Well the thing is, there is a point of diminishing returns. Most of my videos with my CRF config end up hitting 30mbps or so. CRF is an adaptive bitrate system in x264. But I also encode my videos for my own archival and watch them on my TV and hence care about their clarity. Besides the chroma subsampling done via normal AVC encoding, the videos look almost lossless when I produce them.
20-30mbps is a solid range for videos you may want to keep. Though I'd say 15mbps is the minimum I personally would suggest as I can actually point to YT producing better quality at that level but not much change above it.
Basically up to about 15mbps, YT's quality actually does change, above that it's simply for your own benefit when watching it.
Level 5.1 just makes it more efficient and a smaller file with more rigorous options. You can lower it and it might make the encode faster, but a 3770k should chew through it. Mine does. I encode my 1080p school project which run about 5 minutes in maybe 4 minutes.

does editing the maps to change your fov affect multiplayer? i did it so long ago i can't remember and whenever i try to join a game it "loads" and then kicks me back to the last menu i was on

BRT, why have you never considered a capture card? As you know I have a capture card and it can record in 60mbps which give amazing quality.
Just a random thought. Since it does hardware encoding on the fly there is 0% load on the computer.

I have, but not for much time. I could see myself using it for livestreaming, but I have the system to do local recording just fine.

Local recording is nice when you wanna edit the raw data. Already encoding recording is super nice when you just wanna pop it up on youtube!
And yea, this card fully supports streaming and Xsplit has full support for it. I got a premium account with the card. I gotta try it out.
