[sp]Her romance cutscene was oddly warm[/sp]
My co-op partner sprinted by in the background as she led me away. That might have been alright if he didn't look like a mix of Nathan Fillion and Rocky.
I think it might just be me, but I think I prefer the opening of SR3 over 4. Mostly because of the music. And you're in Stilwater. I've got extended loops of each of the segments of that mission and I just fucking love listening to it. Whoever composed it, I would kiss them on the mouth. Man, I miss Stilwater. Although [sp]riding a missile to "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing"[/sp] was probably one of the best things I'd ever seen in a video game introduction.

[sp]Missile's still the best part of both opening's though.[/sp]
Two new DLC's for Saints Row IV, the Commander-In-Chief Pack and the Volition Comics Pack, are Now Available on Steam! Customization packs are a good idea on paper, it's just that they're like 3 times more expensive than they should be and contain customization items that no one in their right mind would want. Just fucking make a £10 DLC featuring hundreds of outfits with varying levels of wackiness and I'd buy the fuck out of that

Hopefully.
Is there a way to disable the SR2 HUD on Console? PS3, specifically.
The game is more than just the SR3 island with aliums right? [sp]R-right?[/sp]
The game is more than just the SR3 island with aliums right? [sp]R-right?[/sp]
the skyline is different i think
the skyline is different i think
God dammit
God dammit
It's way better than SR3. The gameplay is much more fun, there's more variety of enemies believe it or not, and the writing is leagues better than SR3, definitely on par with 2. If you're still on the fence about it, I'd recommend getting it. The whole "SR3.5" thing is just wrong, plain and simple.
No offense, but it's not on par with SR2.
If we keep setting SR2 as the absolute highest bar, then of course no game is going to surpass it. I don't think it's fair and that we should judge the games based on their own merits.
God dammit
The environment is mostly the same as SR3, but that doesn't mean SR4 is the same game. Using the super powers to navigate and fight in the city is a pretty different from the driving and gunning of SR3.
I don't like 2 that much, honestly, feels too awkward, and I just can't look at Shaundi without laughing. It's just not over the top enough for me, still feels like a GTA Clone.

For some reason when I try to ring Helicopter/vtol delivery in SR3, it says they are busy, I assume it is because of Sandbox+ since I use that and then it happens. Oh and I don't really consider Saints Row 4 canon, I know I will get a lot of dumbs for saying it but I just never really liked Saints Row 4 and the idea of the whole thing is just stupid.

It's a wonderful game, but they should've spent more time on it. The story is well written but it didn't feel as long and epic as I expected.
Uhh yeah, but he said the writing was on par with SR2. Never at any point did I say that SR4 wasn't good.
SR2's writing strength was almost 100% character writing. Without memorable faces like Gat, Maero, Mr. Sunshine, Dane Vogel, etc., what would the game have been? Saints kill gangs, cops, corporations, and control city. IMO the characters made that story not only work but stand out. As generic as it sounds on paper, SR2 remains one of my favorite games of all time because of how crazy memorable it is. SR4's writing is more well-rounded. The characters aren't quite as strong, but the story itself feels like more thought was put into it. Again it seems pretty generic and cliched on paper, but it works out because of the characters. Honestly it feels like it's trying to be something all its own rather than be like GTA/a serious crime drama, and in that regard I think it did pretty damn well. It has moments that felt like self-aware parodies, but it also had times where it felt very serious and not in a bad way. I haven't seen many things pull that off well, but SR4 definitely did.
SR2 doesn't feel like any effort of realism was written in to the characters, it just seems like Tony Hawk's Underground writing at the most.
SR2 doesn't feel like any effort of realism was written in to the characters, it just seems like Tony Hawk's Underground writing at the most.
That's part of what makes it so good. Would you rather be friends with a bunch of typical 'gangstas,' or have a second-in-command who's killed more than 300 people and can brush off fatal injuries like nothing? Would you rather hate those same gangstas, or a roided-out psychopath covered in tattoos and wielding a minigun? Saints Row has no use for realism IMO.
