Yeah, it would be nice if we got a few more glimpses of actual movement.
Best horror comes from fear of the unknown. (Think of the first Alien, you never get a really good look at the Xenomorph) so I like the idea that they move in between cameras, but I agree it would be cool if you could every now and then flip to a camera and see a door closing, or a foot exiting or some hint that something was just in that room Actually,I know they already stare at the cameras, but how cool would it be if one of them waved to you?
does anyone remember itchy and scratchy land

Subtle stuff like that would work wonders on the atmosphere.
does anyone remember itchy and scratchy land
I was almost wondering if that was the episode that inspired this, because it's the first thing i thought of as well Although it might just be a common childlike fear because animatronics are spooky as shit. The idea of a non living thing being alive is a verry childlike fear again so this game really hits you in your 8 year old self and reduces you to that

Does that ever happen?
Why do I get the feeling that the Day 5 phone call doesn't actually mean anything, but is actually just a harmless developer message? With what Cufflux says,
i can make out "development", "easily po(ss?)ible to avoid" "quick elaborate" "to indicate the influence of various" "by a few" "the joy of creating"
it could just be the Dev saying that he enjoyed developing the game, and tried to make something "easily possible to avoid", and some influences on 5 Nights. The "joy of creation" thing might just be him ending the message on a creepy note for us to further explore into it.
Best horror comes from fear of the unknown.
A Message?
Something akin to, [sp]IT'S ME[/sp] over and over. And Freddy will instantly kill you if you try to cheat, apparently.
or once in a while you see them take a final step to where they are before they stop moving. little things like that. like they're TRYING not to be seen moving, instead of just looking like they can teleport
Now that would dramatically increase the creepy factor of this game.
yeah, those all sound like great ideas actually, and would make them feel more alive. The wax museum shit is creepy but I've always thought being toe to toe with something sentient is creepiest. It's why I love Pyramid Head. He clearly knows you to some degree and is keeping track of you. Jumpscare not, seeing that glowing red head in the bluecreek apartmnets is one of my favorite moments in horror vidya [editline]15th August 2014[/editline] Also my current theory on the lore is you're playing as John Connor, and they're all skynet machines.
I swear the Bunny looks at the camera all the time. I swear I see them making slight eyes to the camera or maybe i'm losing it
i think it would be 100x better if you catch them moving and they immediately stop and just stay like that, just to give an impression that they aren't, yeah, teleporting animatronics and it also gives the impression of some kinda higher level of thinking which is always creepy also if this ends up being some stupid fucking ghost shit that'll be gay as HECK
currently I think [sp] there's next to no lore and we all made it up[/sp] Is it so much to just ask that they're evil robots? Again, the skynet theory, coming in strong
why would one of the robots tell you how to not get killed by robots? also, how would you be able to keep them in the building? they kill you as soon as they see you also, why does a pizzeria have such little power? power doesn't work this way. is it not connected to the power grid? how come you can barely run a light for long, but there appears to be many other lights on in the pizzeria that aren't effecting your power usage? if murderous robots are such a hazard, why is your only safety against them tied to your very very little power? why hasn't anybody installed a good old fashioned lock on the doors? if if is the robot who called you there, and he wants you to get murdered, why are there any closable doors there at all? i have more questions about this than i did prometheus do you see how I can't really get immersed in this game?
*beep boop* Rusty100 does not understand the human concept of suspending disbelief *boop beep* [Sp]I was just messing around, he makes a good point[/sp]
Thats not all. Earlier I found [sp]Cam 4B the rules poster turns into a news story about the Pizzeria. [/sp] [sp]Cam 2B the Freddy poster changes into a fucked up one where it looks like the suit is stretching like skin and hes ripping his jaw and head off and you can see the wires of the neck. [/sp] [sp]Cam 5 the heads can turn at you on the table and ones on the wall change.[/sp]
Does anyone have shots of the latter two of these?
currently I think [sp] there's next to no lore and we all made it up[/sp] Is it so much to just ask that they're evil robots? Again, the skynet theory, coming in strong
Those posters on the walls were pretty legit. So were the phone calls. Though, there isn't enough info yet to reach any kind of solid backstory. Who knows what the updates will bring.
but i seriously prefer the idea of subtle movements with the others, even cliche shit like the turning of the head towards the camera in some rooms would be better than nothing
They do this, sorta, if you watch one too long in the positions they're supposed to be in later nights. Not genuine animations, but they'll begin twitching wildly, looking at the camera, or other things.
no, hes right about the immersion thing immersion is when you forget that you are dicking about with game mechanics, its a serious problem for really simple games that want to be immersive you don't have to agree with him but that doesnt mean he's wrong on this
Nah I understand, I was just messing around. Personally I wouldn't see it as a problem for me, but I can see it being the case for others.
As if a prime specimen like rusty could get spooked But no this game has some quality issues for sure, I hope this a start for maybe a more interactive game with more movement for sure. The best bit is when the wolf/fox pirate is coming for you down the corridor, the movement adds a time pressure to it
I don't understand how this game is super scary, it's creepy but when shit like the robots moving and you see them outside, I don't get scared, I might have a small jump, recover then continue.
Isn't the game prerendered? It doesn't use 3D models or environments.
seriously, even just basic movement ala PT in that one room would be great, like you have to actually go up to the console to look at the monitors, leaving your back to the doors. and going to close one door leaves your back to another open door. i think it would really give this game what it's missing
I saw the bird's head twitching on a stream last light so they can sort of move when you look at them sometimes
The rabbit and the chicken should be caught moving a little bit but I think its better if we never see Freddy properly move He can get you when both doors are closed so apparently the prick can teleport
At the end of the trailer, the bunny comes up close and reveals its robot head. Does that ever happen?
Trailer also had the bunny sprint at some location
135 new posts I get pumped thinking the Internet has discovered some great new shit. It's several pages of arguing with rusty gg facepunch never change
Just seeing them moving slightly before stopping when you change the camera to them would make it a lot more interesting.
135 new posts I get pumped thinking the Internet has discovered some great new shit. It's several pages of arguing with rusty gg facepunch never change
Hey, I'm trying but I can't find anything else in these sounds (although garble1 sounds suspiciously like it used to be a little girl screaming) and everything I've thrown at voiceover5 that Cufflux didn't is only making it harder to decipher. I'll go check the camera feeds from some higher quality LPs and see if I can get anything about those posters. Actually, there might be something in robotvoice, not sure what though. It sounds like it was someone talking at one point, but it's heavily distorted, sounds like speed and pitch have been altered, possibly reversed, and some other distortions as well.
Can someone post links to a few of the /v/ threads? I've only found one so far.
