Its still faster than downloading it. And hard drives are faster than disk drives, games really wouldn't be playable on disk drives. The question is why does installing something on modern hardware take 6 hours??

And it doesn't take 6 hours to install. Took me a little under an hour. Would you like to go back to the 80's? Perhaps play some cartridge games with a whopping 2mb storage capacity? Be thankful for what you got man.
The whole concept of "the cloud", and downloading everything is really annoying. It's like the video game industry just assumes that everyone has google fiber and it won't be an issue.
Still no pre-order. Still no requirements. Game will be delayed. Every day until you like it. We're dying here we're all dying.

even though I severely doubt the game will be delayed for PC, that doesn't really mean anything. The people that run support don't know squat.
All sorts of shit. I used to be upper-middle-class in TF2. Buildups of promo things people wanted and sometimes I just got a lucky unbox or craft like when I crafted the #66 Nose Candy, things like that. Now I've got like, a Cheater's Lament and other untradable shit. The only things I haven't sold are my Companion Cube pin since a friend bought Portal 2 for me way back, and my Vintage Fancy Fedora since that was my first hat. Got it from the same friend in exchange for if I ever found the Magistrate's Mullet I'd give it to her. Also CS:GO items and Trading Cards.
thanks for the idea i haven't played tf2 probably in 2 years, sold off all my shit, sold off dota shit, sold off trading cards - got enough dosh to buy 2 AAA games on release
I don't understand why they can't just let the game play straight from the disc like the old days. It completely defeats the purpose of physical copies.
The main reason is disk read speeds. For a game like GTA, reading solely from the disk would have a lot of pop-in and even longer loading times.
So I'm sitting at 52% after 3 hours. It's also been at 52 for half an hour

When i installed gta 5 to my ps3 it took me less than an hour lol
ps3
key word
key word
When i installed gta 5 to my ps4 it took me less than an hour lol
Yea I'm with these guys. It took me less than an hour on PS4, and X360 (migrated from Micro$oft to Sony). If you're stuck after 3 hours...something is terribly wrong.
When I installed it on my ps4 I was upset that the game didn't use the ps4's co-processor for a streaming install as I played

it took mine almost a full day to download, but it was preload so I wasn't missing out on anything.
Disc or download?
Considering how big the games are these days, physical all the way.
for some reason my infernus slides all over and the handling is complete shit now [editline]6th January 2015[/editline] and it just started today
Considering how big the games are these days, physical all the way.
Mine was digital, since I'm just playing it by logging into my uncle's PSN account, launching it, and switching back over to mine to play until PC. [editline]6th January 2015[/editline] Do car physics change when in first person I feel like they do, it's weird.
Speaking of "pop in", I can't help but feel that it's become worse and worse as the updates come along. Whereas before it was just signs and shit, now it's entire buildings and roads, which usually means a long pause as it rushes to load in. fucksake I've seen it load shit, unload it, then lag as it loads it back in. what gives?
Were you by any chance chased by some dude with a cat mask and a chick on a bike today?
Nah haven't played in a few weeks
Oh hey, it just finished...right as I need to go to bed :l
is anyone else having trouble getting online? the rockstar support page says the servers are up, but my game says that the "rockstar services are unavailable right now" and it doesn't even seem to be trying to connect.
I don't understand why they can't just let the game play straight from the disc like the old days. In some cases it would just flat out lock up. Now imagine 4 times the data on a slower medium

On my current save as Franklin up in Blaine County, when I load the game, the wheels are missing on the Western Bagger he's sitting on, and they take about 1-2 seconds to finally show up. (PS3)

The grind to 70 is getting pretty rough, although i can blast through alot of missions solo with my buzzard alone but its more of a saving grace because the connection issues mean that typically i only get joined up with one other person.
I never really listened to the stations in GTA IV, especially in the EFLC. But holy fuck what a mistake I made, there's so much amazing stuff
I kind of wish you could make your character fire their gun in the air to scare people. I just want to walk into the strip club and fire an uzi in the air like in The Hangover 2

I always wished you could hold the uzi or pistols with one hand when you fire with just the right trigger.
