I hope the soundtrack is great again. Playing "Power" while crashing the penthouse, "I Need A Hero" at the climax, those radio stations - Adult Swim, 80s, Spanish Hip-Hop - good stuff all around.
I remember in the penthouse scene when playing it coop for the first time I hit the pool without the parachute and we were shitting ourselves. Good times.
Incidentally all things SR3 are on sale from Steam. Are any of the story DLCs good?
Tried the story DLCS with a friend in coop, they were alright but extremely short.
Genkibowl is ok. Kinda fun but some of the new activities just feel like the same ones (Particularly Apocalypse Genki since it is just Super Ethical Reality Climax with a new map and Yarn Gasm which is just mayhem with a giant yarn ball.) Gangsta's In Space is... sorta worth it. It's a fun set of 3 missions and its worth enough for $2. I actually really enjoyed Trouble With Clones despite the odd choices with it.
I wonder if Saints Row 4 will have Geomod in it. Volition considered using it for SR3 but ended up deciding not to, but they said that that doesn't rule out the possibility that it won't be in any future Saint's Row games.
Trouble With Clones is the only decent one.
I hate the DLCs for not letting you use their new content outside the missions.
I hate the DLCs for not letting you use their new content outside the missions.
That was one thing that was pretty disappointing also. I mean they let you keep some of the vehicles and homies which was nice, but what about the awesome laser weapons and superpowers?
I think they are making up from the superpowers by making the entire game based around them Hope it goes well, those powers were the highlight of all the DLC's
http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/03/22/saints-row-4-aliens-superpowers-and-dubstep-guns Interesting stuff
I still don't like how it's all but confirmed there will be nothing gang-related in the game. On the other hand, superpower games are fun, and good ones are hard to come by. Messing stuff up is always tons of fun in these games, especially if you feel like you can get away with it. I have to agree about the generic-ness of the aliens, though. One major flaw of SR3 was that everything felt generic - there was only one cop, two or three members of rival gangs, and about six or seven pedestrians. I hope they do something like Left 4 Dead to randomly generate pedestrians - like, design them with the character creator, and raise/lower the sliders with a range of +/- 5 to shake it up a bit.
My big problem with SR3, aside from how things got toned down to genericness and a lack of decent variety due to all the one-trick gimmick weapons and such that got old real fast, was that it had really bad balance. Their big idea of difficulty is basically throwing tons and tons of bullshit at you and let the regenerating health handle itself, and once you beefed up your abilities and weapons/vehicles you could just steamroll everything. Trying to be cool or inventive didn't feel like much payoff if you could literally one-shot most vehicles and enemies with pretty much anything by the endgame unless you intentionally skipped upgrades. Adding superpowers and superhyperwhacky weapons ontop of this doesn't sound like it'd help much other than some more one-trick gimmicks.

Those missions (I forget what they're called) when you drive around to three to five stops while your AI partner conducts business, I hated them at first. They force a five-star rating on you immediately, so you can have two brutes coming for you at once - when you're just starting out, even one brute is a death warrant. Or the 'survival' missions people call you about - just wave after wave of enemies, nigh-impossible when you only have three homies and none of them will answer the phone. Of course, then you just upgrade your everything until you can blow up a car in two hits. Then enemies ain't nothin but a thing.
Pre-order bonus for Saints Row IV detailed. [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2013/04/SR4_CiC_beautyshot5_SMALL.jpg[/t]
Deep Silver has announced the pre-order bonuses for Saints Row IV. Anyone who pre-orders at participating retailers in North America will be upgraded to the Commander in Chief Edition, featuring a Screaming Eagle weapon that “fires rockets out of its talons and can invoke the ‘Sonic Scream’ attack, leaving your enemies dazed, confused and likely scarred for life.” The Commander in Chief Edition also includes a limited edition Uncle Sam costume as well as the ‘Merica weapon, “full of incredibly astonishing firepower: flamethrowers, ultra-powered dub step guns and rocket launchers.”
AHAHAHA look at that gun!
I hope all those random guns that are strapped to that thing will show up as actual weapons too. I see a desert eagle there, some MP5 looking thing and some Remington 870 looking shotgun.
How about TF2 promos [sub][sub][sub]SR3 promos redistributed[/sub][/sub][/sub]

It uses an animation set similar to the Brute Flame Thrower & Brute Minigun weapons from SR3, but the player is not constrained to the slow walk speed. The weapon consists of the following weapons: -Light Machinegun -Sub Machinegun -Auto Shotgun -Heavy Pistol -Minigun -Rocket Launcher -Flamethrower -HUGE Combat Knife (can't see in the pre-order screenshot, unfortunately) All small arms weapons and the minigun are constantly firing when the trigger is held, and pressing X will alternate between the secondary firing weapon, which is either the rocket launcher or flamethrower - with the selected weapon rotating to the top of the weapon. It's a fuckin' beast. Hit me up with any questions and I'll answer what I can.
The only thing I miss from Saints Row 3 was: Low Gravity cheat, Angry Cars cheat. Those two combined in SR2 co-op resulted in some of the best fun I've had in a game. [editline]23rd April 2013[/editline] Aaaand I just found out there's a mod for that. http://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/index.php?threads/hidden-cheat-enabler.17/

Interview from about a month ago, some new info in there such as the ability to color your guns.
And i am so buying this, it comes out at August right?
I hope the gun customization isn't just gun upgrades like Level 1 - 4 or something as simple as that.
