time down significantly (he recently got 18:46 in a single segment run on stream). Most of my tips come from him so eh.

This one is much more stylized than my last two. I wanted it to be a cold feeling place with the sky being the main/only light source so the ground is dark with high contrast. Meant to feel like the light of the sky is just now coming out.

Am I correct when I say the Metro Last Light is pretty much as badly optimized as Metro 2033?

I hope it isn't, I didn't like playing 2033 because of how poorly optimized it was. An i5 2500k and a 560ti should not be getting 20-30 fps in that game at 1280x1024

It feels totally broken to me. On very high I'm getting about 15 FPS after the first sequence (which actually ran smoothly), lowering everything to very low = 18 FPS. It's pretty much unplayable. This is with a HD6870. Looking at the steam forums this isn't an isolated case either.

I fucked up the recording, but eh. It's a personal best. The run's also fair from perfect, the armoury clip completely failed so I ended up getting the saw after the door opened, and I spent way too long on the hivemind challenges (the run is segmented into 3 parts, the last two parts being in the last 5 or so minutes :v:)

I don't see why people are saying Last Light is unoptimized.

I run it fine on Very High with SSAA x2 and high tessellation. I can't put on advanced Physx since it just makes the game crash for me.
