ur telling me that i should buy a game that i didnt really like the demo of
i didnt say it was easy i said i didnt understand the tension. you always know youve lost before it happens so youre just waiting for the jump scare you know is coming, its tedious

'there was an animatronic a few rooms before mine before and now its nowhere, i guess its right in front of me, id better just put down the cameras so we can try again already'
thread is over, rusty told us like it is
The difference being with this game is that it's not some half-assed Unity level with a couple of downloaded assets.
Slender: The Arrival (The Paid-for Version of the popular original) isn't either.

that doesn't necessarily mean you've lost every time, it just means you need to be quicker with the cameras
it's a game of red-light-green-light with the occasional savage knotting

Yes, but as someone said before, Five Nights isn't based off of a stupid meme.
i also like the idea but not the execution. the reason you're there seems really contrived and after the stuff the dude says to you nobody in their right mind would stay because there are obviously murderous robots there. i know it's an indie horror game but for the horror to be, well, horrific, it needs to be a bit more believable. either tell us nothing, or what you do tell us, have it make sense. our imagination can fill in the blanks, but a flimsy plot really makes it hard to get invested.
also being able to walk around in your room wouldn't hurt. being able to fully turn around on the door frame or maybe even peek out of it would make this so much better. instead of making me feel like i'm a human swivel fan.

Its a shame that for the most part that game is tedious and the scares are mainly boring as fuck except for some unrelated to slender ones and maybe a few about the proxies.
i tried the demo i was kind of boring i don't really get the tension
just close the door when they're right there?
are you sure you played the game
yeah i just kind of waited and one of the animals head popped up in the door so i closed the door
???

!
that's it!
The fan was a massive clue the whole time, the player is literally a fan

Slenderman was Originally Created on Something Awful and for the initial concept, it seemed quite unique. When Marble Hornets came along, they took the concept and went to cloud fucking 9 with it. Its a shame that it was all downplayed eventually, although its still nice to see to this day Marble Hornets still doing something with him.

Good job
You know how to win in this game

Sorry. I shouldn't have said a stupid meme. I meant more of a meme that has such a stupid following as of late.
Glad I watched the gameplay of this when there was daylight, or else I'd be on edge for the whole night. The game is definitely creative and not something I expected for a horror game. Despite the loose plot and jump scare situations, it still looks fun, as fun as a horror game can be.
I'm about to play it for the first time. I'm fully prepared to shit myself.

Planning on streaming at all?
The difference being with this game is that it's not some half-assed Unity level with a couple of downloaded assets.
That never mattered. It was a populairty thing.

you're in there to keep the robots in the building/the guy on the phone is one of the robots

Man this game looks fucking awesome.
I'll never play it but still- fucking awesome.
I fucking love how the 4chan threads were closed because people were posting fap-fics and furry porn.
No John, you are the animatronics
And then John was stuffed inside a robot
That never mattered. It was a populairty thing.
Yeah, so was Amnesia but that game has aged much better than Slenderman.
you're in there to keep the robots in the building/the guy on the phone is one of the robots
I thought the guy on the phone was just the guard working the earlier shift who just can't admit what the robots are doing/tell you to run because of what the corporate overlords will do to him. Since everything he says has a painfully obvious but not explicitly stated second meaning.
Or the supernatural theories are somewhat correct and he's a ghost toying with you.
Nah, that sounds pretty dumb. Why would the kids haunt the suits to kill more people? What reason do they have for luring people in to kill them? They're innocent little ghost kids.
To be honest, the idea of this game just being 'machinery going wrong' freaks me out more than 'oh no scary ghosts are haunting the thing!'. The game uses nightmare logic to explain why the robots got so messed up, but the almost-plausible idea of 'animatronics went nuts and are hunting you' is super spooky compared to generic ghosties.
Planning on streaming at all?
Oh god no lmao. Sitting by myself scared out of my mind is better to me than frantically trying to not die on a stream in front of others.
you're in there to keep the robots in the building/the guy on the phone is one of the robots
why would one of the robots tell you how to not get killed by robots?
also, how would you be able to keep them in the building? they kill you as soon as they see you
also, why does a pizzeria have such little power? power doesn't work this way. is it not connected to the power grid? how come you can barely run a light for long, but there appears to be many other lights on in the pizzeria that aren't effecting your power usage?
if murderous robots are such a hazard, why is your only safety against them tied to your very very little power? why hasn't anybody installed a good old fashioned lock on the doors? if if is the robot who called you there, and he wants you to get murdered, why are there any closable doors there at all? i have more questions about this than i did prometheus
do you see how I can't really get immersed in this game?
Bought it off Desura and made it through the first night after 2 tries and still haven't made it past the 2nd night. It really keeps me on edge and super paranoid. Also kind of gives me anxiety. I want to keep playing, but, my anxiety is reallllyyy bad with this game and I'm NEVER like that with horror games. This has that special uniqueness to it that separates it from the run-of-the-mill horrors.
Going to give it another shot tomorrow night.

Cause without all that you'd just be playing a game where you stare at robots through security cameras for 5 days.....

The game feels intentionally ambiguous. You are in the building for a sinister reason, presumably as an offering. [sp]The phone guy's messages are recordings and he is seemingly killed by the main antagonist[/sp] You can uncover the backstory, which provides information but raises different questions, by paying attention to your surroundings.
Because it feels ambiguous, people construct different backstories, with (so far) no way to know which one is right. If you do not enjoy the gameplay, pls consider that it also has lore to offer.
I know you already know what I'm about to say, but I think this will be a response for people like you yet to come. Suspend your disbelief. This is like asking why the eagles didn't just fly the ring to Mordor.
Cause without all that you'd just be playing a game where you stare at robots through security cameras for 5 days.....
thats an argumentative fallacy though because you're taking the approach 'the game is flawed but the flaws allow it to exist!' wheras you could easily fix all the glaring problems with the game and tweak it accordingly. just change the story so that the problems do make sense. you would keep the gameplay, but just change the reasoning around it. it just means the developer had a lack of care or thought
