He's allowed to be critical of how the game looks, though.

Personally I think it looks rather good and will be buying it, but even I would say that fundamentally it's the same city as SR3, with some minor additions. Obviously SR2 did this as well for the most part with Stilwater, and the new movement mechanics with superpowers in SR4 may be a game-changer, but I'm not going to base my whole evaluation of 'is this good or not' on IdolNinja's opinion.

Because same location =/= same map. Liberty City was rebuilt completely from the ground up.

Also LC/SA were good maps. Steelport... wasn't.

What are you talking about? Those games have major differences.

I'm sure SR4 will be a lot more different than SR3 just as SR2 was a completely new game from SR1.

Vice City was good, LC was gray and colorless, SA was just boring.
Oh and Steelport in SRIV is not vanilla. They changed it.
You want EVERYTHING new? Then wait for SR5.

steelport may not be stilwater 2.0, but i had tons of fun with it, especially when LANing with a friend and just fucking around

i'm sure that the superpowers and the changes that come with them will be wonderful

A better comparison would be SR1 -> SR2. The same map, people complained it was just more of the same but wackier. Now it's hailed as the pinnacle of the series.
