GT and Forza both aim at making a lot of cars feel fairly close to what they really feel like where GTR 2 is more into the details of the whole thing. It simulates a lot more but has a lot less content in vanilla form.

I've played race07 once against AI and their crash avoidance was quite amateur. I prefer doing time attack and stuff, or race against actual people. Though in race07 when you start a race with ~7 people by the time you're at finish line everyone has ragequitted for a minor off
