Nope, it's more like it was a very nice feature in GRID 1 and it was stupid as hell that they removed it.
I honestly would not have bought GRID if it didn't have an in-car view.

Worst thing since Hitler? Nah. Considering Grid 1 had them and this is Codemasters and "Grid 2 sets the standard for technical excellence" I would say it's a giant leap backwards, however

And whats the most similar game to say, forza on the PC?
I loved the level of customization in the forza games and the first GRID wasn't as good for it.

It's pretty much GRID version 1.2. I'd say it's worth buying if you were a fan of the original and it's on sale for $20-30 (steam summer sale!), but nothing more than that.
Otherwise, it's a tad bit more arcady than the original and inherits all the original's traits (uncustomizable cars, decent handling and racing, etc) and there is really no "forza" for the PC
So I bought CoJ: Gunslinger yesterday. I definitely feel like I should have paid more.
The environments are great, the gun play is satisfying, and the story is good.
Also, here's how to remove the black borders and change the fov.
(Be warned, the borders hide that the game is vert-.)

Grid 1 was arcade as hell, you could take nearly every corner full throttle at any speed and you would slow right down without even losing control. This without assists

So is that mod complete, or still short and rough? I've been meaning to try it, but wanted to wait until it was finished or close to it.
It's pretty much feature complete in the sense that everything from thief 1 and 2 is implemented in the game and improved in some way, though they still add features to it that the other games didn't have.
It's meant as a platform for community users to make custom missions, of which there are already a ton of.
Also there's a campaign being worked on too, but that's fairly far off.
Still there are some pretty damn high quality fan mission "mini campaigns" with several levels in a pack, and the next version (2.0) will be completely standalone too, so free game instead of just a mod for Doom 3.
Also, it has some pretty cool physics

From what I can tell, he sneak attacked an enemy force going through the middle of the field, and then went to destroy the main objective. I guess with the video's focus towards the character that he's playing as, it's an inside joke to DOTA 2 players about that character.
