I wish Overkill would have at least made the level cap 31 so we could try a tier 5 perk and the Full Body Armor.
I think you can actually reach Tier 5 perks if you invest all your points into one class, but yeah I agree about the armor.
Like I figured out that, to get the skill to Lockpick safes, I'd have to be level 36. That would be going purely Ghost and going with the absolutely most optimal expenditure of skill points possible.

Someone here said they did the math and you'd be 1 point short.

Pretty sure that's what OverKill wants players to do. They want each player to dedicated themselves to a tree.
Someone here said they did the math and you'd be 1 point short.
You'd be seven points short:
Pretty sure that's what OverKill wants players to do. You'd have seven points left over to put in to other trees. (I don't count the initial point you have to put in to a tree to unlock its basic equipment as a skill.)

The current build I intend to use is 96 points in Ghost, 19 points in Mastermind, and 5 points in Enforcer. I have a second nearly identical build but with 92 points in Ghost and 9 points in Enforcer.
Left the beta downloading overnight.
4% downloaded.
Fuck yeah.
Hm, I could get full Joker by level 30. I'm actually on route to getting it with my current setup.
Of course, it'll be wiped in a week or two, but it's still nice to work up to it.
I really want the Mastermind tier 5 skill Inspire Aced so I can yell at people to revive them and intimidate civilians indefinitely with my voice.
They will call me, Dovahkiin.

I bet you can't make phone calls while you're connected to the internet either
you can only get 120 points in the main game and i did the math with the cheat engine. to get a point in every skill requiring 3 aces versions its around 50 without acing it all. Acing everyone in one tree costs like 140
Wrong, acing everything in one skill tree is 145 (Oh god that reference):
1 point to unlock skill tree
First 3 tiers - ( 1 normal point + 3 ace points ) * 9 skills = 36
Second 3 tiers - ( 4 normal points + 8 ace points ) * 9 skills = 108
108 + 36 + 1 = 145
Someone here said they did the math and you'd be 1 point short.
Level 30, tier 5, 2 points to spare. http://www.pd2skills.info/#/profile/example-2/
Whoever did the math probably didn't take into account the fact that you get 3 points every 10 levels instead of 1.
Plus haven't people around here been talking about using the saw, which is a tier 5 skill?
I bet you can't make phone calls while you're connected to the internet either
Seems like my router shat it's lower intestines out while I was at work.
Since I made that post I'm at 22%. Maybe I'll get to play when I wake up later today.
Personally, I'm going with dual trees in PD2- a lot into Mastermind and Enforcer, basically. I don't like having only one tree, it kinda limits me in my playstyle. A brutal saw user who yells throughout the battlefield reviving teammates and turning enemies to their side? Sign me up.
http://goo.gl/Q3vVa2 How's this for a loadout?
just a heads up dont go for the saw its a waste of a million or so
Improved combined tactical vest + super shield that regenerates almost instantly from technician.
Probably going with this build on release.
Also, does anyone feel Gunslinger and Kilmer could have been condensed into a single skill? I mean, both up the reload speed of the specific weapons, and you already have a recoil reducer on the seconds tier.
Compared to the other tier 5s, it's really weak.

Ace cable guy
Ace cable guy
Shh, it's all about stamina
Everyone knows this
Probally they are going to add a higher level cap with some new heists in a DLC/update, something like that, so you can fully upgrade all the trees or at least most of them.

That sounds dumb. I don't want everyone to have everything or even close to everything.
That sounds dumb. I don't want everyone to have everything or even close to everything.
Agreed here, that would be very boring and there wouldn't be a difference between high leveled players. With the current cap, you can have one guy who runs enforcer, one guy with technician, one with ghost, and one with mastermind, and even hybrids of the 4.

If Borderlands 2 influenced their decisions at all, this is very likely to happen.

Yeah, this is the problem, and probably makes it unlikely.
We posting builds now?
http://goo.gl/f25NF9
I'm planning on doing something like that.
At least they fixed it cancelling out actions that you were performing. It was rage inducing when it was a vital action like disabling a pager, or disabling c4.
SHIT, added the wrong ingredient in the meth lab. Please someone join in the split second I added it /:v:\
I must be absolutely mental but this is the build i'm gonna run with in the full release
basically, tanking, support packmule, and melee centered
http://www.pd2skills.info/#/profile/melee-build/
Step 1: Figure out where the security room key card is, and get it.
Step 2: Take out the guard in the security room to disable cameras.
Step 3: Eliminate all guards (You'll need a mastermind for the surrender and convincing pager skill), and the manager if he's still about. Take advantage of the fact that no one except cameras care about cuffed guards.
Step 4 (If vault is in front of bank): ECM Jam if you can, take out the tellers, keep everyone down, and keep an eye on the alarm button in the back room until everyone is secured.
Step 4 (If vault is in back of bank): Sneak into back room, tie down the 0~3 people who would see you standing at the vault.
Step 5: Drill, get money.
Step 6 Prepare for a thousand restarts if you fail it with pieclock as host
Its fucking idiotic they're gonna reset the profiles when the game releases. I'm going to lose all my shit I unlocked. God damnit.

The whole point of the skill trees was to prevent everyone from getting anything. I don't know why Overkill would make an update in the future that would destroy an entire mechanic of the game.

Cry about it, they're resetting every update that's not a hotfix.
I am going to cry about it. I like the stuff I unlocked.
