The quest menu keeps telling me that Pierce is unavailable, but he's right here.
Is there a fix?
SRIV mods are looking up- today a Zin to Stag model and vehicle replacement was released and works rather well- sure cops morph into Stag, but what can you do?
There's one I'm more interested in is this mod where the past gangs from SR1-3 will spawn on certain islands, in their vehicles. This means 1950's people will also spawn, and SR:TT cops and cars will spawn instead. It's looking to be great, but again it's till a WIP.
I'd love to have all those special outfits split up into single pieces. Are there any chances this stuff will be modded, too? I have no clue about the stuff achievable when it comes to SR modding
Black Ops 2 has a female president, Splinter Cell Blacklist has a female president, I'm pretty sure there are some other games that have it too.
That's one of the problems with SRIV- outfits having more articles than they allow separate.
It's being fixed by mods, luckily. Or at least, will be at some point.

If you need them separate to recolor, IdolNinja made a mod that lets you change clothing colors from any wardrobe location.
Ooh, neat. Thanks.

I got them in Nobody Loves Me, as far as I can remember.
So I finished the game. That was pretty cool and stuff but there are several things that quite disappointed me :
[sp]-The presidency thing is never used apart for mission 2 and 3. Other than that, there is nothing in the game impacted by the fact that you're the president. You play in a simulated city where you have no power and Earth gets blown up. So being the president at this point means nothing anymore. Sucks with all these trailers/artworks/covers show you in Washington, White House and stuff.[/sp]
[sp]-The gang spirit has been totaly wiped out. In the previous Saints Row games, lots of cutscenes features your 'normal' gang members, making you really feel like a gang leader being close to them. In SR4, it's only about homies, Pierce, Gat etc... you can still customize your gang and call them for help but it became pointless since you have super homies. I like Saints Row characters but they're the only characters you see in this game with Zinyak. It gets boring after a while.[/sp]
[sp]-The boss personality sucks in this game. Sorry to say that. I never felt like playing as a boss. You never take decisions by yourself. All missions objectives are given by your homies, mostly Kinzie (which made me seriously hate her). SR3 has the same effect but not that much.[/sp]
[sp]-Oleg and Birk's death. It really infuriated me. They just killed him like they killed Gat in SR3 : offscreen and no emotion at all.[/sp]
[sp]-Pointless cut content. I don't get why they removed some basic activities, clothes and vehicles from the game. I don't think the would've caused problems, right ?[/sp]
[sp]-Still lacking some cool things like mission replay or better accessibility to some features. Idolninja's mission replay mod clearly proves it's possible to allow players to redo missions. They could've worked on that. I fucking loved the beat-em-all mission but it's quite annoying that you'll have to redo an entire game if you want to do it again. Sandbox+ also shows how you can easily change lighting/daytime in Steelport without causing problems/glitches so why do you have to go back to the ship every time you want to change daytime.[/sp]
Other than that I really enjoyed it. But I really hope the next Saints Row (I guess there will be one when you see how much Deep Silver bought the license) will be more focused on the previous games : more gang content and no aliens. I appreciate how the devs took the risk to turn the series that way but I think they reched the limit with SR4. Making next game even more whacky may completely fuck up.
This is a response to the block of spoilers above.
[sp]President was kinda useless, but it was more of a plot starter than something meaningful- the saints wouldn't be in the simulation if they weren't as important. Agreed they could have done more with that, though.[/sp]
[sp]Really, the gang spirit was wiped out when this game got super powers. The game is not a gangster simulator anymore, and the lack of homie usefulness is like that.[/sp]
[sp]Agreed, that was rather bullshit. Still, they (apparently) needed to cut out the Brute content, so rigging Oleg would have just wasted a lot of space. Still, it could have been done better. With the time travel element at the end, they'll probably do the same thing with them as they did Gat- have them come out and pick them up (there's a lot of lag between space and cell phones, they could easily have a large amount of time between the earth blowing up and the like.[/sp]
[sp]I blame consoles on that- they obviously needed to cut corners at some point, and those were easy to clear up space.[/sp]
[sp]Mission replay is a bitch to recreate, though. Idolninja's mission replay was done by a team of people, and by the end of it they knew exactly why it wasn't in SR3- it's extremely time consuming and not worth delaying the game over it. The only reason why it isn't in game is because they spent said time on other things. They probably did the daytime thing like that because they were too lazy to program it into the gateways.[/sp]
The next Saints Row won't be as wacky, apparently- after two games they start from scratch, so it would only make sense if the next game didn't have much connection with this one.
I'm sad that they already decided to end The Boss' storyline. Like, the next game will be something entirely new. Not a bad thing actually, I mean, what else could you do after being president. Yet I really began to love the crew and him/her as a character.
well i got 7 missions left in the campaign, pretty much done EVERYTHING else alredy activities, rampage etc
I had soo much fun in ths game ( 17 hours pledged so far ), im going to be pretty sad when i finish it, pretty much like riding a incredible rollercoaster full of emotions and fun..but when the ride ends you feel kinda sad but also happy at the same time becouse of the great journey
ohh man...
So, I haven't played the game yet, nor do I plan to.
But can someone clear some shit up for me?
[sp]I keep hearing shit about the game being in a simulation? Is all this Alien/Time Travel/Oleg's Death/Earth blowing up in this simulation? Or does this shit happen out of that, and it's actually all canon now or something?[/sp]

[sp]everything you mentioned is outside of the simulation, the time travel is a "secret" ending for doing all of the loyalty missions[/sp]
I am now bored of this game.
I'm not willing to 100% the entire game (ie collect all the fucking clusters and get gold on all the challenges I'm bad at)
[editline]4[/editline]
but then again thats like the only game I'm willing to play right now

okay im going to break down a few things
[sp] Gat got abducted before the saints became presidential, im sure the Zin knew about the saints and would've abducted them anyways so the presidential thing was pretty gimmicky[/sp]
[sp]The gang spirit was one of my favorite things about 1-3, it could've been fixed by giving all the gangmebers superpowers late in game and by making you feel like they are all trying to help[/sp]
[sp]The time travel thing was also really gimmicky, but i can get over it. Also where the fuck is Zimos[/sp]
[sp]There is a major lack of things to do after the game is beaten though. Sure you can finish activities but i did most of the side missions before progressing. Imo the side missions shouldn't have been activities at all.[/sp]

At first I didn't recognise Pierce in the first mission of SRIV because he didn't have a hat.
I can't believe how many cut characters there were
There was even Mr. Sunshine:

My brain shut down for a second there and for some reason I thought it was Woolie.
Remember, cut characters do not mean cut from the game entirely- there are at least five characters that are not in game but are labeled as DLC. Sure, woulda been nice to see them in the full game, but I honestly don't mind.
