Just Cause 2 possibly? Doesn't have the best storyline but it fits the rest of your description, and the map is a nice mixture of desert, city, jungle and snow.

Sleeping Dogs, though that's less about guns and more about hand to hand combat. The combat is really REALLY good though. I don't usually like hand to hand combat in games but I loved the combat in that game.

Totally agree. Overall a really cool game with interesting characters and good combat and not to mention how beautiful this game is after or during rain. My only 2 issues I have with this game is how slow traffic goes and that the counter move is perhaps a little too easy. Also karaoke

It's not that great. The setting is cool, but the story isn't that interesting, the combat is pretty boring and the climbing sections are pretty dull. The coolest part are the memory remix puzzle kinda things, but there's only a few of them in the whole game.
I decided to buy Bayonetta for the PS3, can't wait for it to arrive.
