See if you can run Max Payne 3. GTA V will probably be slightly better looking than that.

Its hard to tell with DR3, that game is optimized like complete ass, like my computer should be able to run it perfectly but it doesn't
GTA V PC better be the most groundbreaking amazing port ever after all the time they have been working on it
Get a Intel i5-4690K, 8GB of RAM, and a 970. Should handle most games from here until the end of the generation.
Thanks. I should probably be asking this in the computer building section but is that all I would need, except for stuff like a case/keyboard/etc? How much cheaper could I go without sacrificing quality? Would it end up being easier or not largely more expensive to just buy a pre-built PC with those specs?

That's just specs. You'll want to look to someone else for the full computer-building tutorial.
Not GTA related, but it's as close as I have. I've been looking for this video on my computer for years, and I finally found it.
a 970 would still be utter overkill. The ps4 runs on the equivalent of a 660.
A console game is typically optimized to hell and back, however. The guarantee of homogeneous hardware means they can make a lot of optimizations which may have otherwise on PC had unexpected results across platforms.
you can't just slap a tilt-shift filter on every single shot and call it miniature
though it worked most of the time. a nice video

I think it's dumb that "Last Chopper Outta LS" requires two players and if one of you dies, the mission fails. I could easily do that mission by myself. Stop forcing me to make new friends, Rockstar.
We should split and make a thread for GTA V when it comes out on PC. After all, it's all this thread is gonna be filled with once it's out :v:
I thought Garry removed the post cap for threads?

You mean it's gonna be filled with GTA content? I don't see the problem.
GTA:SA updated today.
Not mine, thought it looked cool

I just took a very brief look at it.
1920x1080 is "back" ( I don't remember ever having as an option on steam).
Steer with mouse still defaulted to on.
I think Mouse inversion was defaulted to on.
Mouse wasn't working in the main menu, but as soon as I loaded a save the mouse started to respond correctly.
Also apparently they took out a lot of songs (from the reviews I read)

That was a month ago.
GTA:O on PS4 any better? Haven't bothered since I couldn't play it for like a week.

It's pretty much the same to be honest. Just the usual assholes killing you repeatedly. I have noticed massive frame drops though in areas with a lot of people fighting each other.
GTA 6 should be San Fierro in Late Sixties/Early Seventies. Imagine the music choices.

If they were doing that time period, it should be in Las Venturas instead. Vegas in that timezone would be rad to be around in and Vegas hasn't been that well represented in GTA yet. The LV in SA was a bit lackluster.

I like the idea of a mid-century Southern California setting. Something between LA Noire and San Andreas. They could do so much with the architecture of Eichler and Kahn; the furniture of Eames and Saarinen... And that's not even considering the Hollywood Regency and Brutalist movements. I want this so, so badly.
I still want Vice City to be brought into the HD Universe's standards.
I just don't want another GTA set in the present day don't wanna sound like a hipster but tbh the present is a boring setting for a GTA game.
Just want a GTA game set somewhere totally different :v:
You could do a lot with 50s-60s California too... I mean, that was the time when alcohol and barbiturates were a national past-time. When businessmen regularly went unhinged from their stressful lives. When the glitz and glamour of Hollywood hid a shady underbelly run by the mob. You could very easily have a Grand Theft Auto in that setting, and do it well. Maybe set it up like a movie from the Golden Age of Hollywood, sort of like how GTA:V is a B-grade action movie.
Didn't rockstar say they wanted to a GTA in the future?

The past is even more boring, other than a couple of interesting themes you're just limiting the things that you can play with in gameplay and music to listen to
2014 is great, there's lots of shit to do

Perhaps you can travel there with your mexican lawyer but get into some trouble and have to start working with the various casino families, eventually getting involved with a major drug dealing ring. You can take all sorts of drugs.
60's/70's GTA would be awful, no thanks, modern is great
