God damn it SR IV improved in so many different ways, damn. The handling, the weapon feel, general optimization, the general style of the story, crap. I must say, I truly am impressed. I'm lovin' it. [editline]26th August 2013[/editline]
I usually dislike alien weapons in any game. I usually use the 45.
I think to myself I am a proud human and will use [del]TRUE AMERICAN[/del] HUMAN weapons and choppers to kill aliens and not their unpatriotic anti freedom pop canons
Is there some kind of trick to Tele Rift that I'm just missing, cause I literally can't throw the balls without getting bombarded by fifty of them every time I get up from the last one hitting me
I am so fucking sick and tired of getting blown up in Telekinesis Rift I've died twice in a row while having Gold because the fuckers wouldn't let up. How the hell am I supposed to be able to dodge and toss these colored balls when they're hitting me 5 at a time?

Is there some kind of trick to Tele Rift that I'm just missing, cause I literally can't throw the balls without getting bombarded by fifty of them every time I get up from the last one hitting me

Is it just me or are the alien weapons extremely underwhelming? The best rifle I used was the Burst Rifle, up until I got the Disintegrator and fully upgraded it.
Bounce rifle, when fully upgraded, can destroy tens of enemies in one single shot.
[sp]When is Shaundi gonna fuck Gat and get it over with?[/sp]

I'd love SR2 with SR4 engine stuff. Are there any mods being worked on yet?

Do any of the shops sell the Presidential Suit that you can recolour? Or will I have to use the Inauguration Station to get it?
Am I missing something about TK Rift being apparently difficult? The first try on each of them I got Gold.
Am I missing something about TK Rift being apparently difficult? The first try on each of them I got Gold.
It's all about soloing one of them down at a time, alot of people throw balls at every one of em they can see and get swamped.
Downloaded Inauguration Station from Steam so I didn't have to go install it on my PS3. Quickly recoloured the Presidential Suit then uploaded the character. Apparently it didn't upload, and won't upload even though it says Upload Successful.
help i think i broke the simulation [T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31882197/help.png[/T] there are literally no npcs or vehicles spawning nearby and the moment i get close to any distant peds or cars they fade out and disappear
I don't know, for the majority of the game I didn't use anything but ice blast the rest of the powers were useless novelties
Lightning Buff combined with a Fire Blast makes for good crowd control, provided you've bought the "Explosive Deaths" for Blast.
did you have the nuke upgrade for death from above
Yeah, but I haven't used it in forever. All I did was go to Planet Zin for a while, fuck about with my clothes and bam, suddenly this happens.
Am I missing something about TK Rift being apparently difficult? The first try on each of them I got Gold.
Well I thought it was hard the first time because I just threw the balls around and was like "what the fuck, this is impossible". Then the next time I picked it up, added electricity to the telekinesis and ran around in super speed and found at that it was really simple. Same thing with the first time I did the stomp rift challenge, you can't fucking use stomp to win that, you've just got to run around in super speed. Honestly I have no idea what they were thinking when they made half of the side missions, they are still fucking boring and a waste of time, and this time several of them doesn't even make any sense. Mayhem in a alien ship? Well, if you aren't close enough to the ground there won't even be enough targets to fire at and it wil lbe impossible to get gold, also, wait half a year between every missile and see things blow up down there in the distance... fun? Mayhem in a tank? Well, much like tank mayhem in SR3 but with lasers, but... well, you've still gotta drive around slowly and just shoot wildly around in a really slow pace and hope enough things blows up over time. Mayhem in a robo- power suit? Walk around really slow and hope you get to the places you haven't blasted to heavens in time in order to rack up enough points, not that it's hard, just slow. It's so weird to me that they don't push forward the idea of being over the top and crazy in the side missions as well. You had the alien drug mission where you had no cooldown on super powers basically allowing you to send an armageddon of meteors on the enemies, why didn't they play around with ideas like that for the side missions? Fill the city to the brim with things to kill and give you massive destruction potential? But no... Let's just make you run around the city and look for enough things to kill within the time limit with one single attack type that is not modified at all to make it more fun to use since we're restricting you to use it. Doesn't help that half the time spent in the game is spent doing these side missions... I mean, if you want all your upgrades and weapons.
I'm probably going to pick this up when the price drops, but a few questions: More or less customization than SR3? Are the super powers reused from the ones in SR3? How is the gameplay, is there even a reason to fly jets/cars when you have super powers? I feel like if your OP with super powers the whole game, the fun will wear off after a short while.
Customization is the same Some powers are reused like super running and blasting out of your hands but the majority of them are new Gameplay is fun, and yes vehicles have no purpose at all except for when you are powerless, which is almost never
All these people posting spoilers I mean, does anyone actually care about the story of any of these games?
pfft yeah man just cuz i dont care about story means no one else does!
Well, sort of more customization, the body and cloth system is the exact same, but you can change the skin of all your weapons and you can change the way they look (but not on alien weapons). No, the super powers are new and not re-used (I mean, yes you have the super running and blasting, but it acts differently), and you've got 4 of them that you can activate and 2 more passives you get at the end. The gameplay is fantastic and tight. In the start you'll hijack cars to stay alive, later on you would only drive a car or jet because you felt like it. The fun only really wears off when you have to run 2km to different directions all the time when you're doing missions, but it takes you way less time than driving to those points in SR3 since you can jump over most buildings and run super fast on the street, and later on, water. The super jump and super speed are satisfying as hell, you have such tight control with the super jump that you can hit what you're aiming for 85% of the time, 10% being right next to it and the remaining 5% being fuckups. The pin-point accuracy you're left with makes it really fun to use as you're jumping over buildings and then proceed to mow down a whole street, running through it. During fights I can't say I've been bored yet by blasting enemies with a fireblast power and see them explode into fireworks (not actual fireworks, just big chain-explosions), and if you like to make people tiny or levitate then you'll probably enjoy the stomp power as well. The best rifle I used was the Burst Rifle, up until I got the Disintegrator and fully upgraded it.
Only the alien rifle is underwhelming. The alien shotgun is good, the alien pistols are extremely good, they hit like a truck, the alien RPG has been my #1 weapon of choice at all times, even without upgrades and the alien rifle is the best of them in my experience.
Is it just me or are most of the special weapons in this kinda suck? None of them are even close to being as effective as the airstrike gun or the predator drone in SR3.
I'm sorry? Have you used the blackhole gun and the alien RPG?
Dubsep gun has only 3 songs to choose from, and a big disappointment for me - you can't use your own music. Well, wasn't hoping that much for this, it's just me - I hate dubstep, but the gun is really powerful.
At least the songs are great though. And you could always make a mod.
Sound mods aren't available from what I've seen. We'll have to wait until the SDKs are out. Hell, we barely know if we can create new skins for weapons.
The dubstep gun is OP whenever there's a ton of vehicles. It just blows up everything.
Mods for Dubstep guns will come when the modding sdk Is out. Volition has also given permission to port saints row 2 and 3 content to sr4 as long as it isn't missions. You are free to port stillwater to sr4 iirc.
I loved [sp]how Ben King's simulation mission included the dude who sold watches and the stripper from SR1's opening.[/sp]

[sp]Sad that they're referencing SR1 when the majority of people have not because they didn't own an XBOX back in the day. Hopefully they'll remake it.[/sp]

BioWare did that with Mass Effect Trilogy, when they ported ME1 to PS3. Shit, I'd buy that.
