Five Nights at Freddy's. The indie horror game where animatronics from a pizzaria try to murder you

Just watched the trailer for the sequel.
I'm legit scared, man. First game, you barely saw anything in the darkness and the doors were on your sides, which you could close on demand.
Now? It's crystal clear everywhere and the only entrance to your abode is a dark doorless hallway directly in front of you, giving you best seat in the house to witness your death from if something decides to walk in. All that saves you is schizoid paranoia and a mask.
This game fucks with you, its one purpose is to pull the rug from below your feet (or knock you off your chair, more like) when you think you're even close to safe.
Jesus christ.
Guys, I want to watch the trailer, I'm so excited and hyped, but I'm currently at work. At night. Alone. I don't want them to get me
EDIT: I watched it and now I am terrified of the air vent right above my desk. I should have waited until 6 am.

And don't forget that they can crawl in through the vents that at least one of the light buttons is right over the opening of.
How exactly mask hiding is going to work, since it doesn't consume energy? Maybe you are going to suffocate/pass out if you try to keep it on for too long?
Talking about whole mask-as-protection thing, I could see this as interesting gameplay mechanic:
What if you had SEVERAL masks?
When you spot animatronic coming towards you, you have to quickly choose the mask that is NOT the animatronic, so it ignores you. Pick wrong one and it'll see through the ruse.
Taking in account potential conflicts that may happen between old and new ones - you have to avoid putting on masks of NEW cast when OLD is after you and vise-versa.
I'd presume that the reason the new robots have facial recognition is to serve as a sort of auxiliary security system, keep pedos out of the kids' restaurant and all, but there's something a bit sinister about that: that means that these ones are designed to do whatever they're going to do to you. The original ones it could've been a malfunction, or a possession, we don't know, but the new ones? They're built to hurt people.
Which also sort of does tie into the idea that the old ones had some real heart and soul to them while the new ones are just killing machines.

Freddy looks really different, is it supposed to be the same one?
Also don't forget there's probably more animatronics that haven't been announced, like Foxy in the first game

I believe there are two of each character now, because the trailer did show both old and new freddy.

That isn't the new Freddy, that is the old Freddy but slightly modified same with Foxy.
I like what he did with the new one, the old Freddy has 2d cartoon eyes

The way I see it, it's akin to Portal -> Portal 2. Minor design retcons to make things look nicer.
Although, that icon really isn't flattering. The lighting on the old one looks a lot better.

Yes, but the trailer DOES show new freddy up on stage looking different from old freddy who is elsewhere in the video.

But you quoted a post that had an Old Freddy and New Old Freddy in it where they both look alike, while the new Freddy and old Freddy look very different.
I noticed in the trailer, that clicking on a room button (the buttons that change the camera) 2 times turns a light on, or either lights turn on a few seconds after turning on a camera. It could be a key press, however the mouse stayed on a button until after a light was turned on. Also no cameras in the hallway in-front of you, this will be terrifying.

If that's new Freddy (the one on the left), then who the hell is this:

Or if the one from the trailer is new Freddy, then who the hell is the one on the portrait on the store page? They hardly look alike. I don't see why they would redesign old Freddy if the new one is supposed to be his replacement anyway. It doesn't make sense.

I'm sure it's the same freddy, but there's just some slight changes to make it look nicer (as you might have noticed foxy's head is a slightly different shape too)

He looks more...Ainsley Harriott-y.
I wonder if there's going to be a difference in the viciousness of the AI. I can imagine the new ones are mostly just wandering around while the older ones are going to be a lot more... vengeful about their situation.

All 4 of the old animatrons got a "face lift". Maybe Scott just felt like remodelling them. It's like GLaDOS from Portal, she looked way different in the second game compared to the first, same with Chell.
The skeleton looking puppet guy is actually an animatronic that gained sentience through the new technology updates and is constantly creating and pushing out new forms of the old FN@F crew, all with different asthetics and abilities. The new security guy has to fight them off Killing Floor style.
Fuck Golden Freddy, his got nothing on the new creepy slenexndo skeleton

I just hope they give a reason why the old animatronics got polished and redone despite the fact that they're technically being replaced by the new ones. If you'll also recall from Portal 2, there is absolutely no in-universe reason given as to why Chell or GLaDOS look different compared to the first game, just small rumors and speculation that were never confirmed or disproven by Valve.

I don't like inconsistency between games and their sequels, doubly so if there aren't any canonical retcons to explain it.
Does anyone else not like the idea of being able to wear an empty suit head to trick them? I thought in the first game it was sort of hinted at that it wouldn't work, and the whole "They'll think you're an endoskeleton without a suit" thing was a lie and wasn't the reason they were coming after you. There is supposedly a rule against not having a complete suit which is why phone guy says they will try to get you, but in the storage room there are suits without an Endoskeleton and Endoskeletons without a suit as well. If that was the reason they come after you the spare parts in the back room wouldn't be allowed either and the animatronics would do something about them instead of just ignoring them and going straight for you. If the spare parts are allowed in the storage room despite not being part of a complete suit, phone guy should of been safe by hiding in there, but they still went after him. When they do catch you they try to shove you into an empty suit, but if they think you are an endoskeleton that means they are trying to shove two of them into one suit as they also put an actual endoskeleton in. It just doesn't make sense if that's the actual reason and they can be tricked by just wearing part of a suit.

That's exactly what I said. :v:
What I'm getting at, though, is that the changes were never mentioned in the game or by the developers themselves, they just tossed it in and wordlessly expected us to go along with it without any rhyme or reason. I don't want to see that happen in 5N@F2, especially since there were so many other things left unexplained in the first game that we're all hoping gets answered in the sequel.
To be honest from those preview pics game seems to be mostly finished
One of pictures showed night 5 at screen.
So Scott is going to work on some deep within game plot till 2015 :v:?

I was misreading things and distracted by work, he linked... New Old Freddy on the left and Original Freddy on the right. Wasn't there rumors that Freddy had taken Old Bonnie's face and used it for repairs on himself, from the first two FNAF2 teaser images? That would explain the differences in looks.

And

They both look similar to me.

There are essentially 2 generations of animatrons in FN@F2. You have the old animatrons (which have updated 3D models (rounded teeth, details etc) and you have the new animatrons which are "kid-friendly". So 8 fuckers to look out for.
There might be more things to look out for as the drawings from the trailer show a weird ass puppet and some weird animatron with balloons.
You know what's that puppet guy for me in the pictures drawn?
The phone guy. Yep.
He gave us an false feel of being safe in the FNAF 1
He told us nothing bad will happen and so on.
He was puppet of the animatrons imo.
