Five Nights at Freddy's. The indie horror game where animatronics from a pizzaria try to murder you
From what I heard dealing with Yellow Freddy is
1). Keep the Camera on the poster
2). Pull Camera down
3). Look at Yellow Freddy for a quick second
4). Pull Camera up quickly as possible
5). Switch to any other camera as quickly as possible
Not sure if there is anything after that, like pulling the camera down after you switch.
I thought the trick to it was just switching away from the poster, i'll try this next time.
I personally think Yellow Freddy is an old Freddy animatron that was replaced by a new one after some of his joints got permanently locked (which is why he's posed so awkwardly). He was put deep into storage but during the night occasionally goes back onto free roam mode. Since his leg joints aren't locked he can easily get around the place but due to faulty eyes takes a bit of time to recognise the player as an endoskeleton, so if you pull up the camera thing he ends up disregarding you.
There are probably a bunch of holes in this theory but hey, I think it sounds alright.
Freddy isnt RNG at all, his mechanic is he follows a set path to get you once it starts(bonnie/chica have no set path, they can wander) Freddie will B-Line for you and the only way to stop him is to continuously check up on him on the camera as hes way less likely to move. You cannot see him with the light, instead you have to listen for his audio cues and be smart with the door.
There is a laugh that happens that means Freddy has advanced, it doesnt always happen I think, the way you stop him from randomly scaring you is you only need to do the door when hes right near the 2 rooms before the door, most likely the 1 room thats closer(freddies entire face takes up the final camera before the door, once hes gone the door needs to be shut, Chica and Freddy can continuously change spots if both are at that last camera before the door making timing Freddy incredible difficult)
Keep an eye on Freddy, his eyes are all you can see btw so look for 2 yellow dots.
Hes Foxy but instead needs to be watched and instead of running down the hall he takes his time hiding in all the rooms before he gets you.
He gives no door cues btw, you have to use the camera for Freddy+Laughs to be good against him.
When music is in the Kitchen that means Freddie is on the right. Dont think I have seen him on the left yet.
Okay that explains how the hell ive died half the time, if you lock him out in time will he just repeat the set path he has chosen or what? I never got that.
I don't think anything survives.
The Chicken groaning human like noises kinda adds to the theory if we go with the previous guard being stuffed inside. I don't even buy the idea the Freddy himself thinks your a endoskeleton and is just putting your costume back on, he is legitimately fucking with you

Unless the 'hole behind the poster' theory is true, which people are now trying to claim is bullshit, he'd need the same strange capabilities Freddy himself has to bypass the doors. Considering Yellow/Golden is the only animatronic besides Freddy to get the hallucinations except to such a heavy extreme that merely gazing at him causes them to appear, I feel more like this one's basically the player character envisioning their own death and being driven to suicidal insanity if they stare upon it too long. Thus the game closing instead of just being sent back to the main menu.
Also a bit drastic in theory-making, though. v:v:v

I dunno. I think after you catch him with the door you just have to keep an eye on him.
So this is like game is like Chuck E Cheese meets Westworld, I take it?
Also what engine was this made in?

Multimedia Fusion, I believe.
There is a laugh that happens that means Freddy has advanced,
That would explain why streams with Freddy at 20 difficulty have constant, non-stop deep laughter. He's endlessly moving.

Paul Blart vs. Chuck E. Cheese, in a frenzied game of red light green light.
most of this game feels great but I'm going to be honest, the fact that it bases itself entirely on cheap jumpscares is lame as fuck
Most horror games that uses them, at least, if its like, outlast, lets say, I've found to be really terrible games.
At the same time I feel it builds tension before the jumpscare, so, I guess it's much more properly done in this game, it suits it better than other games. Jumpscares are the easiest to ignore in games though.

The game is stressful as fuck even without the horror element. Keeping track of everything gets super difficult.

As other people have said, the only true jumpscares come if you die, so they're more of an incentive to get better at the game than anything else.

which makes it feel much better than other games with the scares at least, if it wasn't so well done I'd have given the game a 3/10 on the give a shit scale. Penumbras at 9/10 on the "Holy SHIT" scale
keeping track of shit is a massive deal. I hope more horror games implement this.
Could someone post pictures or transcripts of the murder/sanitation reports?

You only get a jumpscare if you die as opposed to some games which shove it in your face regardless of failure.
That gets a few brownie points from me.
I feel like there's one jump scare that I think is okay: the Fox. You see him running towards you before it happens. There's a preemptive warming for it, rather than out of nowhere.

Boy, have they got a vacation for you...
I dunno if it's better that you don't have to walk around the damn place and avoid patrolling animatronics, or worse that you're stuck in a single room with no real prospect of escape.
Also, I dunno if this has been posted already (probably has considering this game), but this clip is probably pretty relevant by this point.

It's been posted in the beginning of the thread, along with several other Rock-afire videos.
Needless to say though, it's still worth posting.
So apparantly someone on 4chins is trying to get a team to make a fucking Virtual Novel out of this shit.

The rest are a punishment for fucking up, which is fine by me.
Unlike generic horror shooter where I'm walking down a bland hallway and OOGA BOOGA SPOOKY FACE WITH LOUD NOISES!!!!!

How can I window this game?
How can I window this game?
Update it.
How can I window this game?
Try alt+enter.
Does this game require audio? Or can I turn the audio off and listen to other stuff, because the only way I see myself playing this game is doing that, I can't make it past the phone call at Night 1.

He has the worst Jump scare in the game,[sp] even if his warning one happens. The one that happens if the door fails is just the worst and probably hit me the hardest because from previous encounters the door has always saved my ass right up until then and i actually had no knowledge he'd actually crash through it.
Im not sure if it happens on a specific day or what but it definitely happens at low power.[/sp]
If i had to put another one, it'd be the chico or bunny failures, where they creep up to you and breath continuously until you put the tablet down. At that point i just hit esc and i can't take it.

From what I've seen, you need the audio to find out when the characters are close.
There's a short sound predicting when Freddy(?) comes and a song at the end to define when characters are close.
Idk rly.

Audio makes it much easier, since the animatronics have audio cues, like Freddy's laughing, Bonnie/Chica rifling around when close by, and Foxy's footsteps as he runs when caught on camera.

Tell me you didn't secretly want this to happen.
I will be disappointed if it doesn't have a complex love triangle.

If it were any other game doing this without the mechanic of failure=scare or "pay attention to 5 killer bots or DIE" I'd call it a broken game
but it certainly makes an interesting concept and FNaF definitely should be respected for its creativity.
