Personally, the first heist and the last, are the best.
Maybe it's caused by the fact that those are actually heists about money and not some goverment shit

Yeah I take it back, they just exited the bank and I just started giggling like a maniac, this went from dull to badass real quick
[editline]22nd November 2014[/editline]
And all in first-person!
For those who care about money in Singleplayer

Wanted to play a mission or two.
Now 4 hours are suddently gone, even if I have this game so much previously. This version is really great, love all the neat little additions and details.
Also, if you want the Railgun in SP before unlocking it, just select it at the shooting range, then kill you with the splash damage.
I love how in the PS4 version, the controller lights up depending on what character you are. And if you're chased by the police, it blinks blue and red. Nice touches like that makes this game a lot more enjoyable.
I've accepted you again, hopefully it works this time.
Haha nope, nothings showing up on my rockstar social club.
Edit: Nevermind, I'm a dumbass, it was in my notifications on there.

These gimmicks annoy me to be honest. A controller doesn't need excessive lights or play sound effects.

They aren't really annoying unless you're one of those gamers that holds the controller right next to your face (and you deserve it then). They are easily disabled/ignored.
Well the animations are certainly improved over the last gen editions, more refined and interact with smaller details but clearly they are designed for 3rd person, most are just edits of older ones to include better finger movement and hand sync to weapons so they actually do move the bolt handle and not just grab some air and do the action like they do last gen.
In FPV guns will always remain "in view." Run with a pistol and he points the pistol up with both hands. Run with a pistol in third person and he'll swing his arms while holding the gun in one hand
The animations are different.
Well shit, it only took 3 weeks but I found the Nemesis. What a bitch to find, just to suddenly find it while casually driving. I absolutely cackled like a mad man when I drove it into the mod shop.

It just consumes power and doesn't add anything to the experience in my opinion. In the dark, you might see some flashes in your peripheral vision but I feel it's so insignificant. At least you can dim it a bit and the sounds can be turned off completely.
InFamous Second Son also forces you a lot of gimmicks on you.
Probably old as shit, but I just saw this on reddit

Actually, you're completely, entirely wrong here. If you've ever taken a moment to look at your character in a mirror in first person, or look at your shadow, you'll notice that the animation set is entirely different from the one you see in third person.
Players in Online still use the third-person animation set as their outward-facing animations, but they see themselves using the first-person animations. You can also see the difference if you watch your shadow while you crouch and then switch to third-person, there's actually a bit of flicker as it changes.

Well ok, all I've been seeing is what I can see off streams and videos because I'm not shelling out for a PS4 or XBONE and instead waiting for PC release.
But their method of first person view is still not the best and because of that it plays badly with the animations which still use 3rd person styling because its still the 3rd person model being animated not a separate model system what you traditionally get with 3rd person to 1st person games.

Their method of first person view is a dedicated first person view, the same as you'd get in any Call of Duty or whatever. It was built from the ground up to be first-person. It's a little bit like how ARMA's first person view is a dedicated first person view, but it actually uses the model instead of turning you into Gordon Freeman.
Honestly, I haven't found any issues with it, and I've actually played the game. How about we give it an honest shot before we pass judgment, or you don't really have an argument built on anything more than air out your arse.

Uhh, no its not. They literally just parent the camera to the models face as proven by the camera actually fucking clipping back into the face at times when you get smashed hard enough against a wall etc, they don't use an entirely different camera system which swaps world models for view models which is what CoD/HL/Battlefield does...
GTA5 uses the same system ARMA does, it whacks the camera where the model's face would be and uses world based animations instead of a split animation system.
I'm not blowing air out of my ass as you so put it.
Doesn't matter if the first-person animations are just third-person ones with a different camera or new ones, they're still absolutely horrid. And the models and textures on the shotgun are laughable. Next gen my sweaty balls.
2 months and 5 days left
the wait is killing me

Because they actually parent the camera to your ragdoll's face when you ragdoll in your example.

That would have been really helpful ages ago, I already finished the last mission and I'm just doing the assassination thing
edit
it doesn't even have to be lifeinvader after the mission lol, just the lowest one works

I still did it even though I finished all the story and assassination missions. I had 400 mill on each character after doing the stock market shit from the assassination missions, and got that to 2.1 bill using the bug a couple of times.

The first person is kind of a neat gimmick though, honestly I like to replay by using first person. The driving and car chases alone make this game ten times more intense in first person. The shootouts are okay albeit a bit clunky, but actually I came to the conclusion that I aim better in the first person.
The best part is that it is optional, if you don't like it you can simply turn it off. I think the weapon models are fine though the view can be quite awkward depending on what weapon you carry.
Furthermore it's a first for Rockstar, I don't mind this experiment at all. It still works pretty good and GTA has never really been about absolute mindblowing graphics to be honest.

Got $1.2+ Billion for each character.
Patch available to download on PS4

So how do you explain the mirror animation differences, and the shadows?

They re-made the animations, it could've been easily preventable.
Not that it matters, when we fix the FOV on PC the clipping will go with it
FoV isn't the same concept as the camera near clipping plane.
