Y'know, if Five Weeks in Freddyland were a thing, I'd like to imagine that as Mike continues to work the night shift at the abandoned park, his understanding of the original animatronics carries over, and the animatronics' understanding of Mike does the same, and as each week passes things get more and more intricate and creepy as the animatronics gradually evolve further. Mike handles the weekday shift, whilst an unseen employee handles the weekend shift, describing certain changes that occurred whilst she was on shift. In fact here's a projected roadmap assuming Mike doesn't slip up and SCREEEEE-.
Week 1 in Freddyland: More or less the same as the original formula only in a large theme park, with Mike coming to learn the layout of the park just as the animatronics are working out how to find the security centre. Sort of an introductory crash course for both parties involved.
Week 2 in Freddyland: Mike is granted additional privileges, including remote activation of attractions and facilities all over the park, no longer just the doors and the lights around the office. Different attractions would interact with the animatronics differently, like if Foxy is near the activated Pirate Ship, he'll likely be entranced and at points might even be seen on board the ship, whereas if the automated Cafeteria is up and running, Chica may end up spending extended periods of time trying to break into the serving area. However the attractions require a great deal of power to run, even from the extended power allowance, so choose wisely.
Week 3 in Freddyland: The animatronics start using their pre-recorded lines and routines during the nightly hunt (example, Chica may say "Let's eat!" in certain circumstances), and to further complicate matters the old park has started to attract teens, students and urbexers, since Week 3 is at the start of spring break. The animatronics may go after these youths, and Mike can either keep focused on his own safety, or try to keep the intruders from being attacked by the now increasingly active animatronics through use of attractions and certain doors.
Week 4 in Freddyland: The original voicelines of the animatronics are now recut and respliced into more personal, constructed patterns (Foxy's "AVAST YE, landlubber!" becomes "AVAST YEr ARRst-"), and Freddy, who has been seen roaming in specific parts of the part but only ever visiting when the power goes out, has finished repairing and repurposing an older animatronic to add to Mike's troubles.
Week 5 in Freddyland: Now the animatronics have full custom voice patterns, and start talking to unnerve him. Expect to hear "Michael..." "Arr, Mike lad!" and suchlike, as they look into the cameras. In terms of difficulty, Week 5 is the biggest challenge, now that Freddy is actively trying to hunt you down. Unlike the other animatronics, who try to talk to Mike before they try to "repurpose" him, Freddy and the new animatronic don't talk ever, focusing on making sure you don't make it to the end of Day 5, breaking previously established patterns to get to you, whilst the others still have some sense of "respect" for Mike surviving so long.
I personally think mike would get a better position as security cheif and have to watch over a couple other security guards; they'd report back to him and that'd how he'd learn the bots new tactics and the plot, they'd one by one die and mike would have to watch the places that now have nobody watching, slowly opening up the whole park to mike and the player until he's the last guard left
That'd also give the bots a chance to get bloodier and messier as the weeks go by

I love the thought of week 3. Imagine the moral choices you would have to make. Either let the bots get distracted by the youths and save yourself some time, or try your hardest to save as many people as possible.
If the developer hasn't thought of a theme park idea yet you should totally email this to him.

I don't know why but I laughed way too hard at that.
Its not intended as a jumpscare. Its more of that model that I posted earlier.
I hate to sound demanding, but could this model be animated to talk? Where did you get it?
Thing is, the whole thing with keeping an eye on teens whilst danger lurks in the shadows, that's definitely a Night Trap kind of thing. If it is done, would it be better to make models of people and have them be walking around, or go full-on oldschool FMV by having actual people recorded walking around mocked-up greenscreened sets?
Not sure if I agree with the dudes who think the animatronics should speak. Part of what makes animatronics unintentionally freaky is that, though they're designed (very poorly in the case of Freddy's crew) to appear as friendly cartoon characters, underneath they're just simple pre-programmed machinery moving to imitate a living creature. Freddy and his band move around and attack you in a way that appears to be life, but due to glitchy, bizarre behaviour and possible haunting, a good part of the fear comes from the unanswered question 'Are these just simple, if spooky animatronics freaking out, or are they alive and malicious and want me dead?'. Answering that question by giving the characters full voice clips would take away some of the mystery that makes them unnerving - even if it was just pre-recorded voice clips played by the animatronics due to their programming, the idea that they're communicating with you in such a normal manner would make them less 'Horrifying haunted machines doing a bad job of being not-so-cute mascots' and more 'Not-so-cute mascots made out of haunted machinery'.
If they did speak, I'd love it if it was something like the Night 5 phonecall - distorted, broken rambling from a busted processor. A full sentence ('Here comes Chica, ready for a treat?') would make the animatronics too alive and almost relatable - it would be way more uncanny valley if they used really badly chopped and distorted up pre-recorded phrases that are recognizably part of the animatronic's design, but not coherent enough to make them seem anywhere near human. ('[BBBZZZT] readyreadyred [BBZT] PLAYTIMEready [BZZ] eatEAT [BBZ]')
On a more objective note, the posters don't stop from getting spooky.

I like to think the mascots shut down the cameras so you don't flip over to the east hall and see Bonnie freeze and stare at you awkwardly as you catch him in the middle of blu-tacking up some new posters.

But he can teleport, right?
DA-DA-DUM!
While I do like the idea of talking animatronics, I agree with Lambda that they can't be full voiceclips. Having them occasionally say lines (hinting at where they are),replacing the screamer with something extremely loud and distorted, would make this a lot better.
I love this game and the lore/fanlore/art/community for it. You all and everything about FNAF is fucking amazing.
I suppose you could have a freddy's tower defence game of sorts where you have to keep random teenagers exploring a theme park alive by controlling access to areas to stop freddy and his crew from killing them. Since if they were killed, you'd probably lose your job and go to prison or something like that.
All while at the same time keeping yourself alive.

Sounds exactly like Night Trap but with the extra objective of keeping yourself from getting Freddy'd.
Jesus, everyone's getting on the hate train for this game now.
"It's just a worse version of Night Trap!"
"It's not scary at all, just jumps scares and anxiety".
"Just Pewdiebait hurr durr"
"I'm of too high an intellect to play this plebeian game, even though I've only ever seen the youtube videos of it and thus do not find it scary, meaning that my opinion is immediately moot since I haven't tried it to begin with."
I'm worried that this is what people will think of this game and that it will be remembered as such.
Don't worry about it, that's what the internet does when something gets popular. Look at frozen for example, the general consensus was that is was a fun movie, but as soon as it's popularity grew people began looking for reasons to hate it because they don't want to be mainstream.
One complaint that is definite bullshit is "Night Trap but worse"
That's literally impossible.
The only thing I'll say Night Trap has over 5N@F is a great theme song

The only thing this game even has in common is the fact that you look at cameras. And even THAT mechanic is different.
Y'know, I wonder if this game could have been made back in the 90's alongside Night Trap? Probably woulda been a smash hit on Sega CD.
I thought of another thing that could be done in the sequel, if the basic gameplay is similar anyway.
Basically, the early game could occasionally mess up the camera so instead of seeing the other rooms, you see the room you are in from your perspective, filtered as if its on camera. You could get rid of it by switching out and back in to camera view again, but it would freak out the player occasionally.
Then in the later game where the rules start changing, you gain a new animatronic 'encounter' (probably exclusive for Freddy) triggered by encountering this camera 'glitch' again, except this time you see Freddy right outside one of the entrances in the camera. You cannot see him in the 'real' view, but you must close the door where he is seen in the camera view or he will suit you up.
This is basically another reason to check the cameras regularly, as there are no other cues to warn you. But it should be easy enough to deal with once understood, much like with yellow Freddy.

If it was then many pants would have been shat, probably.
