why didnt security guy bring a gun???? or a big giant bag of M&Ms to distract to roborts?? a giant pepperoni pizza??? oven mitts? why didn't he ruin the player's suspension of disbelief by doing something that disobey's the game's mechanics?
Sorry if this is already late but the night 5 call is apparently a quote from Autobiography of a Yogi
Listen along the decoded audio from either of the 2 videos while reading the quote, it's pretty much a match. The "would it not be easily possible to employ" and "posses the joy of creative" parts are especially evident.
Actually doing this biases your perception of the audio. You're much more likely to hear what you're reading regardless of what is actually in the audio. This is how people "proved" there were Satanist lyrics in the reverse of songs by bands like Rush or The Beatles.
Listening to this without reading I can only pick up something about the laboratory.

There's a sign somewhere in the game that specifically tells employees to not try to fool the animatronics by wearing a suit. It doesn't say why, but we can probably take a guess.

I think the "they think you're an endoskeleton" thing is bullshit. It's probably just a cover up for them murdering because a man did murder someone according to the lore. maybe he made them gruesomely murder so he dosen't have to it himself, and still enjoy every minute of it.
you guys remember the ending of The Terminator, the truck explosion and the factory scenes?
someone with video editing tools and skills, do a clip of that; slap some mascot's head on the T-800.

I hope it isn't bullshit.
I think it's much more chilling that the rules given to them to prevent them scaring the kids are responsible for them killing people.

The call also said its very difficult for a human being to fit inside the suit. It also makes sense it would be the robots because you'd need a frame to fix the suit on correctly, mainly the teeth or else the jaw would hang out open and you'd be more easily identified. The costumes are designed to be fixed to a exoskeleton, not to a human body.
Someone was Framed here, in order for the company to protect its investments.
I haven't actually played the game but the story is quite interesting.
It seems fairly clear that the whole “They'll think you're an Endoskeleton without a suit” thing is a lie and there's something else going on. Things just don't add up with that explanation. There are suits in the back room without an Endoskeleton, and there are Endoskeletons without a suit as well. The guy on the phone says it's against the rules, which may actually be the case for when they're in use (not allowed to have them on stage without the full costume) but that isn't the reason they're after you. If that was the reason, they would have done something about the parts in storage but instead they completely ignore them and go straight for you; if parts are allowed in the storage room, then Phone guy should have been fairly safe by hiding in there. Maybe that's he thought he would be safe in there, which is why he was in there In the first place. It seems strange that he would decide to leave the security office and go to the backstage storage area. He knows what is likely to happen but there must have been something that convinced him to go back there.
Another problem with this which I haven't seen anyone else consider yet is that they're trying to stuff you in a costume that already has an endoskeleton inside. If it was just an empty costume it probably wouldn't be so much of a problem. That means if the “They'll think you're an Endoskeleton without a suit” is true, they'd basically be trying to fit two inside a single suit. That suggests phone guy doesn't know the real reason for why the animatronics behave how they do and what he tells you on the phone is just what he's been told by others.
I haven't seen anyone try to come up with an explanation for this yet, but why is everything suddenly safe at 6am? That's when your shift ends, but I doubt they'd stop coming after you and give you a chance to leave. Perhaps that's when they reset back to their original programming and return to their original state. They're set to 'free-roaming' mode from 12am to 6am, at which point the day is supposed to begin and they forget what they're doing and go back to their starting position. That would explain why you can still win if it gets to 6am even with no power and one of them right at the door.
Maybe no one is there during the day but things carry on as normal and are fairly safe as they follow their original programming. The trailer does mention it's a place of joy during the day, but that might just be the animatronics carrying out their original purpose even though no one is there anymore to watch. At night they automatically go into 'free-roam' mode, and that's why security guards are needed; to keep the animatronics from escaping. They are there to distract them, that's why they get paid so little - they're not expected to survive. Phone guy mentions most people don't last 3 days. That would also explain why you get fired - you're doing too well, so they don't want you there anymore.
Something else I thought about: Phone guy doesn't really seem like a normal security guard, as he has been there for some time and he reads the introductory greeting from the company, which you wouldn't expect if he was just a random person there for a few days like Mike is. Also, when did the other security guard record those messages? I haven't noticed any specific dates in what i've seen of the game, but he does mention they've been performing for 20 years, which suggests he's recorded his message around 20 years after they first got the animatronics. The place was open in 1987 and they had them then, so it could be 2007 at the latest, or it could be much earlier then that. However, by the time the player gets there; he has already been dead for at least a few days as he says he is finishing his last week before you start, so this all happened during the previous week at least. He was dead before you even got there and they're all pre-recorded messages. They could have been left there for years. There is no date on the notice about them closing down, Pirate cove seems like it hasn't been used for a while considering the state of Foxxy, there are cobwebs everywhere and things looks abandoned or in poor condition; Perhaps Freddy's has actually been closed for years.

At the moment I am entertaining the headcanon that the rules were designed to lead to this kind of thing. The animatronics try to follow the rules to the best of their ability, unknowingly leading to a number of gruesome deaths.
Whether or not he's the mastermind though, I think Freddy's in on it. Something about him is off compared to the other characters.

More or less the same conclusion I came to. One other thing, though, there's no phone visible in the office.
I think this is on purpose to show that it's not possible for you to be getting these messages as though it's an answering machine, and even if he set them up to be sent the corresponding day the following week, how the hell did he send day 4, and what is the one on day 5?
Although this opinion isn't popular, I think that this is definitely proof that there's more going on than rogue animatronics or kids haunting stuff. I think it might be some sort of purgatory for your character.
Something I noticed is that the tactic of "playing dead" actually works, it makes Freddy's death song last longer, similar to how you would stop a real bear from attacking you, or any predator for that matter.
Something which I don't get is when you do this tactic, you'd be expected to have an exoskeleton shoved into you, right? Nope. Same old ending. Probably because it would be difficult to code a different ending like that.

Well the developer did confirm that the place is haunted in some way, so it's safe to say there's certainly more then meets the eye here. Personally, I believe that all the animatronics except for Freddy follow these "rules" that management has. And Freddy... Well he just does whatever he wants. Which is sadly, him attempting to murder you with the rest of his friends.

He does say he's recorded them so it's definitely something from at least the previous week. It can't be things from during that week as there is only one security room and there would be no reason to have two guards at the same time. It seems like those messages could have been set to repeat near the start of each night shift on each day of the week, perhaps by the owners or by the animatronics themselves (assuming the day 5 message is from them)
At least its foxy, foxy just wants to make you his first mate
He just does knot want you to feel alone.
tbh i don't think the story is, or is meant to be, as complex as some of you think it is.
i like to think that the entirety of freddys is just simplistic evil robot dark humor. anything supernatural is just a hallucination or the developer going "the posters changing would be pretty scary so i'm going to put that in"

If this is the case, then maybe it has to do with the Killer of the 5 kids, as he was dressed up as Freddy.

maybe the killer dresses as Freddy, and when he comes in at night fucks with the robots' programming to make them kill people. Since he's disguised as freddy, they don't kill him.

But you never see anyone come in at night, and if management saw someone come in before midnight and hide in a Freddy suit, they would find them and then get thrown out.

Maybe he doesn't come in, because he never left?
I still wonder why the animatronics smell of dead corpses, maybe they stuff the body parts inside themselves?

Telephone guy is an unreliable narrator. Those recordings could be YEARS old. The last of the swapped posters talks about how Freddy's had been in decline for years and struggling -- and there was the Bite of '87, which clearly means it's not the same year at least unless that event never even happened and telephone guy's been misled about the 5 dead kids incident.
Those messages may have been playing for hundreds of guards, with nobody expected to survive to day 5 so they just get a new guy, mop up the blood stains at 6am before business hours, and pick up the next resume off the pile for an interview for the night's shift.
You're right, I'm just pointing out that "at least the previous week" is possibly a bit limiting.
i like to think that the entirety of freddys is just simplistic evil robot dark humor. anything supernatural is just a hallucination or the developer going "the posters changing would be pretty scary so i'm going to put that in"
Word of God is that the animatronics are "haunted" (quotation marks included in the dev's original comment) in some way. There is something going on, although it's not necessarily strictly supernatural/ghostspook. It could very well be "the robots are evil and management is complicit/incompetent and is primarily focused on profit", but that takes all the fun out of it.
Horror works best when the reader/viewer/player is not in control and doesn't know what is going on, but there has to at least be the appearance of some sort of incomprehensible, dark logic or sinister pattern behind the scary happenings, they can't just be purely random events. Otherwise you're just watching horrible things happen to people for no reason and it's not scary and there's no tension because there's no plot, no greater reason for these events to be happening in the order they're hitting.
Maybe he doesn't come in, because he never left?
Again, management would have found them and thrown them out.
Wouldn't it make sense that Golden Freddy is the suit the Killer dressed up in to lure the 5 children to their death?. It's always shown to be completely empty and has arguably the most insane and creepy occurrences of appearance.

One thing that they have in common is that it's in the back room, it's Freddy, and the intent is to kill/haunt.
