Was this last gen? I do believe they solved many problems with passive in next gen by making you a ghost instead of just invincible to bullets.

Yeah, my problems'll be fixed in around 60 days.
I'm gonna enjoy the PC version so much more due to three major things:
60 fps
Trainers/Mods
Mouse + Keyboard
And even apart from that there's all the next gen stuff. Lovely.
Some random guy killed me twice in a row, and I killed him twice to make it even. I guess he decided that I was "worthy", because he drove up and honked his horn for me to get in. Both of us started causing carnage, killing people for no reason, and blowing up their vehicles. I've become the creature we all hate.
I swear if there was a raw deathmatch server, like gta 4, these problems could be curved at least. Loved the huge ass battles in team deathmatch.

I'd love police fights so much, if they removed the police helicopters, or at least toned it down, maybe 2 spotlight helis and 1 armed heli.
The 2 spotlight helis blind you and track you. The armed one just shoots.
Having 3 armed helicopters is so fucking annoying. At least in, PC version, maybe I can mod it to be like that.
I think the wanted system needs an overhaul overall.

I had hoped for some tweaks with the new versions. Like police cars and choppers not spawning out of nowhere. It is ridiculous and pretty annoying, almost immersion breaking.
They could also allow for better stealth mechanics and not make police super aware of your location and whereabouts.

Yeah, I had higher hopes overall in the next gen version. Like fixing up singleplayer as in adding the multiplayer features like personal vehicle system, all those phone contacts, more shit to buy online, more clothes, you know all that jazz you don't have in the sp and a a few flesh outs like more car customization.
Also perhaps more shit to spend your money at and more ways to obtain money after the main mission.
Police chases just feel so boring, you have a fun gun battle for a minute, than you need to run away for 10 minutes. The moment you stop moving, cops swarm you from all directions.

I think they are pretty intense, especially on the highway. In GTA Online I had some intense chases with friends. It's also nice hiding yourself in alley or hidden areas and the police is looking for you, makes it somewhat suspenseful.
Nevertheless police can be obnoxious and over the top and if you kill some person with a silenced weapon in some deserted place, cops shouldn't be there after several seconds.
Just got the 100% trophy after doing the same in the 360 version. Don't have a clue why I bothered to do it again. Here's a funny thing that happened while in the process of doing it earlier though.

Yeah, I wish the cops had more tactics other than "run at the guy until he are dead". They just ram you and try to stop your car without any regard for their own safety or the safety of anyone else.
The ground-combat is kinda boring too. I'd love it if they did group assaults where they lie down suppressive fire and try and flank you, then once you've killed that little group there's a little cooldown period where they try to regroup and reinforce before they attack you again, giving you a chance to escape.
As it is now it's just run to the nearest car and hope the laser-accurate ai don't kill you or destroy all your tires before you can break line of sight, then drive underground and become invisible.

Yea, you can escape with hiding in alleys. But too many times a random lone cop will pop his head around where I am.
Why can't I just use a silenced weapon to pop him and stay hidden? Seriously, what's a silencer even for?
And highway chases would be more exciting if random cops wouldn't spawn out in front of me and magically swerve right into me. Or the one's behind getting a turbo boost and ramming me into a pole.

I don't know if this would work out all to well in GTA. The fights and chases can be quite chaotic and fast paced, something along those lines just wouldn't work out to well. I think the AI is decent when it comes to fights, they take cover and flank you at times. Although sometimes depending on your location, you can exploit the AI to your advantage.
During the chases though, they just blast through everything, it's insane.

I usually just have standoffs with police in an indoor area where I have better cover. I remember in IV, I used to go to the hospital and keep everyone hostage, and if anyone tried to leave, I'd shoot them.
There's a small patio at the apartments between the marina and the airport where you have really good cover, and can have really long standoffs as long as you don't get careless. You can't leave without getting killed, though, so your only option is to exit to online when you get bored or want to do something else.

Do cops actually patrol in the new versions ?
For some reason, I feel like I get cops on me for doing anything. I can't even really just mess around, because walking into somebody gives me a star. Kind of annoying imo

They have always patrolled, it's just so rare to see them anywhere but in the direct vicinity of a police station though.
Legion Square and the train station directly under the overpass are about the only non-police station areas that I can note regular appearances of any form of patrolling cop.
Foot officers seem to only spawn at stations no matter what, though.
