What? I've heard dozens upon dozens of cases of people getting a refund on Steam for ridiculous reasons, and Steam saying that they were only allowed one legitimate refund per account.

For the record, how many hours have you put into the game before asking for a refund?
Just got kicked from a nightclub run because after bumping against the first guard we met the leader thought it was his cunning plan that managed to make it so the alarm hadn't been tripped yet, instead of some idiot (me) shouting at civilians and shooting at the ceiling
I swear to god every asshole I run into is french, a couple more of these and I'll start to get racist

overkill are dumb and the game is a disappointment, but frankly you're an asshole for trying to squeeze a refund out of them when you've already played the game for almost 100 hours between the full release and the beta

I bought the beta key from someone, and how am I an asshole? I'm not demanding a refund, I'm politely asking Steam for one. I already told them that It's not big deal if I don't get one, and I'll just keep the game. I don't want to argue about this, simply due to not being listened to because I'm going "against" PayDay 2 in a PayDay 2 megathread.
Also, the only reason I posted the picture is because I constantly get asked I got a refund every time I do post in here, asking a question or just making a silly statement. I'm not constantly bringing it up for attention.

What I don't understand is how everyone agrees on the fact that, yeah, the game is buggy, un-finished, and we were blatantly lied to.
But the second I want a refund for something I paid for myself (I even paid for the beta myself, and the beta was controversial itself since it kept getting pushed back), I'm suddenly Hitler.

You played the game for 15 hours, asking for a refund now would imply that you're getting refund because you're bored of the game, which is in no way a proper reason for a refund. It'd be like buying a piece of clothing, wearing it for a few weeks and then want to return it.

Canaries were birds used by miners to call out about dangerous gases, so they're technically 'innocent birds in a hostile environment', so that's why whenever I heard the Canaries line, I think they mean that there's hostages on the scene.

Well, you're right about that, but the HRT is a [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostage_Rescue_Team]unit from the FBI.[/url] So that's why I find it a little silly, then again whenever they do call in the HRT it's either A) FBI investigator dudes or B) Medium or Heavy FBI.
I have caught faintly cops saying 'HRT' in the beginning of a sentence, but I've never caught the rest of the message.
It might be "HRT, on the scene!".

That's what I mean, I for one have never heard "Send in the canary" and whenever I've heard the standard 'canaries' line, it's mostly been at the end of a assault and pretty much nothing going on.

I just had a game and cancelled out the music, I heard "HRT, we've got canaries on the scene!" just at the end of an assault wave, no tasers in sight and we had around 10 hostages.
23 minutes in the "mission select screen", unable to connect to any 2 or 3 day heists, 1 day heists are technically 2 since they all have escapes now, and give you no money or XP so they're pointless to do, and I just got kicked from the one game I could connect to. Thanks Overkill.

Most of my playtime involves spending 20 minutes trying to connect to a larger heist, then losing connection to host at the last day. Then getting bored and shutting the game down.
KWK's case is fairly extreme. It's fairly bratty and pissy to ask for a refund when, from what he's said, you've gotten near 100 hours of gameplay from it.
But really, Overkill pretty much lied about the game content, and how much enjoyment you got out of it is not any indicator or scale of anyone else's enjoyment. You might enjoy grinding for mods and masks and replaying the same heists over and over again, but not everyone does. The fact stands that Overkill said there would be more content in the game than there really is.
WoW has less of a grind than Payday 2 when it comes to unlocks, and it pays off better too. And you don't just stop getting items and such 1/4th through the level system.
why are you comparing one of the biggest MMO's ever to be created to a $30 mid-budget FPS?
