some small part of me had been hoping that just for some reason that didn't have to make sense, they'd have added in a never-wanted cheat like in san andreas, or at least made cheats easier to save and use like in GTA 4. They claimed GTA 5 made the police have much more realistic intelligence but all they really did was change their circular field of view to a cone. It's really no fun when you just punch a guy in the face out in the middle of the desert with nobody around and then all of a sudden you've got police looking out for you

Police are way too lethal

So I am late on picking up GTA V, and I've been playing it for a bit, but after my game crashed in the climax of one of the (I assume) final missions, i decided to try out GTA Online. It's probably the least GTA i've experienced from a GTA title. From the bat you're told to take part in activities like golf and tennis (what the fuck is this, mario tennis or something?) then you're forced into a race against some other assholes (I hate competition) and then there are missions and shit. After I finally get to play I get actively penalized for gunning down other players. Yeah I could expect a police response, but having players send hitmen after me or something is fucking retarded. I thought GTA online was about shooting people and driving like a maniac, not be a goody-two-shoes and play golf.

I'm not in a story or anything and I can roleplay my character a bit. Get in a nice car, cruise around the highway, pop back into LS for some golf and drive around and just wander into some shops.

I'm more of a guy who plays GTA because I can shoot people without going to jail.

The 'looking at a cop gets you a star' thing would be funny if they weren't all ultimate marksmen. The reason why I loved the cops in IV over V is not because they were pushovers but because their spray when they shot at you created more of a chaotic scene. Taking cover behind a car in Liberty City and having them fire bullets all over the place was fun and made the firefights last long. In V if you crash your car and get out you will be lucky to last 5 seconds after a few cops get out of their cars. Doesn't exactly allow for those epic getaways or shooting sprees.

I played with a "Keelaygee" from the FAPS crew last night. We basically spent most of the time running from the cops in a Surfer van. It was fun.
