Man, FL1PPY could be a dog whisperer with all that bitching.
Well that's fair enough, but the fact that they're re-using the city (albeit as a simulation with some new, very vertical parts) only compounds the feeling of samey-ness. I mean there may be more locations we just haven't been shown, but as of now it doesn't seem particularly impressive.
Especially since Steelport in SR3 is probably one of the most bland and uninteresting open world city I've ever seen.
FL1PPY is like the trial by fire right now.
Really? It makes your character into a (well moreso) complete sociopath. No no, let your closest friends in the world die and your reputation fall to pieces, leading to the utter annihilation of Steelport by the Daedalus, to go after a man you've completely humiliated time and time again, just to kill him after he's lost all power against you. Killbane was dead when you unmasked him and got rid of his luchadors.
Saving Shaundi is the more fitting ending, while The Boss is fucking mental when around his enemies and especially people who betray him, he's also fiercely protective of his allies. But I don't care, Killbane and the Deadalus are way more climactic, even if the Killbane fight is a fucking quick time event of all things.
Especially since Steelport in SR3 is probably one of the most bland and uninteresting open world city I've ever seen.
It's not very realistic either. Whereas Stilwater felt like a living breathing city with actual locales to visit, Steelport felt like a dev map with a city theme texture applied to it
-snip-
I'd like co-op to actually have impact on the plot -- having two bosses made SRTT's climax a little ridiculous. Why not have the two bosses split up and take care of both Killbane AND Burt Reynolds?
If there's going to be another "Whored Mode" I hope it's not complete shit, it was awful in Saints Row 3, I saw absolutely no point in playing it.

Even if you hate dubstep you gotta admit that's a kickass weapon. Imagine super crashing into a stronghold and forcing every enemy to dance against their will until you put them out of their misery.

That's weird, by looking at the trailers and gameplay, I didn't recognized most of places of Steelport. The only familiar things I noticed were the big animated signs of downtown, the place with Shaundi's ex BF apartment and the 3 count killbane sign. And they apparently removed the big syndicate neon buildings. I also have a slight hope that the simulated Steelport will not be the only open world place. Some bits of the trailer seemed to take place somewhere else, including Washington.

Rather than have them disappear in cutscenes.
I'd like the game to acknowledge the co-op partner in cutscenes. I'm a classic pistols n' headshots type of guy. When I got the final upgrade for the .45 Shepherd I noticed that the bullet damage was completely changed into explosive damage. This was great for vehicles, especially helicopters, but I noticed that I was no longer getting one hit kill headshots. Granted I had like a dozen other alternatives that could, but I still wish that I could use the Shepherd as a lean, mean headshotting machine again because the Kobra just doesn't feel the same. [editline]11th May 2013[/editline] Also for my friend, the upgrades to the M2 Grenade Launcher actually made the gun worse. Grenades would no longer explode on contact in a group, it would stick to enemies who would then scatter, making them lose effectiveness.
I'm thinking Washington DC will only be in cutscenes

The shotguns and SMGs are complete shit in SR3. Shotguns do almost nothing unless used point blank and SMGs are too inaccurate and not very powerful until you get all the upgrades. (the VR SMG is a bit better however) I hope they'll make these type of weapons more useful anf fun to use in SR4.
didnt the flashbang upgrade into some dumb fart in a jar? some of the upgrades were incredibly situational and had pretty much no use.
The fart in the jar was actually more functional at least. It looked dumb but it still worked.
The fart in the jar was actually more functional at least. However, after word of it spread, the resulting fan interest was so great that the weapon was put back in, and is present in the final version of the game.

How is a fart in a jar considered too over the top? If anything I'm disappointed in how not-really-over-the-top Saints Row 3 (and 4 by the looks of it) is. 4 is getting there though, but seeing as they seemingly plan to take it in a new direction in the 5th installment I doubt we'll see the point where it's actually reached true levels of over-the-top.

Saints Row 3 was too over the top, while Saints Row 2 Was the perfect amount. In Saints Row 2, doing something crazy was actually cool and surprising, but in Saints Row 3, everything was constantly crazy and silly, so nothing felt special.
If anything I'm disappointed in how not-really-over-the-top Saints Row 3 (and 4 by the looks of it) is.
....Really.
I'm still interested in how the fuck The Boss became President
I'm still interested in how the fuck The Boss became President
I assume he bribed his way through with the massive fucking amount of cash he probably had after 100%ing SR3 that he couldnt use on anything. [editline]12th May 2013[/editline] Or Cheatcodes.
some of the upgrades were incredibly situational and had pretty much no use.
The final upgrade to the Saints' shotgun gave it incendiary ammo. So when I was in a firefight and my homies were blasting away with their shotguns, bad guys would get set on fire and then run into me and then set me on fire. That was far from ideal.

Falling through the sky in a tank, zombie infections, giant Russian muscleman clones, use of high grade military weapons, destroying skyscraper buildings, running through courses murdering people on a TV show, Gothic Tron hacker gangs, Mexican wrestlers gang, driving around on a flaming ATV blowing up things you crash into, giant starships and high-tec military laser tanks/jets. That's all mundane, every day shit right?
