Fun game, but placing buildings is a pain in the ass.
If I found a way, I'd love to design a home like some of the rooms in Mirrors Edge. And hire an artists to paint in the over-the-top radiosity.

For 1999 the game looks really good. Overall it doesn't even look that bad honestly, but I might be wearing nostalgia goggles. The gameplay and story is amazing tho so whatever.
It's Freespace 2 for any of you ignorant pigs.
The Freespace Source Code Project and Media VPs update the graphics even more and make it look top notch. There are folks who have also ported over the Freespace 1 campaign so you can play it with the models / graphics of Freespace 2, along with updated models from the first game that weren't present in the second.
Freespace 2 is the best game ever.

It's alright, it kind of depends on the mapset. I think they were initially made for the Doomsday engine, so they look a little weird with sprites.

Really interesting game, holds up pretty well for 1992 and it's fucking crazy how intractable everything is for this era of videogames. You can literally interact, stack, and pick up any item that is possible to do so. I understand where the elder scrolls games got their inspiration from, hell any modern RPG actually.
Also yes I am about to kill that peasant with a torch.
