• Five Nights at Freddy's. The indie horror game where animatronics from a pizzaria try to murder you

Dear Facepunch: How do I get my coward babby "I don't like the spooky horror game" friends to play this? It's frustrating. I have one person maybe in thirty who actually had the nads to try it. :v:
I've run out of artistic ability, so it's done now.
You know, it's one thing for the business in charge of this fucked up pizzeria to be trying to restore their character while being cheap and lazy-improvising as shit. But then I remember that one quote, [sp]In the hearts of these kids, these characters will live on.[/sp] Combine this with the obviously dangerous work aside from people's theories that it's keeping the animatronics from going rampant in the town, and the fact that this company would probably have to check and tinker these things themselves (especially with the reports of sanitation problems), and I get the feeling they're more directly involved than I thought rather than just being incompetently lazy. And since the dev is already considering a sequel [sp]and Freddy's obviously not handled whatsoever by the end of the game, combined with 'these characters will live on,' it's only gonna get worse even if the company goes under.[/sp]

Suck so hard they'll try to beat you. When they finally try it out, show off how you made it to night seven.
How bad is some of the artwork people have done for the game?
How bad is some of the artwork people have done for the game?
Very.
Oculus. Rift. Support.
The only place where it would realistically make a difference would be in the security office, since otherwise you'd be staring through a camera you have no control over and the advantage of depth perception doesn't apply to flat screens.
Kind of disappointing the only big moment the game's got going for it is getting caught, which is basically the same screamer every time. Could use some more variation.
That idea of a break-in occurring and the animatronics going after the burglar is fantastic IMO. The perfect thing to spice up a playthrough. Just imagine: you're playing the game in the usual manner when you hear smashed glass. Suddenly all activity from the animatronics stops and it's silent save for the intruder. You'd have a few seconds to observe them through the camera before the camera goes offline and then you can only listen as the animatronics attack.
I like the idea of having to guide a NPC through the building and back while making sure they don't get attacked. Have it so that they move forward one room on your command in any possible direction. Steer them away from any active mascots by making sure the way is clear. Maybe a few hiding spots here and there to try and wait for the mascots to pass by before moving forward if they're in the way. Could be harder if the mascots are actively moving during the sequence (Even moreso if you're still at risk of being attacked during it.) and there'd have to be an incentive to sending someone out - maybe in order to get supplies or extra power. Could be that the initial supply of power you've got is all you have for the whole week unless you send someone out to get more. Mess up and accidentally get your NPC partner killed? You're fucked.
How bad is some of the artwork people have done for the game?
Depends, do you like bird tits and fox dongers? If so. Not very. If not, then 100% awful.

Am I the only person that thinks that if this game was entirely made in a engine like source (Instead of pre-rendered) it would be less scarier?
This game is like the games on PSX where everything was block shaped, the block shapes scared you more than the smooth ones!
Here are some stats for nerds. If Bigbugz wants to beat this, he needs to average just about 14% an hour. This is with the conditions that he makes full use of the Safe Period, sees Foxy twice, and has a Freddy power outage delay of 30 seconds. As I stated before, Freddy may have a delay of between 20 to 50 seconds according to Bugz.
No it's just that prerendered images will always be more scary than in-game things. Which is why these always scared everyone when they were kids. There needs to be a montage parody of this game
There needs to be a montage parody of this game
what does that even mean
Oh my god Bigbugz was so close to beating 4x20, if the Freddy song completed and didn't cut off early he would have made it. [editline]17th August 2014[/editline] I also can't believe how he can play this for 7 hours a day everyday
Oh my god Bigbugz was so close to beating 4x20, if the Freddy song completed and didn't cut off early he would have made it.
It wasn't 4x20, Foxy was set to 10.

If it's 20/20/20/10 that defeats the purpose of doing 420 mode. Not too sure why he did that.

If bugz only gets 1 foxy run at him, he can win with full freddy song. It is so unbelievably hard and you need to be absolutely perfect to do it as well as perfect rng.
A popular Twitch streamer (Towelliee) is about to play this game for the next hour, starting in about five minutes.
Having three streams open is not healthy for my goddamn internet damnit :v:
