Just a quick-note, if your having troubles on The Real World, type in the cheat "fastforward", this managed to get my through the mission in the first go.

Gat being back - so much feels.

It's really badly optimized for a lot of people. I can max games like BF3 but I have to run this all on lowest possible settings just to get it to stick near 30FPS
I've heard people say so many different things about the optimization of this game that I really just don't know what to think anymore.
I didn't notice anything, and Steam doesn't say anything was downloaded.
Blegh this is bullshit, it better get fixed soon.
I'm so close to the end and now I can't play the fucking game...
I really wish Volition had more time to fix this game up before release. And possibly to polish it a bit more.
On the xbox edition the game crashes when I try to go in the community character section in which I want to download a character I got from the website like WALUIGI "Yes it's real its actually called WALUIGI TIME." And when the bar shows up entering it the whole game freezes a long with the xbox and gotta turn the power off.

Honestly, I think this game really could've used another couple of months of polishing.

It did that for me when I first got it, it worked fine after I deleted the SR3 characters from my queue.

Smooth like butter here, hell I get around 60-80 FPS on max here while in SR3 I got 30-40.

yeah, some of the animations are a bit iffy
Did anyone else get sound bugs on some weapons where the firing sound wouldn't play? Mostly happened to me with the semi-automatic shotgun.

It's immersive
I am in a rare state of being in that i can perfectly well afford SR4 but don't want to buy it.
Well i do, but i have already bought animal crossing, fire emblem, persona 4 arena and valkirya chronicles this month and don't want to throw another on the pile.
Maybe next month.

You say that like the game-breaking bug wasn't patched in after release
I have the money but I don't know if I really want to spend it on SRIV. Is it actually any decent for $50, and how long does the main missions overall go for

Play in co-op. It will make your purchase worth it.
[sp]Haven't played myself in co-op though, I recall from my SR3 experience and what shit is going on in SR4[/sp]

The main mission takes according to others about 10-12 hours. The optional missions which is just different characters giving you a list of the activities to do so you get around to doing them (and gives you stuff like new weapons) takes 7-9 hours.
I finished the game 98% (just challenges left, all activities done) in 20 hours.

Co-op is fun for a couple of hours just like in SR3, but I don't feel this game has any long-lasting end-game playability, at all. But the experience and ride the missions give you, and the few hours of co-op play you'll enjoy is more than worth the money.
I have a fuckton of complaints about this game, lots of things nagged and rubbed me the wrong way about it, but I still had tons of fun and enjoyed it a lot.
Also when I watched a video I made of some co-op footage with a friend from SR3 I noticed how vastly different you play SR4 to SR3, it seriously is like two different games.

I don't see how that's relevant to what I said. If they had more time, they could have avoided this situation altogether.
Holy hell the Super Powered Fight Clubs are difficult. Has anyone gotten gold on medium or hard yet?
I feel like coop isn't as fun this time around when you're playing two characters who aren't concurrent with each other; If you have one guy who is a few missions or levels ahead of you his power level will leave you in the dust, and it's not as much fun because he will carry the entire game. At least in SRTT I could kind of keep up.
Maybe it's better with two characters playing concurrently but I haven't tried it.

Jyunichi is giving me a lot of trouble. I can beat the first two waves in like a minute flat but then the penultimate wave takes a minute and the final one takes two.

I had the same problem when playing SR3. I could barely get any kills because the guy I was playing with was just destroying everything. Also he had more DLC than me.

I never played public and only played with two friends and we started with fresh characters so it was an equal game.
I mean, not 3 player co-op but played two times.

It doesn't help that you can optionally join your co-op partners quest. Rather than being forced into it. My friend ended up not completing about 7-8 side quests due to not having them selected when I was doing them.
A good way to win at super powered fight club is to turn on ice buff and just punch people.
Are people really finding the Fight Clubs Hard? The most tries for gold it took me was two, and when I didn't get that I was only a few seconds off. It might have helped that I tried to get every upgrade as soon as it became available, but even then just the Freeze Blast makes them really easy.
the worst part is when the catgirls show up with their telekinesis bullshit but i just realised to throw them away before they throw shit at me
I'm surprised at how well the AI uses superpowers. I thought they'd be really bad at it.
