It kind of looks like those super powers have made vehicles completely useless as a method of transportation.
Even the speedrun superpower they showed look useless since you can fly.
Yeah, I hope the superpowers will be kinda limited by something, like a superpower bar. Otherwise it is like, lol fuck yeah go running 'round the town as an OP unkillable fuck. Feels like you just start up as an overpowered Jesus and then run around killing cops (YOU ARE THE FUCKING PRESIDENT, WHY ARE COPS AFTER YOU?)
Even the speedrun superpower they showed look useless since you can fly.
That looked more like gliding. [editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
(YOU ARE THE FUCKING PRESIDENT, WHY ARE COPS AFTER YOU?)
Because you're not in the real world? Are we looking at the same game?
Because you're not in the real world? Are we looking at the same game?
Oh right, the Virtual World. Didn't listen much :v: Still hyped. Waiting for it woo.
That looked more like gliding.
If there's one thing Prototype taught me, it is that jumping insanely high and gliding combined is almost as good as flying.
That looked more like gliding.
Falling with style.
Well, President Eisenhower did say "Anyone who wants to be President is either an Egomaniac or Crazy"
I can't say too much due to NDA, but SR4 is one hell of a huge step up from SRTT with tons of fanservice for fans of the original Saints Row and Saints Row 2. Saints Row 2 is still the king in my heart though. :)
Is SR4 better than the first?
6 minutes of gameplay
Eeh, I don't even know... Too much dubstep, I hope not everything in the soundtrack will be dubstep. But the game looks like boosted SR3, which is fine for me.
I remember going to PAX East and seeing this demo When I put on the headphones, that hiphop version of Hail to the Chief started playing and it was the funniest fucking thing
if our lord and savior idolninja approves of it, it can't be all bad

Looks like Saints Row 3.5 to be perfectly honest. I'm not saying that's the game in a nutshell, but they're really gonna have to stop beating around the bush, and fully thrust their package into the limelight, if it's truly as big as they say.
lol reddit hates it apparently They're claiming it could be done in one DLC I highly doubt that there's a good way to go about adding more story and challenges with new medal systems and implement the new weapon customization along with new moves and all the new weaponry into one DLC. Not to mention the voices and fact that it would be virtually impossible to create a feasible way of having the entire world overrun by those alien things without annoying the player (just imagine if the game cut off all access to your open world in SR3 for that after the game ended or having to wait to 100% the main world to open it without ruining your game) If this is Saints Row 3 + all this new shit and new story, then they are doing us a favor by not adding every big change as a $10-20 DLC. I don't know where reddit gets off thinking this would be a practical DLC release, since it would not only be expensive as fuck but hard to implement, but it sounds like their main beef is the graphics aren't L33T enough, and that they think 7 minutes of free roam can show them the entire game. [editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
Is SR4 better than the first?
Has anyone even played the first saints row?
I played the first to be honest apart from the story it sucked, SR2 was great though

[editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
I played the first to be honest apart from the story it sucked, SR2 was great though
I haven't even been able to find videos of people playing it. Edit: What system do you guys play SR2 on? So far I haven't gotten into the PC version very well except before SR3, should I be getting it on PS3 or something
I played the first to be honest apart from the story it sucked, SR2 was great though
I watched a complete story LP of SR1 and it didn't look like a very fun game.
if SR4 is to SR3 what SR2 is to SR1, it will be good
6 minutes of gameplay
A few thoughts: All of the media I've seen in this game shows Steelport as dark and gloomy. I hope that it always isn't like this. Those two guns, the Inflate-O-Ray and the Dubstep gun seem cool but I've seen them done before and I feel like they would get old fast. That said, they did say that this was only a couple of the crazy weapons so I can't give them shit for giving us cool things to do. Infuego XL. Please tell me I can make any car I damn please into a monster truck. I remember this part of Steelport, the part where Shaundi's Ex's crib is with the Friendly Fire around the corner. That said, maybe I'm going crazy but later in the trailer it looks like there's an entire new island and a bridge leading to it that I don't recognize. I hope the map isn't totally the same. The vertical element he discusses also makes me optimistic. I like the ability to change weapon styles, but I hope we can do more things like downgrade, dual and single wield on demand, etc. Some days you just don't want a fart in a jar. "We decided that Saints Row needs a mech." I agree. Like someone mentioned before, there needs to be a limiting factor on superpowers. However, the gentleman talking explained that enemies would be powerful and challenge the player. If this is true, I'm glad that they added superpowers or else the game would've probably played too much like the original. Having a new element of combat in the mix will help to make the game interesting again. Especially when he says we can mix and match powers with guns, that opens up dozens of gameplay styles and loadout possibilities. One of the most interesting parts of customization in SR3 I found was how different my loadout was from each of my friends; we each had very distinct gameplay styles and I'm glad to see opportunities to make those differences even more extreme and varied. We're not talking customization of clothes or cars anymore, we're talking about having the ability to completely tailor the way you approach and play the game, and that thought tickles me.
At first, I thought the dubstep gun was an incredibly obnoxious idea, but I find it strangely hilarious how the drop causes physical pain.
One thing I'm hoping, Mech Customization, ala weapon changing and some other little things like colour and shit.
I hope the dubstep gun can have customizable music
yo, idolninja, when are you off of that NDA? i really want to know what made you like SRIV.
I hope the dubstep gun can have customizable music
Watch, people are gonna use drum and bass and break the game
Watch, people are gonna use drum and bass and break the game
Well, not so much that you can insert music, but you can choose from a selection of songs
i'd imagine that dubstep gun to get damn annoying if it was the same song over and over
I like the dubstep gun concept, only thing I want is to use different music with it.
dunno if you guys noticed, but the little blue shit spiked when the song got more intense, so maybe it'll be more powerful if you hit a dude during the drop.
Did any of you notice the strange pixelation on objects in the dubstep gun segment? Was that because of the weapon itself or because of the whole game being inside a simulation?
i really hope that they'll do more with the "simulation" aspect of the game instead of just making it an excuse to have aliens n'shit. oh my god ohm y god i would literally pay volition 1000 dollars if they did this: the regular game plays like saints row 2, but there's a videogame you can play... that is saints row 4.
