Fantastic idea. Retaliate against a company's desire to expand a product to your market by furthering your market's worst stereotypes, and threatening to steal their product as well.
I wonder if these people know they're the reason why many developers don't want to deal with PC as a platform.
I think it's past piracy now really even if they say it is the reason. The real reason is that even if all PC gamers bought their game it would still be a tiny amount or fraction compared to the console market - it's a case of economics and greed.
Wait until you start fiddling with the Hydra's. That's "fun".
Even on the console and PC versions, I could never figure out how to get the Hydra to fly. I only did it through luck. I could only imagine how hard it would be on a tablet.

If Rockstar looked at Multi Theft Auto's player numbers, they'd realize their games have a huge PC market. They just need to make the damn port good, give us modding tools (Not even tools, just Workshop-style mod downloads), dedicated servers, etc. Rockstar doesn't understand PC, at fuck all. We have more players daily than a lot of games on Steam because 1. it's accessible to people with shit tier PC's 2. The amount of customization is near sandbox-level 3. We give people freedom to play they game how they want, unlike GTAO's horrid "freeroam" lobbies that don't let you disable cops, protect your money, what have you.
so i wonder, what to expect tomorrow since it'll be GTA 5's bday

And it's really alive after years while GTA4's online has a very few online players.

GTA4's mp died because of russian kids with hacks griefing all the lobbies(it doesn't matter if you have modded your game or not)
Not to be off-topic, but has there been any word on a Red Dead Redemption port to PC? With GTA V coming, I would've thought they'd said something about RDR too.
Wait until you start fiddling with the Hydra's. That's "fun".
I don't remember it being that much more difficult than trying to maneuver the cargobob, and that didn't turn out so badly.

Im pretty sure any chances of a RDR port were thrown out the window long ago.

NEVER EVER
Insurance/Mechanic is a good feature and I think that it must be kept in the series.
They should implement it on Story Mode too.
they thought that having a meta-economy based around money would be fun but it's not fun at all and just detracts from the quality of free roam. If I want to have fun driving a monster truck I shouldn't have to play 500 boring missions to make a million dollars first.
which is why i am desperately waiting for the PC version of this game..

definitely no heists

20% off useless phone abilities, and another double RP weekend.
I can't stop watching the latest next gen trailer. It looks so fucking good.

Mechanic/Request Personal Vehicle is a good feature, though i wish the mechanic would pick up instantly, but insurance is fucked
it was a good idea, but they approached it wrong. Insurance should mean that you, the victim, should not have to be SOL if someone blows up your car. Insurance should not be coupled with a system to punish griefers. in my idealized GTAO, insurance would just replace your car for free (or for a very low cost, like $200), no matter who blew it up, even if you did. then, players who constantly bomb other player's vehicles should be punished in another way--perhaps the owner of Ammunation would limit them from buying any more sticky bombs/RPGs/grenade launcher rounds/whatever they're spamming, with the excuse that they're using them up faster than he can restock, or that he doesn't want the bad reputation of supplying the local grenadophile.
You know what one feature is that they did once but never again in GTA? In Chinatown Wars, you could reduce your wanted level by causing pursuing cop cars to wipe out (2 for one star, 3 for two star, etc)
Not only does that make sense (you're reducing the number of police following you, making escape easier), but it was pretty damn satisfying. Felt like a scene from an over the top action racing movie every time. I'd say it's my favorite wanted mechanic in the series.
I'd love to see a Chinatown like game set in Los Santos on Android or iOs.
Yeah I think that'd be pretty fun. I definitely enjoyed the more arcade-ey feel Chinatown Wars had, and wouldn't mind a pseudo-sequel on maybe 3DS and PSVita (and mobile platforms later)
The only big change I'd want them to make is to lower the camera angle dynamically depending on how fast you're moving. Not being able to see stuff a block ahead of you when going 200mph sucks. A little rear view mirror in an upper corner while driving would be nice too.
GTA4's mp died because of russian kids with hacks griefing all the lobbies(it doesn't matter if you have modded your game or not)
Also it was a shit port and there wasn't much to do in the MP if you weren't doing gamemodes, which nobody did. You want to play GTAIV online? Pfft, clearly you mean free roam at the airport.
GTA multiplayer sessions always end up around where the big, destructive vehicles (specifically aircraft) are though, which is why groups in and around the airport and airstrip are common in GTAO.
I believe this is why they specifically don't let you disable police even in private rooms, because then you could just walk into fort zancudo and everyone would be having jet and tank battles rather than doing anything else.

But why shouldn't we?
Honestly I think they should let you do a set of missions in GTAO to obtain military clearance, so you can enter fort zancudo without four stars and everyone becoming hostile (they still will if they see you steal something though)
It'd come in a patch with a bunch of new military-grade vehicles, sharp-looking service uniforms reminiscent of all branches, and high-yield GI weapons.

I prefer jet and tank battles rather than doing the great activities in GTAO such as:
Paying my bills
Doing my taxes
Trading insurance papers when the dumbass in the pickup in front of me drops a grenade out the window
Etc

- pay your bills by rolling to the irs office in a tank
- do your taxes while bombing the russians in that new f-35
- trade insurance papers? fuck that, just blast him into pieces
I wish there could be private lobbies where you could do whatever
call it "hectic mode" or "chaos" or something, but no wanted levels*, no restricted areas, no bad sport, no insurance (everything replaced for free & car respawns with you), plus, every and any aircraft can spawn anywhere that aircraft usually spawn, including jets, and everyone can call for every Warstock and Pegasus vehicle for free
Disable RP gain during it, fine, whatever, just let us have fun in the sandbox without being paranoid for our insured vehicles and afraid of the griefing punishment system
*[cops and military NPCs and vehicles would still spawn, but they'd react like civilians and run away]

They could also have a version of that where cops/military do react, but maybe not as aggressively, and everything is free, so it would still be a lot of fun.
Many people don't know that If you play with Free Aim you will only play with other players who use Free Aim
They should put it on the Tutorial or whatsoever, once you start online, when Lamar gives you your first weapon, this should appear on a black box:
Switching between aim settings will affect your matchmaking and put you with other players using the same settings. You can only switch between aim settings during Story Mode.
Then when Lamar gets the phone call after the tutorial race this should appear:
Joining friends or other players using different Aim Settings while playing Online will temporary switch your aim preference to their current session. This will be reverted once you complete the activity or go into your previous session.
IF the player is doing the tutorial with free aim selected this appears on a text box:
Playing with Free Aim Setting gives additional RP for killing enemies and players during jobs and activities.
I've wondered why they never put time into making more GTA4 freeroam style game instance, like the normal GTAO instances but without the rpg/progression mechanics.
Yeah you get a lot of retards who spew shit like "they removed my auto aim and I can't get it back" or "I hate how they got rid of lock-on the game is too hard now" when really they've just changed their settings in singleplayer at some point, forgot about it and end up in freeaim lobbies.
I've also been asked "How did you get lock on??!" a few times after killing some people, I swear most of them have a bad case of brain fuckery.
