So during my escapades in happy crime land solo adventures I've noticed that Hoxton will sometimes VERY OCCASIONALLY say something with a British accent.
I heard him say stuff when he was downed or after getting shot.
I have noticed that as well. Especially with the victory lines he says one or two from the first game.
Wrapping up my Mastermind tree at the moment, got 6 points left, should I get Control Freak so my gunfire makes everyone drop, or Pistol Messiah?
Pistol Messiah, I haven't found a real use for Control Freak because shouting works just as good.

You can stealth club by just firing every now and then because all civs will be too scared to do anything.
So how loud is the drill exactly? Cause I stealthed Bank Heist, but the inside door is locked and I'm afraid civies will be able to hear it.

If I do get it, it'll be basic, as I can't afford to Ace it. Would it still be effective?
I should mention though, I have 2 ECM Jammers, and the ability to open doors with it, along with safe picking. My friend will also be getting silent drills soon enough.

Not incredibly loud. It depends on the AI.
In Four Stores, in the small food store, you can be drilling the safe in the back room and the safe under the counter at the same time, and a civvie standing at the counter as if they were being served won't hear it.
Other times you'll alert the entire map with it.

Great so I have to hope that no one outside the vault can hear this drill. Otherwise I'm fucked.
I really wish I could use Pistol Messiah.
But the Locomotive is too godly.

What about the Deagle?
Has slightly less total ammo, however 10 shots loaded rather 6, a bit more accurate and when reloading, you reload all 10 shots at once, rather 1 at a time for the shotgun shells.

pistol messiah irritates me so much because just when you're about to hit that last bullet you get knocked out

I have fast reload though on shotguns which is blazing fast.
Plus at least I have some leeway with the shotgun.
I really only use my Deagle for quick stealth missions like Ukraine, Nightclub, or Four Stores.
I'm really unsure about Control Freak or Pistol Messiah.
Get everyone down and stay down, or saving my own ass in a tight spot.
I just noticed a line from Bain I'd never heard before at the end of Big Oil. He says about "We've retired the engine until, well, we decide to liberate it ourselves that is." That could be an interesting heist, almost a revisit where you steal back the engine from the oil industry. Perhaps they spurn The Elephant and he uses it to get revenge. Or perhaps an opposing political figure style the same way "The Donkey" could show up, hiring you to do jobs that counter The Elephant's work and such.
I'm curious, what are the modes on Tripmines, there's no info on the Wiki, and the skill descriptions imply there's 3 modes.
The default laser tripwire, then Combat Engineer is 'Allows you to toggle between different modes on trip mines.' and then Acing it gives 'Upgrades your trip mines with a sensor mode.'

The first one gives you the ability to turn them off and on, its not really a mode.
Then acing it replaces the off mode to a trip sensor.

Basic gives you ability to turn tripmines off, Ace replace it with sensor stuff (blue laser) - dunno how it works.
damn ninjas
So what's the "sensor" do?

And the sensor does what, does it highlight the person tripping on it?
Or does it just do a beep?
I'd like to know so I can actually use them, since they are pointless to use as they are compared to the sentry (unless you have the skill that turns them into c4)
It just makes a noise whenever an enemy passes through.
It's actually extremely useful on small maps, more than trip mines for sure.

They're actually really good at defense. They kill anything that gets caught in the explosion. Shields, Turtles, even Bulldozers.
For some reason, the saw can hit the Turtle SWAT's invincible front plate and do jack shit, wasting a whole blade without even killing him.
Yet they shred Bulldozers in half a blade. Logic.

New special unit, a bulldozer suit made of of HRT chest-plates.
New special unit, a bulldozer suit made of of HRT chest-plates.
welcome to die
I just dislike the turtle swats in general
my shotgun is strong enough to onehit most of the other enemies in the game but your magic bodyshield is so strong that it can't even be scratched
kk
Did Pro Overkill Firestarter with some guys, day 1 and 2 went smooth as butter, 3 not so much but two of us made it out. We got a million in spending cash and 140'000 XP.
Yeah I'm alright with this.
New special unit, a bulldozer suit made of of HRT chest-plates.
I don't mind that HRT have a strong chest plate, but I don't like that it's invincible and damage to it doesn't even knock them over. Point-blank double barrel to it? Hah. AK 762 with damage upgrades? Laughable. A fucking circular saw that goes through anything and can't find it in itself to give a singular fuck? Not today, you cheeky cunt.
I honestly think that once you breach a damage threshold for rifles, you should get a blip for an "Armor-Piercing" ability against them. That, or give us different ammo types as an interesting unlock - and balance them by either some base factor or giving us less ammo. I don't want HRT to be too easy, but I don't like how they're basically a massive ammo drain right now and that's it.

I sure hope so, despite being a criminal stealing the reactor for the oil industry left a bad taste in my mouth.
ammo types could easy just be put in as magazine mods
They're hardly useless. They're actually really good at defense. They kill anything that gets caught in the explosion. Shields, Turtles, even Bulldozers.
The problem is, the mines don,t pick who to kill, so 9/10 times, it just kills a regular swat or even a civilian, and only 1 of them. I guess I have to place them at the right time
And killing Bulldozers? A tripmine killing a bomb defusal suit wearing guy?
It's silly, but trip mines are an instant kill on everything, I've even downed myself with them.
And killing Bulldozers? A tripmine killing a bomb defusal suit wearing guy?
It makes about as much sense as an EOD suit acting as body armor. Which it doesn't. It just looks bulky and scary, which is why so many games use it as a base, or even by itself, for 'heavy' troops. In reality, EOD suits don't even protect from the "explosion" very well, just the shrapnel and heat. The actual shockwave, if strong enough, will pass right through the suit and liquify the poor guy inside. Much older EOD suits did have many layers of Kevlar and other things that might stop rounds with poor piercing ability; but they, ironically, had shitty protection from explosions.
So no matter how you slice it, EOD suits as armor in a game is just comical.

Place them ahead of time on an area you want to keep safe and turn the laser off.
Place getting flooded with cops/swat/bulldozers? Shoot the mine, kill all of them at once.
