By that logic every gun is the same because they all "make people do stuff" (that stuff being dying) when you shoot them. The octopus launcher attaches to the person you shoot at which causes them to start attack everyone else except you and then if you want, you can blow them up. The dubstep gun makes everyone in the vicinity of the hit start dance, it's completely different.
It's like the same gun with huge splash damage and I don't give a fuck about the guns, I want more.
I think you need to sit down, take a deep breath and listen to yourself.
That is in no way similar to the dubstep gun at all.
I get it that you obviously didn't like SR3 and all and that you dislike that SR4 is going to expand upon SR3 in the same manner that SR2 expanded upon SR1, just that you liked the direction they took with SR2.
But you seriously can't go out of your way to say false things about a game just to confirm and build on your own hatred of the game. You're practically making up lies in order to make yourself dislike it more.
The octopus gun makes people dance and the dubstep does so as well, that is what makes me annoyed

I just fucking explained how it's not the same gun, how thick are you? And the octopus gun doesn't make people dance, it makes it attack other people, the only dancing involved is the one short animation it plays when it's attached.
Wow, now that you tell me that, I haveee to play SR4

Same code and stuff
This is an awful discussion; I'd prefer if you switch the subject because this isn't going anywhere but in circles.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. So, what does everyone think about taking on a single race of aliens rather than multiple gangs?

The mollusk attaches itself to peoples head, the people freak out for a very very very short time before they run around and attack people like zombies.
The dubstepgun emits lightrays that act like a visual equalizer synced to the song and makes people in a large area of affect break out in dance and if hit by enough beats from the dubstepgun's lightrays, they will be killed.
They are NOTHING alike.
AT ALL

Please refer to my previous post
So, what does everyone think about taking on a single race of aliens rather than multiple gangs?
I think it's an interesting way to spice things up with the Saints Row formula, as it'll provide more opportunities for enemies on the alien's side, rather than the usual standard street gangsters + specialists
I think there's a lot of potential for variety in enemies, if they're focusing on solely one opposition.

It'd be sweet to see if someone could recreate SR1's default protagonist in SR2 and SR3 with precision.
I don't know why

well after ~10 years he'd look pretty different
well after ~10 years he'd look pretty different
Especially after he got blown up on a boat.
Thanks for the constructive criticism. So, what does everyone think about taking on a single race of aliens rather than multiple gangs?
The Syndicate was really just one gang anyway.
Might be that the aliens have different cliques, sort of like the Syndicate did.
The issue is that SRTT had all of its best story moments spoiled by the trailers, and they are making a conscious effort not to do that for SR4. I think they are probably going too extreme with the secrecy and need to find a happy middle ground instead of just releasing half-assed gameplay ones that dont' show anything new.
Also, if I hadn't already played it, I would also think the game was complete shit from those trailers; especially that last hail to the chief one.
thank you idol ninja
you're still making me interested in this game. when you're able to, can you tell us if they've changed how the clothing works
[editline]25th May 2013[/editline]
man, there's one thing i'm going to be really bummed about.
from what we've heard, the only real enemies you're going to be fighting are the aliens, and the cops. i really wish they'd have the typical 3 gangs vs the saints thing, and i wish they'd all be kind of unique sort of like they were in SR2

I can't talk about that stuff yet until E3, other than the fact that Steve Jaros publicly confirmed that layers aren't coming back.
Regarding only fighting aliens/cops, that was one of the reasons why my expectations were so low going in.
I hope they keep the russian female voice, I feel like a fairly large proportion of my enjoyment was my chars dialogue

Tara Platt who did the female Russian voice confirmed on twitter that she is not returning.
will STEVIE BLOOME still be doing the stupid zombie voice?
Tara Platt who did the female Russian voice confirmed on twitter that she is not returning.
Awww, she was my second favorite voice right after the classic british male voice.
the only female voice i liked was the typical white girl one. didn't really care for the others.
as for males, i only really liked the typical white guy one, even though that "to my loins.. OH!" line got really fucking irritating. i still miss the hispanic, black, and 'straylian voices from SR2, though.

The African American male voice in SRTT was Kenn Michaels; the same guy from SR2.
EDIT
And also the same guy who did the few snippets of player dialogue in SR1 as well.
What about the british male voice
Tara Platt who did the female Russian voice confirmed on twitter that she is not returning.
Oh... well that sucks.
Sounds like a minor thing in hindsight, but that's kinda a big strike against 4 for me. I'll probably still play it, but not being able to carry on as my boss from 3 w/voice intact is lame.
What about the british male voice
Unknown who or what the replacement is.
Unknown who or what the replacement is.
Oh, okay.
What if Donnie was Professor Genki? What if he snapped, and became obsessed with becoming a one man army, like the Protagonist? What if he designed the Genkimobile himself?

he's a scientist that combined himself with a cat

I liked how the different voices had different personalities/dialogue in SRTT. I hope they do it in SR4 as well.

Damn. While Robin Atkin Downes is awesome I miss Charles Shaughnessy.
It was hilarious to play SR2 as Mr. Sheffield :v:

Well, it's been almost like a series trademark since SR2, I doubt they would change that.

Was dialogue different in SR2? I only ever picked the cockney. :v:
