Its not supposed to be out until Tuesday.
Still should be able to pre-order it from most major retailers but I can't find it anywhere.
At time of posting, based on checking Steam on and off all day, it appears National Treasure Edition for PC is delayed. I thought something was up as GOTY releases usually show up on the coming soon ticker on Steam and this never came up. What I find kind of odd is how there apparently is zero information confirming or denying a delay, just mostly the same "due on July 8th" information that has been circulating for the last few weeks.
What about now, is it appearing for anybody yet? I'm in the UK trying to get it on xbox and it's baffling how little information there is on it. On Amazon I could buy the US version (probably region-locked and unplayable on a PAL system) or the German version (most likely in German).
Everyone has probably already seen the announcement but here it is anyway :v:
Volition's biggest bad ass from the Third Street Saints is back, hotter than ever (literally!) Johnny Gat is larger than life in Volition's Saints Row®: Gat Out of Hell standalone expansion, announced today at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). In Gat Out of Hell players take on the role of Johnny Gat as he is sent into hell via a nefarious spirit board incident and left to combat demons, the horrors of the underworld (including prominent historical figures) and, of course, the Devil himself. The standalone will come to all of Saints Row 4's current platforms, as well as Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It's set to release on January 27 for $19.95. Saints Row IV: Re-Elected will be released alongside the expansion for the next-gen consoles. This version of the game will include the base game, all of the DLC, and the Gat out of Hell expansion. This will be priced at $49.99. Eh. I was hoping that they would go for some parallel dimension thing where the events of 4 hadn't happened/happened differently and the earth didn't blow up and you end up starting a gang with your hot-headed and kinda violent friend in an attempt to make your city safer under your gang than the other three/four and lose track of you original goal along the way, using a few "choice" options to alter how the ending turns out. You either get blown the fuck up the hero or die on a boat as the villain.
Looks fun, here's hoping they'll rework the lighting and shit too, it's ugly in Saints Row 3 and 4. Also, I hope the framerate isn't terrible, especially on PS4.
[T]https://s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/shacknews/assets/editorial/2014/08/gat_fly_1.jpg[/T] Yep, this definitely isn't Steelport. Thank fuck. EDIT: For those wondering, Steelport has a different skyline. [T]http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/206420/ss_18194998b5e43655e21c67e60abe5a1446551429.1920x1080.jpg?t=1405457776[/T]
I miss the Russian female voice, but I got used to having the french one instead I guess.
No, the French one does not make a good substitution, Laura Bailey only just made a good one for me, the French one was just shit.
Random thought: Will the expansion be able to take in one's Boss model from Saintsrow.com or something if you can play it without owning SR4? Seems it might be trivial if the game is centered around playing around as Gat, but still.
Wait are we gonna see a bunch of dead Saints Row characters in this one? I mean there is Vogal in it, maybe we'll get to see Carlos?

They put a huge emphasis on customizing the Boss and it'd be really weird to suddenly get rid of all that even though he/she isn't the main focus anymore.
Wait are we gonna see a bunch of dead Saints Row characters in this one? I mean there is Vogal in it, maybe we'll get to see Carlos?
Well, they are sitting on those models for Lin and the guy who led the Rollerzs.
For the love of God if they don't put an actually good metal station for the first time in the history of Saints row in Gat out of Hell, I'm going to fucking pop my scrotum... come on.... just once please.
Wait are we gonna see a bunch of dead Saints Row characters in this one? I mean there is Vogal in it, maybe we'll get to see Carlos?
Carlos probably didn't go to hell.
I hope they finally allow a UserTrack FM like thing. I know they wanted to for SR4, but it might have fallen on the wayside.
PAX Panel [editline]30th August 2014[/editline] So Custom Radio stations are coming soon for modders, as easy as dragging and dropping into a program and it will make it.
Eh, GTA's method was easier. Just plop your songs/foldershortcuts in a folder and boom.
Any first timer to SR4 would like to be my co-op partner? I played through SR3 with a friend and we had a blast so I bought myself and him SR4 but he got real busy because he's at school to become a fireman. I still haven't touched the game all that much and I'm looking to play it with someone else if possible.

This has to be my favourite SR2 LP, of all time. Its Co-Op with the Gentlemen of the Row mod. Hilarity ensues. http://lparchive.org/Saints-Row-2/
Saints Row's insanity was more gratifying when the game's tone had range
I feel like this is just a late night wank off for Saints Row. Like the devs aren't ready to do a spin off or reign in the wackyness to more sensible dark humor, so they're going to get this out of their system while they still have the whole 'leader-of-the-universe' thing going. Also, if anyone cares, I reviewed trains in Steelport for trainsingames.com. If people get their nark on for things that aren't really important is your thing, check it out.
Steelport lost it's charm before the end of SR3, but they reused it anyway.
Steelport lost it's charm before the end of SR3, but they reused it anyway.
Not to ruin my INTENSE, RIVETING, and INFORMATIVE article on trainsingames, but I basically said that steelport was a downgrade from Saints Row 2's Stillwater by not having as many dynamic elements like npcs operating boats and plane, and for lacking enterable interiors. From the looks of background images here, it looks as if they've reused Steelport again, or atleast a hell-themed version. If you look closely, you can see floating lava-magma-igneous formations in the background, which remind me of those parkour-climby-tower things in Saints Row IV. Regardless of the sensible, if lack luster, decision to keep reusing the same old Sandbox, I'm looking forward to this. [sp]So long as they price it sensibly[/sp]

To be perfectly honest, I don't really mind the concept of the Saints going to hell. At the very least, it's a shitton more approprate to the Saints persona than fuckin aliens and sci-fi, what with their name, their iconography, and the being born in a church. My problem is that SR4 had me numb to the insanity. Supposedly, Saints Row's humor is born from it's madness being played straight. But the thing is, as the player, I'm forced to accept and wield the insanity just as much as the story, which dilutes the impact of its presence. I believe SR2 was such a fan favorite because it's depiction of Stilwater carried the feeling of a world that mostly wanted to put away and be above the Saints' chaos, which amplified the satisfaction in finally being strong enough to change that. The city of Steelport's cringe inducing incompetence and lack of detail, it's robotic clone-like citizens, and it's gunplay that still often feels like throwing around ragdolls, fail to pick up the slack for me.
The thing I don't like is how the boss hasn't been as badass as they have been since Saints Row 2, I mean Johnny Gat is pretty badass, there's no denying, but when playing as the boss, I really don't like being put in second place when it comes to how much of a badass I am.
