I wouldn't mind a mix of free and paid stuff the way Killing Floor has.
I'll just be happy if they support the game after release. As they're planning DLC packs, they will, so I'm content.
More masks, decals and colors are always welcome though.
I'm just wondering something.
Lets say that overkill have added a bunch of levels in for free and whatever beef from launch has passed. Neutral standing. How would you feel if overkill added a mask pack for a fee? Like four or five masks of a similar theme for say 5 bucks.
I guess disagree for not liking a fee and agree for neutral/fine with it. I'm just genuinely curious as to how people would feel about it.
killing floor gets away with this and buyable weapons so i guess most people would be indifferent
If they were to add a mask pack, I'd like to see it done where you at least get one of each item added for free, then you can get duplicates through card drops. Just like the Loot Bag stuff.
The problem with such masks is, while they might look cool, all they say about you is "I paid $5 for this". Not "I played the game a bunch and got a bit lucky".
In stating that outright it makes me realize how lame the card system is. Why aren't card drops based on the difficulty of the heist? In that case, why is overkill the hardest?
they said no microtransactions though
So how the hell are people spaning hundereds of Dallasses?
they said no microtransactions though
I think it'd fall under DLC packs. Buy the mask pack and get one set of the masks right out the gate but you can find duplicate masks through the cards.

Good thing that wouldn't be microtransactions.
Good thing that wouldn't be microtransactions.
except it kind of would be
or do you think killing floors character and weapon packs are actual dlc
Well in most literal sense they are. it's hard for me to explain, I wouldn't call a mask pack microtransaction. It's not selling shitload of items separately
But like I said, I'd be fine with mask packs if they actually added the missing heists for free. Otherwise they should be part of a heist(s) DLC.
I am really interested how they'll do DLC. There are so many possibilities, I hope they don't fuck up.
I wonder if we'll get more contract givers other than Elephant, Vlad, Hector and Bain.
I still really dig Hector but Vlad has honorable mention because high as a fucking Sputnik

Killing floor had free weapon updates until years down the line, and those were community made weapons.
I didn't watch the web series or anything, but Hector in the background scares me.
That serious stare

its still selling weapons no matter how you slice it. say it was skins i honestly wouldnt care but they are actual full blown weapons iirc

Those stats are pretty much just modified little bit from vanilla weapons, little bit faster firing and little bit lower dmg and so on.
Why does it say on the main menu I've only put 20 points in Enforcer, when I've put over 50 in?

No, they aren't.
At all
There are maybe 2 weapons(steampunk tommy gun being one) that are like that, every other weapon is unique and interesting.
This isn't TF2, Tripwire adds quality content to KF.
As much as I dislike the community weapon packs costing money in KF, that kind of overall support would be considered "too generous" by most developers and that most likely includes Overkill.

It shows taken skills (aced skill counts as 2).

Only interesting and noticeably different guns that come to my mind are only flare revolver and that fancy saw blade crossbow.
But still on the bright side the "best" weapons are always a vanilla one.
i'd be ok with dlc stuff as long as it meant actual free content for the game wasn't forgotten, if we get both then i will be alright with it but if we only got paid content i would be disappointed
They've already confirmed there will be 5 dlc packs, some free, some paid.
I'm sitting here hoping the big update is the addition of a few more heists.
If they also add some more weapon mods I'll go crazy.
So me and hammer just ram raided rats, yay.

I'm interested what they'll do with Election day.
My guess is it's it's gonna be free considering they showed screenshots from it before the game was released.

From the first weapon DLC, yes. Considering every melee weapon now has Scythe's unique ability

I can't find the screenshots.
Someone please post, it has white house in the background and shit

You can forget what I said because I just found out that the only day I haven't played has US Capitol in it.
I want a heist inspired by the greatest heist movie ever "national treasure"
i wish the heists in pd2 had as much interactivity as the ones in the first game
like the panic room heist, it had you do a whole bunch of things in order to lift the whole room through the roof with a helicopter which was cool as hell or the no mercy one where you had to find the correct blood sample or w/e it was
in pd2 it's mostly waiting for drills/computers and carrying bags of things which isn't nearly as exciting

I want a Nick Cage mask.
Welp, I just stealthed Day 1 of Big Oil, with all 3 intels... Man it feels good stealthing something you usually shouldn't.

Just be thankful they didn't bring over having to yell at objective civilians that constantly fumble about and are generally unresponsive
