also I really think they should allow you to refund individual skills rather than entire trees
having to pay millions to get rid of one talent is kinda dumb
Can someone give a guide on how to actually use ECM
Because people keep saying its good but I've yet to find a use for it. The only situation where I can say its obvious and useful is the jewelry store since the store area is so small and if you are quick you can finish the mission easy, enough time where the short timer on ECM isn't a huge deal.
I.E. it seems totally useless on framing frame since the area is much bigger than the range
It's obviously useless on missions like watchdogs and mallcrashers which are basically pure action
Bank seems useful but the size of the bank plus the cameras everywhere mean that if you don't place it right or have it fully upgraded you might as well not try? Seems like it would be easier for the cameras to just break them, and even if its a camera in place of where a guard would patrol then you just gotta intimidate them with mastermind to do the job better (i.e. you won't have to worry about the ECM wearing out).
I really wish they would make the ECM, like all deployables, last forever but just have a shorter range. So you can have the ECM active for the whole round, with a (shorter) range that you can easily identify, and then just make sure to take care of and intimidate the people outside of the range to prevent them from calling and setting off the alarm
So how should I be using this?

ecm lasting forever would be really op, especially on framing frames day 3

ECM Override, good if you want to open doors without a keycard, works nice on Framing Frame, Big Oil and the Banks.
Other than that, not useful unless you're gonna cuff every civvie in either Bank Heist, Jewellery Store or Ukrainian Job.
It does block cellphones along with cameras.
But then again, most heists you could just get MM skills and solo them through without breaking a sweat.

Guess I should say that was more or less an idea, but I'd rather they either keep the short timer but have a strong radius no matter the rank or last forever with a really short radius than what we have now, where it's a super short timer and an okay range making it hard to figure out how to actually use this thing without wasting it. Also, apparently it doesn't stop guard pagers from going off too which is odd (I could be wrong?).

It doesn't stop pagers.
I think if that would happen then it would just sound the alarm instantly because of the operator not receiving a message.
I wish the operators had a chance of not giving a fuck.
"2-2-4, respon- ah fuck it, he probably dropped his pager again."

See that's what gets me
You pretty much need mastermind to prevent alarms since there is no way you can stealth through entire missions without taking care of the fact that guards will alarm if you kill more than two of them, a random civvie will alarm unless you take care of them, etc. A ghost that can only kill two guards before their pagers will auto-alarm you isn't a very good ghost, even if you manage to completely avoid civilian detection (which would be required, since the ECM doesn't last long enough to completely prevent civilians from calling the cops the whole time during a heist, and some heists you need to deal with civilians in order to do successfully without alarm).
I mean, the intimidate guards thing is pretty much required to stealth missions, because it doesn't cause the pager to go off, the guards when intimidated do not alert anybody, and it might as well be killing them. It's ironic that masterminds can "remove guards and the security" from the picture much more efficiently than a ghost can, because they don't need to fire a single shot to do it, it lasts the whole heist, they can do it an infinite number of times, and their pager doesn't go off when they do it.

Use it to disable cameras to access areas, kill guards, or get close to destroy the camera. It's fantastic at blocking the alarm in civ-heavy areas.
Also upgrade it, a stock ECM is garbage. 2 ECMS doubling its ability is mandatory, making it last longer is nice, opening doors with it saves tons of time, and the feedback makes for a good distraction to rushing to an escape

I seriously think that Ghosts need an ability where they grab the pagers off of guards they melee so that they don't hit the ground and go off.

You can only do it once, twice if you convert one.
You can only do it once, twice if you convert one.
Every mastermind can intimidate and convert a guard though. I've seen it enough times.
You can only do it once, twice if you convert one.
You can?
EDIT: Ah yeah, all the videos showing masterminds solo-stealthing were apparently beta and back then I guess you could do it infinite number of times
Every mastermind can intimidate and convert a guard though. I've seen it enough times.
You can only have a single person intimidated at a time. If you convert them you can only have that one convert until he dies and another person intimidated.

Disabling cameras is quicker done with simply meleeing them to death though. The only time where it isn't is when a guard is going to pass through the area. But even then, you just melee the camera, wait for guard, kill the guard/intimidate and you are good to go, all without needing to time things perfect for ECM and waste an ECM for likely just one camera.
The problem with blocking alarm in civvie-heavy areas is the range is short enough that there's a good chance one of them will run out and call anyways, and the time it lasts is short enough that you need to pretty much have a mastermind on hand to take care of civvies after your ECM runs out or you get the alarm anyways.
I heard the feeedback skill was pretty useless though. How does it work? Does it work on previously-placed ECM's?
If I kill the guy in the camera room, will cameras still raise an alarm?

This mask makes me look like an axe murderer, I like it
They buffed Smooth Talker to 4 answers, but you still can intimidate only 1 person.
I think they need to slightly change the ace of Dominator, something like being able to intimidate another 2 persons.
If I kill the guy in the camera room, will cameras still raise an alarm?
Does that disagree mean no they will not raise alarm? Or no I'm stupid?
they wont raise the alarm
Sweet.
Once you get Smooth Talker and Dominator both Big Oil and Framing Frames becomes laughable.
I really wish they'd fix the Bank Heist van
I do not understand dominator for shit
every time I try doing it to a guard they just start blasting me in the face. :v:
My suggestion is don't bother untill you unlock the last MM tier bonus
It makes your intimidation way more powerful, enemies are basically guaranteed to surrender if you shoot or melee them once, even turtle swats if you're using a weapon with decent damage

If you put it on a camera hub, doesnt it block all the cameras? I thought it did one time in Bank Heist

The funny thing is at the second to last tier I can intimidate an officer across the street from the bank while standing on the roof.
The majority of the time it's random if you'll actually intimidate them, the more alone they are and the stronger weapon you're holding the easier it is. I also try to intimidate them first if I'm near and if they don't throw their hands up the first time punch 'em once.
If you put it on a camera hub, doesnt it block all the cameras? I thought it did one time in Bank Heist
The cameras don't work if you kill the guy.
i want this game right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyone has dosh??
I wish they hadn't nerfed Mastermind, I miss having 10 cuffs. Same for dominator working on more than one guy, it feels like there should have been a better way to nerf it, like maybe a cooldown or something instead.
Is there only one semi auto/single shot rifle in the game currently? Or am I just blind.
Also if someone could teach me the ways of stealthing bank heists it would be most appreciated :v:
