I still don't get it. How long would it take them to fix Cloakers crashing your game? I mean they worked fine in Payday 1, I can't imagine they're all so different. And even if they are, did they only notice it was crashing games before the beta release? Or are they taking that long to make it work? I mean what's up with that.
Isn't the first DLC, the Armored Truck one, paid for people who didn't preorder?
And I would be a lot less pissed at overkill if they actually fucking talked to us, instead of randomly answering a few question and then hiding under a rock for a few days to repeat the cycle. Take a note Overkill, being really sneaky and secretive was cool when you were pumping us up for the Wolf pack, but not so much when it comes to a PR shitstorm like this. What's the free content? Are they heists, weapons, masks, characters? What are they specifically, how far along are you on them, when do you plan to ship? Almir said that OK has a policy of telling the community about stuff even if it might not be correct (like how we're like 5 heists short), but all I've seen is radio static
There's also the fact that, even though there are indicators for 7 day heists, the longest heists are only 3 days
Even in his guide Bain said that there where heists that go on for 7 days.
I get all you concerns but let me ask you one thing.
Why the fuck can't we close doors

To be fair, the cops could probably send any doors you close flying with a well placed kick or explosive
Also, I wish there was a top tier enforcer skill that lets you breech metal doors with a shotgun, like you can with wooden and glass doors
I get all you concerns but let me ask you one thing.

Inevitable door spam to prevent enemies from entering, I guess.
But then cops could just blow open doors.
Though closing doors would make stealth oh so sexy.
So uhm, I decided to make a guide. It's shows some locations of doors you can shoot open and how to do it. I really felt it was needed because holy shit I meet so many people who insist on lockpicking doors when you can just shoot them open in 2 seconds. It doesn't have so many door locations yet but I'm working on it. If you guys could read it and give me some feedback that would be great, thanks.

I did know about shooting doors open, but I did not know you could do the same with the door on Watchdogs. Thanks man!
Even in his guide Bain said that there where heists that go on for 7 days.
Its actually in the Cagliostro part where he says he has heard of some jobs taking as long as seven days. And none of the information we have in any form shows that there was going to be or will be any that take that long, basically making it future-proofing in case they decide to make one that long.
Complaining about the missing heists is perfectly valid because we were promised them and have received no information as to why they aren't in the game at all. Complaining about them having to take the Cloakers out to fix them is stupid because they made it clear already, back before I think even the beta started, that there were serious issues that had to be resolved. That's exactly what one would expect from any other developer, and exactly what a responsible developer should do. Address the issue, provide a reason for it, and if possible (which isn't even remotely always possible) provide a time frame for it to be fixed. The missing heists is a serious issue though because they made a very specific promise that they sold the game and not only have failed to live up to it but have failed to even address it, let alone provide a reason or a time frame for it to be corrected.
"Sorry, cloakers won't be in the game because we're incompetent."
"Sorry, cloakers won't be in the game because we're incompetent."
Its like you're just being needlessly pedantic hoping to be rated Zingers.
Let them release DLCs but i wonder how long it will take them to release the first DLC, as i remember it took them a very long time to release Wolf pack DLC. I might be wrong but it felt like it took them a very long time.

It took them a long time because they hadn't even thought about doing it, they put all their effort into the base game and then were surprised when it took off. Then they figured "hey, what the hell" and made the Wolf pack, which was great because they didn't just take ideas that they otherwise would have included in the base game and sell them for extra.
With Payday 2 though, they were planning loads of DLC right from the start, so I doubt it'll take long. They probably have a significant amount ready

Well he's right, isn't he?
I hope they won't go in "Shameless cash grab" mode when they release the DLCs
As in, make one heist cost 5$ or so
Its like you're just being needlessly pedantic hoping to be rated Zingers.
no because you're trying to explain the situation as kindly as possible, and it's really, really obvious
this is not a matter of perhaps current technology preventing something from being possible, for instance to render large maps, allow for advanced physics or the implementation of intelligent AI, etc. it's a blatant lack of care and incompetency. It's the least of the problems PD2 has, but once again their handling of it blows my mind.
it's a blatant lack of care and incompetency.
If they didn't care or were that incompetent, the Cloaker would still be in the game causing problems for everyone.
Well he's right, isn't he?
No.
Each DLC will likely be Wolf Pack sized, $10.

Are you seriously comparing the capabilities of a 100 man team who had over 5 years to make and improve upon a game engine to a 20 man team who had 2 years?
If they didn't care or were that incompetent, the Cloaker would still be in the game causing problems for everyone.
Lets look at how might a dev act who doesn't care in a situation in which content is half finished:
1. they spend 0 extra effort putting it in the game anyway, allowing for crashes or
2. they spend 0 extra effort and leave it out of the game.

Need I remind you this is a smaller company with a fairly low budget, not fucking DICE or something
ya but leaving the picture and references to the cloakers/spooks in the final product is competent and caring
Does anybody actually care? I don't think anybody in the group of people I play with even noticed
if any money is involved in purchasing dlc, i hope it's from my in-game offshore account

No. I don't see where I'm comparing this to anyone actually. It's a matter of shady business dealing and crappy community handling.

Well they could have fixed it, I seriously doubt that something as simple as a cloaker could fuck up the game so completely that they couldn't fix the problem over 4-6 weeks since the beta had started. For fucks sakes, they're just normal cops who move up aggressively and down you in one melee attack.

Weren't they bought out by a larger publisher? They said the game was profitable even before release (probably because they pulled a bait and switch with the beta), I doubt they're low on funds

That's not the point, it should have been in the game to start
I was expecting all the best from PD2 considering how they dealt with PD1.
You know, big patches with polishing, fixes, even additions like more moves by cops and heist events.
And after that they worked on the DLC which was kinda expensive, but at the same time they released No Mercy before the DLC got released(they could've easily sell it with the DLC instead of being free) and you could still play the heists without it.
When they doubled the price,I wasn't expecting anything less than 17 heists especially because Overkill was always quite generous(remember them saying how they hate microtransactions?)
This is really disappoints me

That doesn't sound like a minor problem. We don't really know what changes may have been made to Cloakers, if they've added anything to them or anything like that.

505 Games is a publisher for indie games. The biggest thing they've published is Arma 2. They couldn't even get physical copies of Payday 2 to retailers on the release date.
They likely told Overkill "This is your deadline" and thought that Payday 2 wouldn't do as good as it did.
That's not the point, it should have been in the game to start
So they should have left it in to keep crashing people's games? Did you read the post I quoted or just jump to make a snipe post?
