hokeymon dlc confirmed
Total Biscuit saying how Cars are pointless, to be honest, whenever I played a game like Prototype or whatever, I always wanted to drive around but I didn't have the option of doings so, now I do in Saints Row IV, so I'm sorted. :v: [editline]14th August 2013[/editline]
Is it just me or does SR1 look SIGNIFICANTLY better visually than SR2 does?
Saints Row 2 had that ugly as fuck bloom, if it wasn't for that it would've been alot better looking.

"I don't have to do this thing. Clearly it makes the game worse." So you don't have to drive cars, so what? What about people who like driving cars or flying helicopters? You don't need guns either now that you can just freeze enemies and shatter them or pick them up and fling them across the map. Personally I'm the kind of person who prefers to limit myself. I don't use the airstrikes or guided missiles in SR3 much because they take the challenge out of the game, and the game isn't really hard in the first place. I don't complain that there's over the top shit because I can choose not to use it, just like others can choose not to use the more mundane things I enjoy. I could understand if they had to take extra development time to add shit like car customisation but all that shit exists already, and anything that keeps the art team busy and adds more content is fine by me.
im gonna drive around in missions and such because cars are cool, but probably when im just exploring/looking for collectables, ill use powers Ill probably rarely use them for combat though unless im outnumbered severally [editline]14th August 2013[/editline] also, the whole thing with people bitching about cars was already answered in saints row 3, when you get a vtol/spectre, whats the point of driving anymore when you can just fly around? personal preference, thats what :v:
idolninja uploaded a fuckton of screenshots of SRIV: http://idolninja.saintsrowmods.com/sr4/ nothing super spoilery but there are some unlockable outfits and vague mission shots
Gamespot reviewer is retarded. She gave SR3 an 8.5 but SR4 a 7.5? I sometimes don't understand reviewer logic.
Gamespot reviewer is retarded. She gave SR3 an 8.5 but SR4 a 7.5? I sometimes don't understand reviewer logic.
Just because a game is a sequel doesn't mean it's better. (And no I'm not saying SR4 is a bad game, I plan on purchasing it further down the line)
Why does it being a simulation bother you? It's already a game where nothing you do matters anyway. The entire point is to have fun with gameplay. I wouldn't say SR games are immersive.
Gamespot reviewer is retarded. She gave SR3 an 8.5 but SR4 a 7.5? I sometimes don't understand reviewer logic.
Maybe Deep Silver didn't put as many zeros on the review check as THQ did.
On the party time mission (SR:TT), if you're fast enough, you can skip the part where you have to chase the lieutenant through the warehouse. All you have to do is stay close to him until he starts to land, at which point you should jump out of your helicopter and use the parachute to safely and quickly land. all you have to do then is shoot him with the pistol (or any other weapon) so he stumbles until you get close enough to grab him.
I've been watching a lot of video and first impressions, and frankly... This game's not looking good. I've never been a fan of the whole superpowers and simulation, and presidency crap, but I was willing to give it a try- give the game the benefit of the doubt. But none of the game seems coherent- and not in a clever way. Like, why is the even the option to drive cars? never mind all of the customization they have to offer? You can run at the speed of sound, jump over skyscrapers, FUCKING FLY, why should I care about having a cool car anymore when its horribly inconvenient? Why have the power to call in homies and other saints? They don't have superpowers. I can punch people across the city, I have guns that can make black holes, why the fuck do I need some powerless NPCs with pea shooters backing me up? And then the simulation, you know I thought it was going to be a small part of the game, like a place you could go to at any time but wasn't the main focus of the game. Instead its the only part of the game and you know what? If the whole world's fake, I don't even care about it. And if the [sp]Earth really DOES blow up[/sp] I'm gonna give even less of a shit. Why would I care about some bullshit simulation if [sp]THE EARTH IS FUCKING BLOWN UP[/sp]? It just feels like the game doesn't know what the fuck it wants to be. It wants to be a superpower game but it has all of the features of a normal sandbox game which all end up being pointless when you have superpowers. Its trying to be two games at once and none of the features work well together. It looks silly, and you know what? that could've been enough for me. I've seen some scenes that have made me laugh. But the gameplay looks sooooo ass backwards that I don't think some witty writing will be enough to save it. The story looks fun, but nothing else about it does to me. Its just very disappointing. I wanted to like this game and if it had some of these problems fixed, I probably would. It just seems so boring.
Ok (User was banned for this post ("why reply?" - Gurant))
Just because a game is a sequel doesn't mean it's better. (And no I'm not saying SR4 is a bad game, I plan on purchasing it further down the line)
Everyone knows SR4 is vastly superior than 3. If anything, SR3 should have gotten the 7.5 score while 4, the 8.5. In this case, the sequel is better.
Also, why wasn't i told that there was a Gat-mobile? [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/JTTljV.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/Zjy6wG.jpg[/t]
Reading onto Idolninjas review, I dislike how he calls SR2's strongholds missions. In my opinion, Strongholds and Gang Operations serve the same purpose, though Strongholds tie a meaningless objective to justify killing X number of dudes. Same goes for the things in SR4. Technically, destroying those giant red domes should count as a stronghold. Same with all the alien operations. While he counts the strongholds, he doesn't count the open world sidequest stuff, which is essentially the same thing as strongholds? I'm just anal today.
Decided to play SR2 before doing SR4 since it apparently references a lot of shit. Then I realized how fucking terribly it performs on PC. Seriously, it's the worst PC port I think i've ever seen.
SR2 runs terribly on everything.

Seriously, it's the worst PC port I think i've ever seen.
Hopefully once modding support comes in full swing, the first thing we can do is upping the performance on it. That's what's holding me back from buying SR2, at least. I think there are mods now that up the performance a little.
[sp]According to IdolNinja's review, there are cheat codes to remove aliens and replace them with gang members, disable all those simulation visual effects, and disable superpowers. Essentially make it like the earlier games[/sp]
I am so glad there's a cheat to disable the simulation effects, those were my biggest SR4 turnoffs
Decided to play SR2 before doing SR4 since it apparently references a lot of shit. Then I realized how fucking terribly it performs on PC. Seriously, it's the worst PC port I think i've ever seen.
It runs well (Sorta) if you have the exact clock the devs had in mind for your CPU. I have no idea how you fuck up that badly when porting a game. Hell, Dark souls is another awful port but at least it runs feasibly well, and that was made by devs who though putting the menu button on the END key was a good idea.
I don't want to sound anti-SR4, but what in SR3 does not exist in SR4?
I don't want to sound anti-SR4, but what in SR3 does not exist in SR4?
Extensive set of superpowers, a well written story, tons of activities, etc. I think other people could figure out a better list than that, but those are off the top of my sleep addled mind.
I wonder why Volition hasn't considered porting SR1 to PC, that way we can have the quadrilogy on PC
Extensive set of superpowers, a well written story, tons of activities, etc. I think other people could figure out a better list than that, but those are off the top of my sleep addled mind.
he asked what's in sr3, not the other way around
I don't want to sound anti-SR4, but what in SR3 does not exist in SR4?
roll jumping, some clothing options, day/night, and some weapons
Did they remove the mouth-bandanna in SR4? That was one of my favorite things to wear :(
I wonder why Volition hasn't considered porting SR1 to PC, that way we can have the quadrilogy on PC
Wasn't SR1 actually quite bad as an actual game?
roll jumping, some clothing options, day/night, and some weapons
Roll jumping works in SR4 if you disable the superpowers. [editline]14th August 2013[/editline]
Did they remove the mouth-bandanna in SR4? That was one of my favorite things to wear :(
It wasn't in the initiation station.
It wasn't in the initiation station.
That's why I'm asking. :v:
roll jumping, some clothing options, day/night, and some weapons
sr3 didn't really have day&night. It just changed with the missions.
