San Andreas had the best map imo. I mean obviously the level of detail was way worse and it's not better in every aspect but the whole things with 3 major cities, some smaller towns and a lot of various space in between was really great.
I wrote up on reddit why the map of V actually felt smaller than SA's at times:
Well, GTA SA had better countryside design too IMO. There were dozens of tiny little communities scattered around, but in GTA V there are only a few larger ones. The fact that you unlock areas slowly helps too. You don't get to know the map as fast, so just as soon as you start to realize one, you suddenly change areas and everything is new, making the world seem larger as you've gone around in yet another pretty huge area without constantly seeing the same landmarks over and over again. GTA SA's missions were spread out better, too. In V there are DOZENS of unseen, unused areas, some of which are pretty complex. SA used up a lot more, which made the game seem all a lot bigger IMO GTA V has a lot more empty space too, quite a few mountains are very empty, and even mount chiliad is pretty bland other than the stuff at the top. In SA chiliad had lots of trees on chiliad, flat bits on the side, and more windy roads etc that made it take longer to get up. SA had more variety too. There were a lot more forests, more interesting areas in general, more windy roads, and so on. All vehicles were a lot slower too, iirc. GTA V still has a great world, with more content than SA, but, it's all spread out with emptiness in between. The map is not huge enough as, say, Just Cause 2's to create the feeling of size, but isn't as windy and complex as GTA SA to give an illusion of size either. Hopefully GTA VI will get the balance right - R* are making more complex world than any other game dev, and as any modding group will assure you, you need a lot of artists to even manage a smallish world.
Rockstar have already made Max Payne 3.
Oh yeah, I forgot, nevermind the. :P
Still waiting for someone to accept my request to join the FP crew on PS4 :v:
How about a post Great War 1920s Jazz Age setting for GTA? I think it would be interesting setting: wallstreet and mass production, speakeasies and prohibiton, corrupt policeand the untouchables, palmer raids, Red Scare and american nationalism. I don't see why it wouldn't work in a GTA game.

i hope this triggers the feminists https://twitter.com/EddieLTU/status/542729485469380608
i hope this triggers the feminists https://twitter.com/EddieLTU/status/542729485469380608
I think you completely misunderstood what happened. It wasn't just feminists, it was a group of sex-workers, wasn't it? They thought the game was scary and as such did a petition, to which Target Australia was stupid enough to answer. It wasn't dumb, what they did, it was dumb what Target AU did. [editline]10th December 2014[/editline] Also why smack your bum at them and yell "come at me bro"? Stupid and unnecessary. You should be telling them why taking the games out of shops is wrong, not be a complete twit.
i hope this triggers the feminists https://twitter.com/EddieLTU/status/542729485469380608
Yea, that's the kind of things that make situations worse.
oh well, deleted the tweet since that was a dick move
I wrote up on reddit why the map of V actually felt smaller than SA's at times:
Yeah, it seems that the world design while done much better in terms of tech and detail, it's worse thought through than it was in SA.
i think the main issue with GTA V's world is that you've got the huge bustling city to the south and then nothing of note up north in the massive desert. in SA you started in Los Santos and could drive through the forest eventually stumbling upon San Fierro. then afterwards you could leave San Fierro and start driving around the desert, eventually seeing Los Venturas on the horizon. there just doesn't feel like there's a reason to explore the wilderness and desert in V because there's really nothing to see other than some small towns with literally nothing of note in them.
L.A. Noire? Mafia II?
Those are post WW2 40s and 50s. They didn't have prohibition, which I think is a rarely touched subject in games.
One of the main reasons I'd like to see a sixties GTA would be that the game and its updates wouldn't just contain generic super cars and modern tacticool weapons. I really would like some more "analogue" weapons in GTA V like revolvers and rugged weapons with wooden parts.

I wish Blaine County got more attention online. You never see people there. They're always having a war within the general vicinity of the LSC in the middle of town.

Hey, the greek site Alt-Tab says GTA 5 on PC is being ported by the ones who ported Max Payne 3 and will run on 60 FPS. Is it true?
Hey, the greek site Alt-Tab says GTA 5 on PC is being ported by the ones who ported Max Payne 3 and will run on 60 FPS. Is it true?
I don't think we'll see any evidence of that, but Rockstar Vancouver(Now Rockstar Toronto) did do the port for PC MP3, and it was an excellent port. Rockstar has them at their beck and call so not using them would be a really bad choice on their part.
So is the Steam version of San Andreas the remastered version now? I really want to play it again, but last time I tried it was completely broken with the controls and glitches and shit. [editline]asdf[/editline] Are there any patches to fix the games and make them playable at least? I've wanted to play VC and SA specifically, since I played them as a kid but never really played them properly.
Hey, the greek site Alt-Tab says GTA 5 on PC is being ported by the ones who ported Max Payne 3 and will run on 60 FPS. Is it true?
Games on pc generally run as fast as the individual pc allows. Every pc is different. Every ps4 is the same.

Is it true?
I don't think Max Payne 3 was a port, but hopefully this is true. The PC version of Mp3 was fantastic. I ran it at 60 on my old 5770 a while ago.
Games on pc generally run as fast as the individual pc allows. Every pc is different. Every ps4 is the same.
I think the point was that many console ports are capped to 30fps.
I don't think Max Payne 3 was a port, but hopefully this is true. The PC version of Mp3 was fantastic. I ran it at 60 on my old 5770 a while ago.
Max Payne 3 was developed along side the console version (probably why it was so well optimised). It seems the same could be said for GTA V, especially considering the earliest mention of the pc version was 2012. I can't imagine that they would just waste all of that extra development time for nothing.
If it's like Max Payne 3 level of optimization then I'll probably end up getting it a 3rd time, only on PC I'll wait for sales. :v:

Any news on the new video editing features for the PC release?
You know, with all this talk of new cities for the next GTA games, they'd really be missing an opportunity with GTA VI and Vice City. y'know cuz VI(CE)
You know, with all this talk of new cities for the next GTA games, they'd really be missing an opportunity with GTA VI and Vice City. y'know cuz VI(CE)
GTA VIce City sounds like some fake thing someone would make on youtube to be honest.
They don't need to make it GTA VI. It could be a spin-off like the original Vice City and San Andreas, since those are also technically considered spin-offs of GTA III.
So uh, every time i go to the PlayStation store tab in GTA Online to get my 500.000$ from the pre-order deal it just says "The Playstation store is unavailable", I have got this issue since the game launched so im fairly sure its a issue on my end, tried to use the rockstar games support but their response was to Log into gta online, go to the playstation store tab and redeem the pack ... hell dont they get i cant even access it ):
