The 2 other coming trailers look more interesting :

Car from SR1 (forgot the name) and a new weird gun.
Also, would be cool if you could shrink yourself too like in Duke Nukem so you can hide under cars or some shit.
Defend the powers all you want, using the same map, clothes and NPCs is still pathetic for a sequel
"but it isn't the same map"
Yes it fucking is, random alien structures scattered around the map doesn't make a completely new playing environment
then just think of it as a stand-alone expansion pack, like Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, or Assassins Creed: Brotherhood and Revelations.
Except it has a fully new campaign instead of a half assed one that's only half as long, and a whole shitton of new content and features that actually improve the game significantly.
ITT people arguing about sequels using the same stuff from previous games, yet probably didn't with lots of other games, like CoD, Ass creed.... hl2 and eps.
People shit on CoD all the time.

A lot do but they don't whine about same animations, just the fact that it's cod...
Why fix what isn't broken is not a good enough excuse to reuse pretty much every asset from 3
I have 400 hours in 3, I don't want to see 3 anymore, I don't want to play 3 anymore, I want a completely new and refreshing Saints Row experience; its not the fact of a sequel using stuff from the old games its the fact that they are using the old game as a sequel
I can already emulate IV in 3, just download Sanbox+ and enable superpowers

CTRL + INSERT = Toggle Super Powers
Go nuts
Yeah I'm sure the story is 100% new but what happens after the story?
Dumps you into free roam and guess what its just the same map with all the old shit + gimmicks

So free-roaming in a different city with the same shitty gimmicks would be good enough for you?

Saints Row 1 and 2.
Holy shit, why does everyone fucking say this.
So free-roaming in a different city with the same shitty gimmicks would be good enough for you?
Literally anything different would be a start; give Call of Duty all the shit you want but at least Modern Warfare 2 didn't rip half the campaign out of 1 mostly unchanged and call it new
People talk crap about CoD for just being a new map pack every year but at least they changed the goddamn maps
Jaros talked about the time during THQ's bankruptcy. He says the difference between Deep Silver and other groups that were investigating a purchase was night and day. They walked in and out of their offices and essentially said OK. It turns out, they were fans of what Volition was doing. One unnamed publisher seemed hesitant about Saints Row IV's superpowers, while it was a plus to Deep Silver. Jaros says Deep Silver has been hands off on the creative side, which has been amazing.
Knew it. Thank you Deep Silver! <3

CoD is a linear game and MP maps are small as fuck so of course they must make new maps at each game. Saints Row is set in an open world. keeping the same map but giving it changes can be enough to make all the difference.
Edit : I rather have a game set in the same place with a different storyline and content than a new environment with nothing else new.
This "SR3.5" bullshit is getting old.
This "SR3.5" bullshit is getting old.
We haven't exactly been convinced otherwise
the map has changed a lot in order for it to work well with the superpowers, and there are new NPCs with more SR2-ish behavior
but meh, fuck research right?
We haven't exactly been convinced otherwise
pretty much everyone here except for you have

You shouldn't have to do research to find out if a sequel is a copy paste or not, that is not a thing that should happen

you could say the same thing about SR2 and SR1
[editline]22nd July 2013[/editline]
That Comic Con video officially confirmed Nolan North as a voice.

reusing old assets is a legitimate game development trick
it frees up loads of time that can be spent adding actually new things, and polish everything, instead of spending 99% of development time re-inventing the wheel.

You have to draw a line somewhere, what we have here is Saints Row 3 with a different storyline and superpowers
You have to draw a line somewhere, what we have here is Saints Row 3 with a different storyline and superpowers
Stalker games, what we have here is stalker soc with different story lines and artifacts.
You have to draw a line somewhere, what we have here is Saints Row 3 with a different storyline and superpowers
The trailers are showing me potential space battles, wandering in a spaceship and a mission in the White House.
And why are people saying Steelport is exactly the same? Alien structures, a bunch of signature skyscrapers being missing, a 50s reintrepetation and who knows what else? I hardly think this'll be the exact same thing over again.
You have to draw a line somewhere, what we have here is Saints Row 3 with a different storyline and superpowers
Are you for real?
I feel like the SR3 pedestrians were bugged.
I say this because they have dialogue suggesting fighting back, as well as a quick fists animation.
I feel like a lot of the pedestrian problems are just minor bugs that Volition never ironed out.
You have to draw a line somewhere, what we have here is Saints Row 3 with a different storyline and superpowers
What we have here is Saints Row 3, with shittons of new content, multiple completely new gameplay mechanics, a completely new storyline with tons of new locations, completely new enemies, Johnny Gat, and a modified version of the old Steelport.
I'm okay with this.
geez all these new posts-oh its just some blabbering idiot who looks at a few trailers and thinks sr4 is just cancelled dlc. :/
You have to draw a line somewhere, what we have here is Saints Row 3 with a different storyline and superpowers
And guck loads of new content including, but not limited to: future dlc, new characters, dialogue, clothing, the damn dubstep gun, and Nolan North.
You have to draw a line somewhere, what we have here is Saints Row 3 with a different storyline and superpowers
What we have here is Saints Row 1 with a different storyline and female characters.
stop
Seriously, stop. Just, stop. You're being incredibly ignorant.
what the hell Majora's Mask isn't even new they just reused old assets
more like Ocarina of Time 1.5
