I felt like Franklin was tacked on just so there would be three characters.
Yeah, I like the character but that seems to be it. He's really the only one with his head on straight, has a good sense of whats right/wrong, and is pretty much trying to be good/decent, but everyone around him is pretty much like "lolnope, do dis, I don't care".
Trevor is my least favourite of the playable characters. His crazy shtick got boring after the first hour or so.
You just haven't seen all he has to offer
You just haven't seen all he has to offer
And then you switch to him and he has a 3 star wanted level and he's driving through Paleto Bay. I only ever use Trevor when I have to start missions with him.
The problem with Franklin isn't the character himself, but the lack of fleshing-out. Sometimes when you switch to Michael, he's with his family. Sometimes when you switch to Trevor, he's around Wade or Ron. Switch to Franklin? He's sitting on the fucking couch, contemplating how long it's been since he thought about masturbating. Not hanging with Lamar, not harassing his aunt into letting him back in his house, just sitting at home planning his next exciting game of twiddling his thumbs. He also could have used his own prologue, perhaps after [SP]the robbery with Michael, Trevor, and Brad.[/SP] Just a good, simple Boyz in da Hood-style mission with Lamar and Stretch. [SP]Which would also have helped flesh out Stretch a bit more and make his betrayal seem more substantial.[/SP]

It's spontaneous, and GTA is a very spontaneous series, so I think it fits.
welp, i got in to a lobby with some little chavs talking on the mic, and i even provoked them, was funny as hell (all recorded, video will be up soon)
oh man i'm finally done with all the stunt jumps now to complete 100% of the challenges, get all the paintjobs for the weapons and the last pegasus vehicles
And then you switch to him and he has a 3 star wanted level and he's driving through Paleto Bay. "Oh Trevor is in a chase, I'll come back later"
Y'know, at some point in GTA's future, I'd love to see more random events happen on the map that aren't directly tied to you. Like, say, you'll come across a turf war in progress, or a NOOSE raid on a warehouse, or a celebrity getting off a plane and greeting a crowd at the airport, or even a full-on hostage crisis. You'd be able to see them on TV or hear about them on the radio, giving you a sense of "Huh, that's nearby. I think I'll check it out and/or mess with it." Stuff like that would go a long way towards making the world feel a bit more lively and interesting. Even little things like hitchhikers when you're driving, people asking for directions when you're on foot, the occasional random person striking up conversation on the street...
Wasn't we once told that we wouldn't see the same switch animation twice or at least rarely? I've lost count of the amount of times I've had "Man, I'm drunk...but shit, I ain't getting drunker" [editline]6th September 2014[/editline]
Y'know, at some point in GTA's future, I'd love to see more random events happen on the map that aren't directly tied to you.
oh man i'm finally done with all the stunt jumps now to complete 100% of the challenges, get all the paintjobs for the weapons and the last pegasus vehicles
I did the stunt jumps in one race, just keep looping around and doing one jump. Now when I do a stunt jump it says I have ~1m left. :v: [editline]6th September 2014[/editline]
My favourite is Michael getting up from the sofa and talking to his ghost children.
Every time he walks into his house, "Daddy's back!" "Another day at the office!" Nobody is home except the maid. Something tells me Michael is having an affair
Every time he walks into his house, "Daddy's back!" "Another day at the office!" Nobody is home except the maid. Something tells me Michael is having an affair
He's sleeping with Carlos, his gardener.
To prep for the release of GTA V PC, some of my friends are working on creating a custom radio station like Independence FM on GTA IV. Each commercial represents an ingame company and some of them are actually rather good. The audio production is top notch. "Oh Trevor is in a chase, I'll come back later"
what the hell were they thinking not letting you switch characters with stars, if you can get stars by switching characters pre-release they said they wanted to let you switch characters but they decided against it. tf is the point?
And then you switch to him and he has a 3 star wanted level and he's driving through Paleto Bay. I only ever use Trevor when I have to start missions with him.
for some reason, I never got that encounter.

When that happens just exit the switch screen and open it again.
If you're about to switch to Trevor and he's going to have a wanted level when you switch, his little icon will be blinking white. When that happens just exit the switch screen and open it again.
omg you legend. Thank you! I wish I knew that sooner.
I felt like Franklin was tacked on just so there would be three characters.
I'd rather say there's a lot of cut content surrounding Franklin. A few things are hinting at it.
Or a lot of future story DLC. Same thing though, right?
I wouldn't mind if it also fixed the SP issues
what ever [sp]happened to franklin's love interest?[/sp] it felt like it was going to be this whole plot point from the trailers [sp]but it turns out to be just a single cutscene and she is never seen again.[/sp]
Why is taunting players while in passive mode so fun? :v:
I felt like Franklin was tacked on just so there would be three characters.
Wasn't Franklin originally going to be the main protagonist until they decided to have the multiple characters? I remember reading that somewhere, it might have been some /v/ bullshit though
Wasn't Franklin originally going to be the main protagonist until they decided to have the multiple characters? I remember reading that somewhere, it might have been some /v/ bullshit though
I wonder how far into development that change must have been (if it ever happened) since GTA V was announced in 2011, and it already had michael as a character. then later that week they released screens showing glimpses of franklin doing a mission
