So a friend of mine told me about this *creepy* game, so I picked it up on desura for a couple bucks.
Intro was pretty funny. Then I was just watching the creepy robot things, started looking around at other cameras for a bit, look back, and all three of those mother fuckers were gone. I put the tablet/camera thingy down to look in the room, and mother fucking bird thing was looking through the door, and this purple cunt fucking jump scared my ass.
Jesus christ, it was only level 1.
I'd love to see a TAS of this game.
The AI seems predictable and exploitable enough to get some crazy plays.

Ugh, your so defenseless.
So much more then Amnesia, Slender or anything ive ever played.
You are literally stuck to a chair as the robots antagonize you right up to the moment you are dead.
Cameras and Buttons aside, all you can do is look and wait and try to adapt to whatever the AI has in store for you and depending on what day your on, the easier it'll be to adapt to such a shitty situation.
The Graphics and Animation do alot of the heavy lifting in setting the atmosphere. It feels like im playing a 3DO game, there is always something about older games that scare me. Im not quite sure what it is but for a game that feels older then it actually does. It pulls this off flawlessly.
People aren't wrong in saying that this is Special, it certainly is and it works because its such a dark setting. I can't imagine how this guy made this up, except from personal experience. Its a original idea but im so scared out of my mind to replay this game that im probably not going to want to revisit 5 Days at Freddy's.
Call me a wimp or whatever, but as you ramp the difficulty up there is a overshadowing inevitability that your going to die a horrible death no matter what you do, be it Freddy or Fox or the rest of the Crew and that makes me feel more scared then any time i was playing Amnesia The Dark Descent.
Its a Brilliant Game but it scares a entire sewage plant of shit out of me and this particular type of horror im especially frightened of hence i won't be revisiting after my long playsession last night.

If it makes you feel any better I'm too scared to even play it so you have more stones than me
I think the visuals looking dated and yet not being dated adds some sort of surrealism and uncannyness to it. Makes it even more unsettling
So I did a little fiddling around and as it turns out even though Freddy does have START a trigger for once viewed camera, he actually starts on during certain nights. Foxy is still only triggerable by looking at him though.

Also Foxy's stop trigger is rng based unlike Freddy, he has about an 80% chance from stopping on view and otherwise its simply ignored.
I have to say though that when I was playing this game, almost all the fear I had from tracking the animals on limited power simply vaporized after the first time I was caught simply due to how bad the game ending jumpscare was. In full light they lose most of their creepyness due to how smoothly they move, and their scream isn't very unnerving at all. I would say its a minor complaint for an otherwise stellar horror game that kept me on my toes for my first run, but after dying once, the arn't frightening at all anymore. I think that could be remedied by making them rush the camera (especially foxy) and replacing their scream with something far more unnerving. I know Freddie pops up from behind the counter but he's the only one, the others simply stand in place and the game cuts out. I would personally piss myself if the animals sounded like worn machinery rather than an annoyed bat.
