Jim Sterling and Totalbiscuit have written it off as "Pewdiebait" though Sterling is curious as to why everyone's so hype about it. Now, the title banner for the game sucks ass, but it's still sad that scary games with screamers are labelled as such so early.
In the end, I'm glad there are a lot of people who see the game as something good rather than something shitty. Gives it that boost that'll give it a sequel.

On one hand, there almost certainly are going to be imitators and copycats along the line(if there aren't already), seeing as this "worked".
On the other hand, getting some mainstream appeal couldn't hurt. I wanna see this get figured into a Robot Chicken skit at some point, for one potentially "good" example.
I have owned the game for awhile now, but on my first play through by myself with my headphones on I only could managed to complete Night 1 before quitting.
Tonight, on my second play through, I managed to make it to night 4 completely unscathed, but only because I was in a well lit room with my brother watching. Night 2 and Night 3 both ended with no power and Freddy's music playing but thankfully I manged to get to 6 A.M before getting fucked.
I haven't fucked up once yet (Thanks to all the strategies I've seen online) but I know it's coming and I'm terrified. I may work up the courage to play night 4 soon.

That's probably one of the more interesting factors in the terror of this game. Even if you know it inside-and-out, figure exactly what Bonnie, Chica and Foxy will do and even have a handle on Freddy's general actions, you never know when you'll fuck up or they'll turn the tables. Since you can't run, all you can do is wait and counter, but only the best or most lucky can avoid getting fucked over and the tension's always remaining.

Yeah, okay, it's a totally different experience from watching people playing the game and playing the game yourself. I thought I was desensitized enough, but apparently not.
I honestly feel like I wasted money purchasing this game. Don't get me wrong it's great, but I got through level 1 and that was enough for me. I got so damn paranoid about being attacked when checking myself that I never used the camera once the feed had cut out.
Now I'm just stuck here starting at it in my Steam library
