but as the "dev leak" thread from /v/ says, hopefully old Shaundi will be back.
I hope so. But doesn't mean I'm gonna pre order.
I don't have high hopes for that one. It'll probably be fun to play through, but I'll wait on some occasion instead of buying it.
So not only did the boss become the President, with no real explanation as to why, but also the shitty over the top boob and angry Shaundi is back. [sp]Fuck this game unless they actually fix Shaundi.[/sp]
SRTT was made as a reboot to begin with, it seems - an intentional distance from the first two games to gain its own identity, which probably explains why you have all the major differences, engine work aside, and only a handful of references to the previous games and little else to show for it. And probably why Shaundi got swapped in personality completely. Or at least according to a developer interview off of Wikipedia, so it could be incorrect.
It's perfectly fine if you get the Gentlemen of the Row mod, which is really fucking amazing. Speaking of which, going to play through SR2 again :v
The speed still fluctuates wildly for me with the mod installed, makes driving infuriating. I'd like to actually try SR2, but I can't stand it long enough to even start the second mission.
My comparison between SR2 and SR3 would be along the lines of: SR2 being a mob set in a cartoon-ish world SR3 being a cartoon set in a mob world If that makes any sense :X
I remember a Team Fortress 2 blog (that I can't find for the life of me) where they described two types of humor: - Normal person in a crazy situation - Crazy person in a normal situation

Saints Row 2 is exponentially more fun once you get a helicopter. You rarely have to deal with the shitty driving controls once you have one.
I know they did and it also worried me back then. Since this is a different developer I worry some.
Its the same Developer, Volition is still working on it. Its a different Publisher.
I didn't like Kinzie. I wish instead of having her on the wallpaper art they'd have Oleg or Viola.
As long as the female Russian voice is left in I'm happy.
I hope Robin Atkin Downes will be one of the voice choices again.
I hope Robin Atkin Downes will be one of the voice choices again.
I wish they could get him doing his German accent, but that'd be far too obvious.
Here's what I'm hoping for in SR4: 1. More missons (ACTUAL missons, not the ones that introduce you to side-games) 2. More customization (like others have said, 3's customization wasn't as good as 2s) 3. Backwards compatibility with SR3 (This would include actual characters AND DLC) If the game has all these things, then I'll be content. I don't see that in the teaser, but that's what teasers do; tease. A lot of people are pissing and moaning because it APPEARS that this game will be a carbon copy of SR3, something that we can't see until more information is released. Just calm yourselves until you see more than a 30 second Youtube video.
If it has Charles Shaughnessy doing a cockney accent again, the game would be an instant buy for me.
Wait, so I'm President now? Ok then... [editline]17th March 2013[/editline] Also, I hope they have a German accent so the wacky misadventures of Space Hitler can continue.
I didn't like Kinzie. I wish instead of having her on the wallpaper art they'd have Oleg or Viola.
I'm not really sure why but i do. Maybe it has something to do with the fact she owns a penetrator non-ironically.
assuming the player character is the white guy with the sunglasses, who exactly is the goth looking guy?
assuming the player character is the white guy with the sunglasses, who exactly is the goth looking guy?
Most likely Matt Miller.
SR2 have the best story for me, but the port for the PC makes me kinda... urgh
I hope Johnny isn't actually dead, it pissed me off that they killed him, off-screen nonetheless.
I felt SR3 had really weak gangs if you can call them that since they're just wrestlers/mafia/hackers Compared to SR2 gangs they were shit. I mean they've should have expanded more on the villains in my opinion. [sp]Killing off the main antagonist and replacing it with the wannabe wrestler was a mistake.[/sp]
Murderbrawl was pretty fucking awesome. Killbane being a wrestler opened a great possibility for that. They should've expanded more on the Syndicate though. I mean you have a fucking French mafia against you.
Other than the engine, you can tell it still uses the same assets (textures, models, etc.) There was a rumor a while back that Shaundi quit the saints after what happen to Gat, I guess not?
I hope Johnny isn't actually dead, it pissed me off that they killed him, off-screen nonetheless.
The main reason why they offed Gat was because the VA didn't want to do Saints Row games anymore; he was nice enough to record the opening, but didn't want the full game.
The main reason why they offed Gat was because the VA didn't want to do Saints Row games anymore; he was nice enough to record the opening, but didn't want the full game.
Still, they could have given him a badass and dramatic death instead of that off-screen bullshit.
I thought the VA liked doing Saints Row?
Well this game seems to be doing good but SR3 didn't appeal to me that much since they didn' do enouh explaing on most of the people. But SR4 is taking a new approach and it's great to see they didn't run out of ideas and are still trying to make the game fun, but they should make a bit more serious with the story line, then make it fun to play when the game is beat, since me and my friend had fun playing the game together but got a little bored when we started to mess around in SR2 and SR3.

Johnny Gat was alive in all drafts of the game's script, apart from the final one. He was due to return either as an ally when the Saints got in trouble (not sure at which point in the story exactly), or during the end credits, as the new head of the Syndicate. Hence why the whole game feels like he's not really dead, having died off-screen.
Belgian.
Go make yourself a fucking waffle
