For added fun, the gang only has one drill and has to drag it around like the thermal drill from Bank.
Or, you have an infinite supply of normal drills, but they break twice as fast
So they got the basics down on this game (gunplay etc) but forgot to add enough scenery/levels to have fun with these basics. I don't need a cool looking car when I can just drive in the same 5 streets and nowhere else.
So what does everyone think about this?
Or, you have an infinite supply of normal drills, but they break twice as fast
When a safe opens, if it does not contain the objective loot, it will spawn a special cop in it. The number of special cops that spawn in it doubles for each additional safe opening.

You have to hole up somewhere eventually, especially since damage seems to come in high bursts rather than a consistent armor/HP drain. It's weird, it's like you get hit by bursts rather than individual shots. I'm not sure how you could get the AI to determine what's unfair vs "fair" camping either, since you should be staying fairly close to your team. Other than maybe the bank vault I can't really think of a consistent spot I see people always run into when attacks start. I do agree that breaking down walls would be a good addition though; it'd at least add some more variety to assaults. Shields standing in doorways sounds too annoying, they can do some weird bullshit even without really trying to, like getting stuck in windows and being impossible to hit.

Now that you mentioned it though, how is that ability? I've been saving up for it and I'm hoping it's good, but I don't actually know yet. Is it just like a worthless little nudge? Or a bash? Does the shield fall down or just back off a little? [editline]22nd August 2013[/editline]
I haven't really seen camping in rooms to be that much of a problem though. The Vault is sort of an issue at times because the awkward angles and fencing can work against you, but it's a very common camp spot and people usually come out on top because the AI simply can't work with it. The FBI Office is the worst, they come through the door one at a time and get shot up just as quick. I feel like people should have to 'control' the area, make sure SWAT don't even get near the room. Camping in the room is borderline exploitative because again, the AI cannot deal. Like I said, programming that would be very difficult. It'd be better if the mapmaker just designated certain areas as 'camp spots', and having more people in them would have a chance to trigger the countermeasures. So if all 4 people are sitting in a designated 'camping spot', the game may generate a couple Bulldozers who will both make a B-line for the room with the intention of fucking you up for camping inside there.
Listened to the Payday 2 soundtrack when I played TF2. Kept hearing Bain in my head. Guys, the cart. Get on it!
Also added Riot Grenades suggestion to my list, including use of Tear Gas Grenades.
Why do I often get in bank heists already started, 2 minutes in, cops already attacking, and see the drill still in the fucking pickup truck? It's like pubbies don't even see the fucking objective marker and are like "i n££d mai K/D r@ti0 hi!"

Some kid on mic then proceeded to yell in french then I was promptly kicked.
sometimes an area is camped in to defend because it's a good place to defend forcing people out of cover in a game where you can die very quickly is kind of lame
https://twitter.com/locust9/status/370507579295666177 ECM jammer will, besides blocking pagers, open ATMs Nice
sometimes an area is camped in to defend because it's a good place to defend forcing people out of cover in a game where you can die very quickly is kind of lame
Yeah, I have to agree. And putting a shield in a doorway where there is no way to get around behind them literally means everyone in that room will die. You can't kill him and unless they have a high level enforcer they can't knock him back. He can literally just stand in the doorway and just keep firing until everyone is dead because no one can do anything to him. There is nothing really wrong with people camping in this game, its their choice of tactics. As long as its not actually exploiting anything, like getting to an inaccessible area or somewhere people can't be hit, then they've just found a really effective tactic.
Now that I think about it, you would think ECM's could open ATM's from the beginning, what with the interface being electric.
Well, not from the beginning but after being upgraded.
who's gonna waste an ecm for 22k though
who's gonna waste an ecm for 22k though
Me
Well it's a good thing to rush four stores with?
Does that mean ECM just delays pagers or like stop them from going off in the first place
who's gonna waste an ecm for 22k though
There are plenty of situations where you don't need an ECM or two. Mallcrashers and most Four Stores runs in particular because stealthing them is hard an inefficient.
who's gonna waste an ecm for 22k though
Someone who plays as Ghost and wants to grind 4 Stores.

Overkill filter alone makes it a great addition.

If I'm playing a bank heist, there's going to be people clearing money or opening deposit boxes in the vault, and that means less people to lock down the rest of the bank. Usually when I play, 2 will go in and bag, 2 will defend. 2 people is not enough to defend against waves of armoured FBI. So we create a choke point with the vault door. Why? Because it works and it's the easiest way to defend. Why sit outside the vault and practically guarantee a down? It's a similar situation with Rats 1 in the house. The upstairs is the easiest to defend - but there's access points all over it. The windows, the stairs and the balcony door. In fact, I've had trouble with shields and Bulldozers coming in by way of the stairs and balcony. Sure there's reason to leave for the chemicals for the meth and the light switch but there's not a need to go and turn them on. When there's a run for chemicals, I always make sure to get the stuff from the outhouse first and leave the closest ones for later pickup. Why? Again, because it's the easiest tactic. With waves of armoured SWAT and FBI coming in, what other option is there?
