Saints Row IV - From the Crack House to the White House

One of my biggest pet peeves is hearing people compare the gang members of SR2 to SR3. Mainly, "Oh, the gang members in SR2 were so much more diverse and cool than in SR3!".
I'd like to refute that argument. I feel like the (street) gang members in SR2 were static and boring compared to the SR3 gang members, hell, even the SR1 gang members. For Saints Row 2, we have in the Ronin: Generic male Asian, Generic female Asian, and generic wanabe Asian white guy. All their body sizes and such are exactly the same. In the Brotherhood, you have generic black guy, generic white guy, and generic female characters. Again, their body sizes are completely similar. Finally, in the Samedi, we have generic rasta white male, generic rasta black male, and generic female characters. Again, no different in body size than anyone else you fight. They also had no personality, and barely spoke anything. You'd shoot them, and they'd fall down and die. No grunts or screams or anything.
However, in Saints Row 3, every gang member was distinguishable. The Morning Star had easy-to-recognize long faces, scarfs, and huge tits. They also had a special Sniper class who would try and kill you from helicopter from above. Remember: Saints Row 2 had no special enemies. The body types of the Morningstar were pretty thin males, but average sized females (however, they had massive tits).
The Deckers were a bit on the generic side, as you'd have mostly a bunch of British guys and gals in glowing jackets. But they were interesting and unique because of their facial makeup. Both guys and girls had distinguishable makeup on their faces. Their special unit was also quite interesting. These badass rollerblading girls are hard to forget. In my opinion, they're the most fun to fight out of all the gangs. Plus, their personalities are unique, as they'd taunt you everytime they get near you.
The Luchadores are different because they're the only gang with no female members (makes sense). However, they stand out more because they have muscular body types and larger body types. Yes, they're you're typical white and black dudes, but they stand out much more than any SR2 gang member because of their body types and their masks. Their special unit has the thickets body, but they're also the strongest.
The thing I hated about SR2 is that fat people were a rare sight. In SR1, fat people were all around, mingling with the normal sized person. SR2 had no fat gang members, and no thin gang members. They were all your average joe. In SR1, the gang members were all just simple color reskins, but at least they have big white guy, big black buy, big Asian, average sized white guy, black guy, and Asian, and white girl and black girl. That's a ton more diverse than anything SR2's gang members had to offer.
I'm probably missing something, I just spent ten minutes on this shit and it's not actually my revised analyzation of it.
Gang leaders are a different story, and I'll have to analyze them another time.
I'm going to wait until SR4 comes out before I do a complete analysis. I've already 100% SR1 just recently, and now I'm working on SR2 on my Xbox. I've also been too busy to actually just sit down and write (also, I'm a shit writer).
Question. You can get one of those survival wave diversion phone calls in SR3 before you get Kinzie. The caller sounds a lot like Kinzie, and she is talking about the Deckers messing with some wires that can destroy the Saintsbook or something. Is this actually Kinzie?
i overall prefer SR2s combat, sue me
why? no quicktime events

Same here.
[sp]the final fight with killbane was so disappointing imo, in the cutscene he talks about how he's going to crush your throat with his bare hands but in the QTE he doesn't resist in any way even if you don't do it all fluently[/sp]

[sp]He's a wrestler, they always talk smack but in the end they're pretty weak and can be taken down pretty quickly.
Not saying it shouldn't have been made better, but it kinda makes sense when you think of it like that.[/sp]

[sp]Killbane should have been more like Maero. The Boss actually had a tough time taking him out. Killbane is a pussy[/sp]
Im going to preorder IV at the end of the month on Steam. Really hard choice between awesome boxart or TF2 skins. Went with the skins. Also going to eat the season pass ASAP,10 bucks for being able to use a weapon outside of its mission and 2 mission packs, one of which includes [sp]a Bolllywood dance song and a mountable firebreathing dragon[/sp],is amazing value.

Wtf im not going to eat the season pass
Meant buy.
Thats why you shouldnt post when you're hungry.
I'd eat a seasoned pass

[sp]Not only that but he lifted her into the air first.[/sp]
it still pisses me off that you can literally not do ANYTHING in the [sp]killbane[/sp] QTE and still win the "fight"
i wasn't even touching my controller and my boss was just throwing [sp]killbane[/sp] around like he was nothing, and i ended up still winning
i don't think there's even a reward for doing it well, the whole thing feels so lazy and cheap to me
unrelated, but [sp]i wish the Daedalus fight was the final mission for save shaundi rather than kill killbane
it seems like the better ending to save your homies, deal one final blow to stag, and make all of steelport a saints stronghold
with what gat said at the beginning of the game about selling out, the gangstas in space mission feels almost like an insult[/sp]
Agreed. [sp]The Daedalus mission would have been a much more epic finale had it been the save shaundi ending.[/sp]
Interesting to note that the person the Boss choses to kill in either endgame decision berates the Boss for reasons opposite to the choice you made
For example, Kia accuses you of always letting your friends die, which is what would've happened had you chosen to go after Killbane
Killbane calls you out on being a washed up media sellout, which is what the Gangstas in Space mission confirms had you chosen to save Shaundi, Viola, and Burt
Who do I ask to delete my Saintsrow.com accounts?
I personally still think that SR3 could have been one giant meta Saints movie.

[sp]Wasn't it implied it might have been during the whole "Gangstas in Space" DLC with all the sets of all the major parts of the game?[/sp]

I never understood why [sp]Gat calls the Saints sellouts when he has his own comic book series.[/sp]

Hope this works.

[sp]I think he's feeling the same way about himself as well as the rest of the Saints. He doesn't say it, but I think he's starting to feel disappointed in himself as well for all his "corporate whore"ing under the Saints name.[/sp]
I recieved an email from Saints Row newsletter, thanking me for preordering.
Acording to it, preorderers will also get these presidential masks :

Same here. It better be.
I remember reading that, during the Comiccon SR4 panel, they said that while Male 1 did the master audio for SR3 (AKA everyone else followed his example or were constrained to the time he did the line), Female 1 is the master audio for 4, due to occasionally poor timings by his part. The only one who had a trouble with hers was Female 3, because a french accent is really long.
Not particularly interesting, but it wasn't in that 30 minutes that were shown a few pages back so I decided to share it here.
When is that Season Pass supposed to come out? I don't see it on Steam
I just found out Eliza Dushku won't be playing Old Shaundi, sad now.
