So I've been playing this Ukrainian game called "White Gold", it's a sequel to Boiling Point, if anyone knows that game. This game is pretty much if STALKER and Far Cry 3 had a baby and that baby was slightly retarded. It's a pretty cool game, the world is huuuuge, there's a ton of stuff always going on, a shitload of quests and like 6 different factions you side with. It's buggy, the gameplay isn't exactly like a triple A shooter and the english translation isn't very good, only the cutscenes have english voices. But overall, it's quite fun if you look past all the jankiness.

This part was pretty funny - I saw this guy standing there, threatening to jump, I went around the back of that house, climbed up on the roof, went up to him and started just going "jump you fucker", instead he pulls out a goddamn anti-tank grenade and blows himself up.

Isn't there also a space version? I remember reading 'bout this and the "alternate" version in PC Gamer quite a few years back. White Gold was the tropical game whereas its counterpart was on Mars on something.

Yeah, there's "Precursors", which is the same engine, same gameplay, same everything, but it's in space and in the future.

It was a buggy mess, but the gameplay was great, a first person shooter sandbox with a skill system and vehicles was a great idea! I also loved how the world seemed so alive with the different factions fighting each other.

I think the patches fixed a lot of the bugs. I plan to probably play Boiling Point too after I'm done with White Gold, either when I finish it or when I get bored of it. Last time I tried playing Boiling Point was without the patches and it was just impossible.

I remember when I tried playing White Gold about half a year ago, sounds started looping and graphics were buggy as soon as I entered the first town, I'd really love to give the game another go if I knew how to fix the looping bug.
I am now interested in Boiling Point. I have never heard of it.

Did you have any patches installed then? There's one official and like 7 unofficial patch versions, I've got the latest unofficial one and I haven't really encountered that many bugs.
