the one thing that stands out to me about that map, other than, "god, could you fucking imagine..." is the idea of getting in a car with someone who drives you to the center of the desert and kicks you out and you can't call for your car because there's no suitable roads nearby and you have to run all the way back to the highway
I'd actually really like seeing Rockstar do Vancouver, they'd have to have the cops say "sorry" every time they shoot you.
Always thought Vancouver would be amazing. The city is full of hills and wildlife. East Van, North Van, Stanley Park, Victoria Island? It's almost perfect for a GTA game
I would kill to have GTA V's map expanded to be like San Andreas' map, especially if it ended up like that one from GTAforums a while ago. [t]http://gta-real.com/_nw/17/02043877.jpg[/t] Or (even more optimistically) expanded to the entire US, a la The Crew. I would love to see all of the cities connected, and the incorporation of cities from other R* games, like Bullworth and Carcer City.
That image would be the best GTA game world imaginable... the amount of man-power required to make a world 3x the times of GTA V's would be astonishing. A game the size of the U.S would be practically impossible though, when having the amount of detail a GTA game typically does. I think size is overrated, anyway. Raw size is worthless when everything is homogeneous... Nobody would argue that Just Cause 2's world is better than the GTA games, because it's so boring and samey on a small scale.
We may get something like that once the pc version comes out. Seeing as how they managed to port SA's map into 4.
We may get something like that once the pc version comes out. Seeing as how they managed to port SA's map into 4.
There's a difference between having the engine technology to render such a huge world, and having the artists to create it. There's absolutely no way a mod team would manage to create a world of that size at any decent level of detail. All the modding community custom map projects have either been: 1. Tiny, or 2. Barren. What we might (hopefully) see, however, is something like a mod adding Liberty City to V'S game world, similar to GTA United: There's also things like engine map size limitations to worry about. These limitations are why GTA United doesn't have SA's map included too.

Does anyone in the facepunch crew get online anymore? I kind of want to switch crews, but if people start getting on, I don't want to leave my brethren behind.
GTA Carcer City could be cool. You would have to survive the downfall of American production in the rust belt while trying to dodge the plummeting property values, shrinking tax base, rising poverty and cut govt. services. You could have a nice little mix of Detroit, Pittsburgh, Johnstown, Augusta etc.
Next GTA game is probably going to be in a modern Vice City. But, I'd like to see a GTA game set in San Fierro or Las Venturas.
I'd rather see something new than any of the old cities remade.
I'd rather see something new than any of the old cities remade.
The problem with that is that it's always been those three cities since the very first game. I'd be willing to see something new after Vice City, but a lot of people like the evolution of those three over time and might not want to suddenly have a completely new place thrown in.
yeah but it's america apart from california, las vegas, new york and florida, most places here suck. also, mob and stuff. if anything, i'd like to see a gta game in moscow or volgograd.
To be honest, I would like to see a GTA set in Tokyo. The reason? Tokyo has one of the best highway network for racing super cars and shit.
I'd like to see one set in Chicago back when gangsters were rampant.
yeah but it's america apart from california, las vegas, new york and florida, most places here suck. also, mob and stuff. if anything, i'd like to see a gta game in moscow or volgograd.
And Florida? Florida sucks too, it's at the bottom of the list next to Wyoming and NJ. But yeah, there's nowhere left in modern USA other than SF & Vegas.
and there's a huge surrounding area of decent sized towns and smaller cities. It'd be interesting but I kind of doubt it.
Yeah, plus the whole sthick of GTA is the satire of USA so I'm honestly in doubt of GTA taking place anywhere else other than their own currently established cities ex: Liberty City, San Andreas, Vice City, they've sort of come full circle in that aspect with the beginning of GTA IV taking place in Liberty City again like GTA III Also, anyone know any good hip hop Twitch streamers that play GTA online? I need a fix until PC version releases
and there's a huge surrounding area of decent sized towns and smaller cities. It'd be interesting but I kind of doubt it.
I feel like a GTA game set in Vancouver would give Rockstar a chance to make a game that focuses on Asian organized crime and make an Asian protagonist. Because as far as I know Rockstar hasn't really explored Asian organized crime like the Triads and Yakuza as in depth as the could. Fuck I just want a GTA game that's focused around the Triads or Yakuza now.
Fuck I just want a GTA game that's focused around the Triads or Yakuza now.
Chinatown Wars was alright, I thought.
I want GTA in 1950's Las Venturas. Please.
Well, since they did the film setting idea, I wonder what a GTA-style game would be like in a foreign, rural setting like the Russian Caucasus villages. Some sort of combat game, naturally, like Battlefield but not a military style one. I found this while looking in a really left-out part of Russia :v: [t]http://i.hizliresim.com/yAAEmL.jpg[/t]
You don't have to go far from Moscow to see this. It would be boring though. How much time do you spend in V's desert? It might look very beautiful, but it is extremely empty (not that emptiness is a bad feeling to replicate in a video game, it just goes against many GTA's "principles")
Make an anime city instead. Please dont kill me
I wouldn't mind it being set in the shit hole area of Brazil.
London though.
I wouldn't mind it being set in the shit hole area of Brazil.
Rockstar have already made Max Payne 3.
I'd love to see Boston in the GTA universe. If they did Boston they could work with the New England setting and incorpeeate Bullworth as well. I feel like the writers at R* could have a field day with Boston and New England, it would be awesome.
I think New Orleans might make a good location. Would be similar to Vice City in a lot of ways, but I think they could make it unique enough, with surrounding bayou and water ways. Though a city I'd really like to see in an open world game, GTA or not, is a mountain city, like Charleston, West Virginia. I drove through there this summer, and I can't but help but think that a tight, valley city with multiple levels up the sides of the mountain, surrounded by road racing ready interstates, with a river running through the middle could make for a lot of interesting gameplay.

San Andreas had the best map imo. I mean obviously the level of detail was way worse and it's not better in every aspect but the whole things with 3 major cities, some smaller towns and a lot of various space in between was really great.
