I like how you say back in the day like 2006 was a long time ago. SR1 came out this gen, it isn't that old.
Sorry, for some reason I thought it came out on the original XBOX. Still, it was an 360 exclusive and thus references to it are not as well understood. [editline]26th August 2013[/editline]
Considering SR4 is the last game with The Protagonist in main role, Volition and Deep Silver could make some sort of Saints Row Quadrilogy collection and for that port SR1 to PC/PS3 and report SR2. BioWare did that with Mass Effect Trilogy, when they ported ME1 to PS3. Shit, I'd buy that.
As would I- unfortunately they said they had no plans for remaking SR1+2, but hopefully they could get together a smaller team that could.
Well got the dlc working but had to change Live regions
I was wondering what that was referencing. [sp]Sad that they're referencing SR1 when the majority of people have not because they didn't own an XBOX back in the day. Hopefully they'll remake it.[/sp]
SR1 was originally going to ported to PC in 2007 but it got canned.
SR1 was originally going to ported to PC in 2007 but it got canned.
Yeah, thought as much. SR2 wasn't even ported by Volition, so technically they have never done a port before. Still, it's probably in the cards.
Well I thought it was hard the first time because I just threw the balls around and was like "what the fuck, this is impossible".
Based on that I'm assuming you just ignored how is was said to play it then. You didn't play Saints Row 1?
Seriously? You didn't play Saints Row 1?
How is that a surprise? Not many people did.
Seriously? You didn't play Saints Row 1?
I've never owned an Xbox, so no. Neither played Saints Row 2, because apparently the port is crap and I do not have that much spending money. (before anyone says anything, I preordered SRIV a while back when I did have said spending money) Good ports of both games would make a lot of money, I think.
I never played Saints Row 1 because it just looked like a GTA knockoff. Which it was, because GTAIV hadn't come out yet on current gen consoles, so they had more of a chance at that sort of thing.
Yeah it's a shame SR2 runs so bad. Is there anything I could do to get a better framerate
How is that a surprise? Not many people did.
I've played everything but 1 From what I've heard its just a really mediocre crime game; 2 is where the magic is born Lets get some fucking unce unce in there I could loop this for a long time
Hell, we barely know if we can create new skins for weapons.
You can but it's a VERY long an tedious process, SR's engine is very strange in its mesh and texture handling. Its not what I'd call a traditional method that it uses where the polygon and vertex data is stored together, instead EVERYTHING is separate, mesh is split into 3 sometimes 4 files, polygonal mesh, vertex data, weight data (depends if the model has jigglebones per say) and then UV data. Textures are then split into 2 sometimes 3 files, you've got the diffuse, normal then the alpha. Each all separate, no fancy alpha channels here. It's living hell making stuff for it and even worse porting it back.

After doing the mission "The Girl who Hates the 50s", I now know why [sp]Super Kieth David looks like Lando Calrissian.[/sp]
After doing the mission "The Girl who Hates the 50s", I now know why [sp]Super Kieth David looks like Lando Calrissian.[/sp]
Yeah this game is full of 80's movies references, it's crazy.

you dont even have to go as fast as the guy in the video does, managing 2 balls is enough then when you get near the end and close to gold you can do it with just 1 ball
Yeah this game is full of 80's movies references, it's crazy.
Also lots of questionable movie copyright content, DL-44 blaster, star trek phaser, Auto 9 and LAPD 2019 blaster to name a few.
I loved [sp]how Ben King's simulation mission included the dude who sold watches and the stripper from SR1's opening.[/sp]
I kinda hoped that the Rollers and Los Carnales where going to show up like in the original intro, I also wished that they referenced the Saints original color which was green.
Also lots of questionable movie copyright content, DL-44 blaster, star trek phaser, Auto 9 and LAPD 2019 blaster to name a few.
Laser sword.
Also lots of questionable movie copyright content, DL-44 blaster, star trek phaser, Auto 9 and LAPD 2019 blaster to name a few.
I'm pretty sure you can use gun's appearance's as long as you don't have the same name
I've played everything but 1 From what I've heard its just a really mediocre crime game; 2 is where the magic is born
Actually Saints 1 is really solid. It's got flaws, of course, but it's pretty damn good.
Mods for Dubstep guns will come when the modding sdk Is out. Volition has also given permission to port saints row 2 and 3 content to sr4 as long as it isn't missions. You are free to port stillwater to sr4 iirc.
I wonder if missions would be allowed if they somehow ran off the install you had of SR2/3, kinda like how Morroblivion needs to have Morrowind installed to work. It'd be pretty great if that would work out.
Is there anyway to get the Gunslinger? Haven't seen any around apart from during the intro.
Yes. Without giving much away, just progress through the story and you will be able too save it.
Yes. Without giving much away, just progress through the story and you will be able too save it.
Found one driving around after a few missions.
Dubsep gun has only 3 songs to choose from, and a big disappointment for me - you can't use your own music. Well, wasn't hoping that much for this, it's just me - I hate dubstep, but the gun is really powerful.
I tricked my friend into thinking that the default skin played one of his favorite dubstep song over stream when the game first came out. He was watching me play over stream and when I unlocked the dubstep gun, I switched and tried out the alternate skins and then once I switched over to the default I alt-tabbed and opened up spotify. The stream only picks up the game so he didn't see me alt-tab so as soon as I started shooting the gun with the default skin, I would play the song that was in spotify. He fell for it :v:
Help me I can't gold the Speed Rifts and the Stomp Mayhem. Both get to silver, and about 80% to gold when the timer runs out, how do I do them. And is there 33 activities only? That's what the max for me is on the map currently.
I think there's actually 34. I had 33/33 activities done, yet there was a Rift on the monument island that I didn't complete yet.
Actually Saints 1 is really solid. It's got flaws, of course, but it's pretty damn good.
Only gives more reason for them to port it. You know what would be nice? A SR1+2 port where you can play the games as a single game on the SR3+4 engine. That would allow better and more consistant graphics, along with porting your character throughout all the games. Alas, it's a pipedream.
Is it just me or are most of the special weapons in this kinda suck? None of them are even close to being as effective as the airstrike gun or the predator drone in SR3.
The only special weapon I used in SR3 was actually the RC Posessor, because it could destroy tanks in one hit with no fuss. I always found the special weapons impractical to use because you were usually waiting too long for the attack to arrive, or you were totally vulnerable while you were summoning the attack. In SR4 I find the special weapons more useful. The abduction gun in particular is wonderful for crowd control and quickly traversing the entire map. I'm even using the explosive weapons a lot more. The Tiny Pistol is wonderful for clearing out tightly packed groups of enemies and is fun to use. With this trick I went from not being able to get gold to soaring past gold.
