Is there anybody in this thread who did not like the original Payday but enjoyed Payday 2? I am curious.
It's even easier with saw...
And takes less than 2 minutes.
Cops usually don't ever have a chance to fire at you.
Though, it's not really stealthy, ripping apart ATM in the middle of street with loudy-as-hell portable saw.
It's funny when you actually do it when someone (civilian) is using it.
Imagine yourself using an ATM and then some masked guy runs to it, rips it open with a saw in less than 3 seconds and takes whole load and runs off to the alley.
What about the one in the 24/7?
Aaand wow. Some guy whose handle was a twitch url just kicked me from a normal mode Nightclub game when I was in the escape vehicle, what a cunt.

If one of my best friends counts, then yes.
She only played Payday 1 for 7 hours, and that was because she really just wanted to play with me. Meanwhile, she's played the beta for more than 20 hours and still willingly comes along.

A couple of my friends didn't like 1's shooting, but really like 2s, so there's probably more than a few people swayed by that.
I think it's got to do with her loving stealth options, and the guns feeling better. She disliked the ease of shooting in the first game the most.
EDIT: My merge.

yes, I bought PD1 while it was on sale for $5, played through all the missions, and never touched it again after 6 hours of playing
currently have 35 hours on the PD2 beta, still enjoy playing it even after hitting the cap
It's the way they've done their sounds so that firing full auto sounds good with minimal effort on their part. There have been other games to do it.
They need to fix it honestly. It's a pretty fucking big deal.
this game desperately needs a fire selector function

I'd fall under that category. I have 4 hours played total of Payday 1 because I just could never get into it. Meanwhile I've already played 20 hours of Payday 2.

So what does the multiplayer use? Steamworks?
The multiplayer in the first Payday was super buggy for my friend and I. If either of us lagged even slightly it would throw the whole game out of whack and make us appear in places we weren't and other such oddities.

I've got 30 hours in The Heist and I am rapidly catching up to it in the Beta with 19 hours. The beta alone is so much more enjoyable than the original was.

I haven't experienced any lag. Only crashes.
No lag, but I get some pretty bad framerate issues when a heist first starts.
The worst is with Four Stores and Nightclub.
Are there any exploits that allow a non-host to remove members from the game?
I just got removed from a game with my friend after threatening to kick another player for spamming the chat and not getting on the escape car. My friend was the host and said I left.

Actually, a weird de-sync happened to me once. I was playing with a friend who told me to cable tie a guy that he was standing right next to, but that guy wasn't even there on my game.
My friends and I had a perfect stealth run going. One of them was watching the back room in case any guards saw the open door and came up. The rest of us were staying in the managers office on that little space above the stairs. One of them hit the lamp back there with melee and suddenly everyone in the nightclub was on the phone with the police.
"Hello Police."
"What is your emergency?"
"Sir I heard a lamp fall over somewhere nearby in a nightclub I am very concerned."
"Alright we'll send the FBI over to investigate."
Man, that really sounds like me. My team had a stealth going good and I thought it'd be a good idea to break a lamp near the 2 chairs until the police came.
I don't think I was in your game though :v:
Also, I finally got a mask

I've just had three rats runs in a row ruined because Bain likes to be a lying sack of shit and says the completely wrong ingredient to you sometimes. Ridiculous that you have to validate with the rest of the team on what he's saying.
And then, while we finally having it going good, I (the host) crash in the middle of the 3rd bag.
So is the only way to get into the beta to purchase the Career Criminal edition?

That or have someone gift you the beta key (iirc they're 3 Mann co keys on TF2Outpost)

You just have to make sure you wait until he is 100% done with what he is saying because the last ingredient he says will always be the right one to put in.
I go away for a few days and everyone is a high level, even in level 1-3 missions. I can't level at all because 3/4 of the games I play either end in me getting kicked for no reason, or the host quitting out near the end for no reason.
Well that kinda sucks. I don't really want to spend $50 or $30 on a game I'm not even sure I'll enjoy, since I wasn't really a huge fan of the first.
The biggest problems I had with the first is that it was just plain dull.
"Put a drill on a wall and kill 4000 cops while it finishes drilling. Now run in and load up cash and fight back 50000 cops on your way to the extraction point."
Also stealth was damn near impossible, or just plain impossible, in all of the heists, which is my preferred way to play a game like this.
[editline]4th August 2013[/editline]
Also it was kind of ludicrously difficult even on easier difficulties.

I liked the first game but it certainly had its flaws. The second game is definitely superior. The gunplay, the missions, the fact that you can actually stealth most of them... Payday 2 is a better game and by quite a bit.
If you want to get the game cheaper, you can pick up the standard game for 9 or so keys on TF2 Outpost, or the CCE for 14 keys (comes with beta access and an extra beta key you can give/trade away). CCE works out to be ~$30 USD if you do it this way, so you save around $20 USD.

This is the one thing that is still in this game. If shit goes bad, it goes really bad. You will get better at the game though, and with better gear and skills it does get easier.
I guess if there are less cops it might be less annoying. It was just that there was literally over 100 cops per wave at times, and ain't nobody got the ammo for that. Plus with that many cops you could be getting shot from just about anywhere, and your dumb AI teammates wouldn't do shit to stop them most of the time.
Is there anybody in this thread who did not like the original Payday but enjoyed Payday 2? I am curious.
I have 33 minutes on payday 1, and hated it. But I really like payday 2.
Also, safehouse renovations better cost a lot because, I really don't need 15mil there to spend on a safehouse I've went to twice my entire time playing payday 2.
This is one of the few games I'm actually alright with playing public coop. I didn't do that even with the first Payday, but its a really enjoyable experience in this unless you get idiots but that is always true.
I love it when cops line up for you to shoot them
I occasionally make use of the knockback my pistol produces to silently kill guards and propel them away from potential danger zones, like the kitchen doorway on Nightclub. Then I sneak over and stuff their body in a duffel bag.
