Grand Theft Auto Series Megathread V2: Give Me (GTA V) PC

As soon as this comes out, I have no use for my 360 anymore. It's kind of bittersweet. On the bright side I never have to deal with Microsoft's bullshit again, but on the down side, I've had my 360 for years now. It's served me well, and I had a lot of memories playing with friends. RIP
Considering I've played this loads already and completed it many times, it's so weird that I'm actually looking forward to the re-release of this game than I am new games that are coming out like Assassins Creed and Farcry.
For those wondering about Character Transfering:

So pretty much as I expected.

And this, too: http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/tutorials/character_migration/player_exclusives/
What I'm wondering is if i have to transfer my character? I want to get the game on PS4, but not transfer my character until I get the PC version.
You'll probably be asked when you first load GTA Online on PS4.
Anyone got anything on that "confirmed" zombie DLC rumor from before?
Undead Nightmare in a modern day setting would be hands down the best thing ever
I'm begging you Rockstar please make it happen

Undead Nightmare free roam with friends would have been the best thing ever, too bad it was released during the wave defence fad :(
I hope to god my PC can handle GTA 5.
What are your specs?
I've got an 1st gen i7 920 @ 4GHz, GTX560Ti 1GB and 6GB ram.
I'm mainly concerned that there will be a higher graphics memory requirement (due to unified memory on next gen consoles) as I can run pretty much everything else at the moment just fine on decent settings.
I wanna see what that rail gun does to a tank.
What if this is the deterrent for gta online when everyone is in tanks.
-On PS4, the light bar will flash red and blue when you're being chased by the cops.
yo.
So I can't transfer my PC character that I transferred from my PS3 back to the PS3? That sucks, I would want to have the same rank on both, along with money, RP, etc.
It's more a clone than a transfer. You clone your character to the new console and it is kept separate from your original PS3 character which you will still be able to play as on PS3 and progress will be separate from your new cloned next gen character.
Jesus fucking Christ, Imagine what Rockstar is gonna have to pull to top that shit with the next installment.
Have no idea what I'm gonna do with my PS3 copy. Can't sell it on it's own cause it's part of the Collectors edition and I don't want to get rid of the hat etc.
Will probably end up putting the PS3 disc in the PS4 box, then use the Steelbook from the Collectors edition as the PS4 case.
I hope they put in an alternative sprint method for first person on consoles at least, tapping X while trying to work both analog sticks sounds like a bitch.

They've added control schemes to switch to, to make it more like an FPS. So it'll most likely be L3 to run like COD etc.
I would watch a Next Gen GTA5 LP that was done in just First Person.
just got done rebuilding my rig, she's got a new ASUS GTX 570/Intel i7 inside
can't fuckin' wait to run GTA V on PC, good god it'll be beautiful
I have concerns though. I suspect the PC version is going to be plagued with hackers/modders on release just because PC is so much easier to manipulate in terms of doing things like that, not to mention the character transfer deal fucking terrifies me, I can see that going horribly awry
don't even care. just let me drive my Futo in first person and I'm happy.
Damn it, I wanted to get a console version so my roommates and others could play it.
But I'd like to have my character on both. Though, leveling on PC may actually become easier in certain ways.
and I sorely hope they have controller support (I can't imagine they won't) simply because I've mastered driving and shooting on a controller and tbh I didn't like playing GTA IV with the keyboard/mouse, it's useful for sniping and that's about it

muh merge
I hope they allow the RAGE engine to branch out a little bit, would love to see a post-apocalypse (zombies, plague, astroids, nukes) open world game use the engine. [sp]Fallout 4 perhaps?[/sp]

I don't think Fallout 4 on this is even a possibility. I would however like to see RAGE in various open world games. Zombies, despite being really overdone, would be one of them. The thought of shooting up zombies in RAGE does sound tempting. Note that I haven't played Undead Nightmare.
Contrary to popular 'tweaks', I still hope that GTA5 PC will not feature all those glitched methods of making ingame cash.
I'm thinking of a fresh start, but some folks will surely find some bug/glitch worth exploiting.
I saved some extra dosh to get the CE/Season Pass.
I'm hungry for more info on various versions to be sold, but I guess they won't spoil it until December/Xmas.

Don't think about it, requires to much effort.thats the job for the suckers at Rockstar to think up.
Where did that gameplay on the ps4 come from? Did I miss something?

Rockstar made the video, IGN just got to release it.

I want to see screenshots of North Yankton on PS4. The snow looked great on PS3, it'd look incredible on PS4.
so nobody really talked about the new HUD

the obvious changes i can see here is a reworked neater looking font, different weapon icons and the borders of the map have been removed
this looks cool
Another IGN article

I like this bit here
“We’ve spent more man-hours on this than most games get from start to finish,” says Rockstar Games art director Aaron Garbut. He describes the “sheer volume of work” as the main similarity between bringing GTA V to new-generation consoles and PC and making a game from scratch."
[editline]5th November 2014[/editline]
the quote from from the Art Director. So he was probably talking about models, textures, etc.

Some more IGN Quotables
There’s something incredible about running around this world in first person, glancing down at Trevor’s hands, now your hands and seeing the tattoos, the dirt under his nails, putting on a pair of sunglasses and watching as the screen tints to match their colour,

stealing a car, watching as your fingers hotwire it and then glance up and see the dash kick into life and the rev-counter jump as you floor it and the ABS light flicker on as you skid round corners.

“This will dive a little into the more technical areas, but we have a much improved screen space ambient occlusion (SSAO) solution that gives us far more solidity than we had before. Most lights now have dynamic shadows, and there are modelled caustic spread patterns on car headlights and many of our placed lights – basically, this is the effect when light is refracted through another material, like water in a pool or in this case the glass in front of the bulb.
“Shadows now cast through the fog itself, so we see lovely shafts of light. Cutscene lighting and much of the city lighting was entirely redone. We have massively upgraded reflections – it’s especially noticeable with all the neon and building lights reflected in the cars at night.
“We have lots more volumetric fog going on, whether the atmospheric glow of building lights in the sky at night or the way the lights in general dissipate in foggy weather. When it begins to rain, these reflections are more noticeable in the puddles and the rain itself now refracts the light around it.”
One thing that hasn't been talked about is the improved damage system. Curious to see how different it is now.
