Man, I just got attacked by an elf archer. I thought it might be an interesting chance of pace to fight someone that used an actual weapon against me, but then the arrow just paralyzed me. Then she tried to rape me. Oh well. Such is life.

I downloaded a copy with full english translations on both parts, the writing was alright- but the combat just felt like I was following a script, the choices were all scripted and nothing changed the outcome it seems. The developer seems really lazy since the only time choices mattered was during combat and if you paid attention to the dialogue it told you exactly what to do. I was hoping for some tough fucking battles not "this isn't working" *New attack available* "Throw salt at slug woman who wants to fuck you with her slime trail" The eroge didn't bother me because it fit in with the canon and everything but I just hated the overall lack of interaction with ANYTHING. Also the constant change in art style bothered me, the google sketchup backdrops mixed with randomly assorted styles of anime girls mixed with random writing styles- it felt like 3 guys passed the game around and picked up where the last left off.

This tripe not even fit for the ignorant hoi polloi, for such is the magnitude of this travesty, that it would even pierce the ever-present veil of somnambulance. Alas, I fear the good name of monster girl hentai will forever be sullied by this crime against humanity. I can only hope that the trauma I have endured during this experience will not lessen the pleasure of my weekly brunch of truffles and Foie gras.

I honestly don't see why facepunch is complaining about how much it will "scar" them.

I also didn't like how the fights were basically scripted and usually if you chose the wrong attack just once, it would instantly make you lose and you are presented with a weird sex scene for whatever monster you're fighting. I think one of the major things that made the story not-so-great was the main character. He's a complete retard. Everything is basically handed to him right in his face and he just goes all "OH THE GODDESS HAS SENT ME A VISION I WILL BECOME A HERO etc" I did like the boss theme music though. Went really well with Fredrika. Edit: And screw that guy in the video. He talks through the WHOLE FUCKING THING. Really ruins the boss fights and stuff, especially if he already knows what to do.

The battles very slowly become less scripted as you level up and the game goes on. There's only so many different ways a battle could play out before you actually learn more than one attack, right? Still, I tell myself it's more of a visual novel than a JRPG to satisfy my confirmation bias-like tendencies.
